  1. AU There was a discrepancy between GST ac balance at EOQ on the Balance Sheet & the GST refund for the end of quarter BAS. Using the GST Reconciliation report would be a lot more helpful if the Filed Amounts could actually be saved and continuously show the correct unfiled running balance amount and the section "GST Account Summary " for unfiled GST was actually correct as a cumulative balance. I just did 3.5 years worth of GST Reconciliations and nothing saved so all the running balances are wrong and don't flow correctly from one year to the next -…

Thank you for your candid feedback and engagement on this idea. The good news is we're actively working on a complete rebuild of this report on our new reporting platform ✨. This project is a top priority and is specifically designed to solve the issues you've raised. The new report will automatically pull in filed return amounts, allow you to drill down into transactions, and always show a correct, cumulative unfiled balance. We're in the development phase, and we’re also actively gathering feedback on the ability to make manual adjustments in the new report, which we know is a critical requirement. We are committed to delivering a report that makes this essential part of your workflow easier and more reliable. We'll be back with another update as we make progress 😊

  2. Archiving repeating journals
We have had a number of repeating journals over the years. We have gotten to the point where when we want to update these journals, we have to trawl through these. It would be nice to archive the ones we don't need any more so we can just see the ones we need.

  3. The new Practice Manager update is mostly great, but why do we need to manually enter the full address now when adding client details? The prefill address search was great and I don't understand why it was removed. It's just a hassle

  4. Why does Xero not pre-fill the Private Health Insurance information of someone who is on their family's PHI?
i.e. a young adult/teenager who is still on their parents health insurance. (Code F on the tax return).

I am having to manually enter the information every time I create a return for one, which is frustrating given that the information is already on their ATO pre-fill report, and it prefills fine for their parents.

Hi Emily! We really appreciate your feedback on this. At this moment, the information we pull is directly from the ATO exclusively for one sole return, and so won't automatically fill into the young adult/teenagers return as you've found.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

We'll keep an eye on any traction this gets in the community and will keep you updated if there are any updates. Thanks.

  5. Budget manager currently only allows you to include actuals for 3m, 6m and 12m. Most businesses do quarterly forecasts and hence also need 9m....why isn't this included as a default option ?? It should be...please !

We’ve seen your feedback on Budget Manager—thanks for sharing it. A 9-month actuals option could support quarterly forecasting.

This idea has been moved to Gaining support, so the community can vote and comment. If this would help your team too, sharing how you’d use it can give the product team more context and help the idea gain traction.

We’ll let you know when this progressed.

  6. We would like to request that the Sales Tax report for each invoice be shown as a single total amount in one bill, without itemizing the individual items in the Sales Tax report.

This format will help us track and reconcile invoices more easily. When the Sales Tax is itemized, it becomes difficult for us to monitor and match the invoices accurately.

We appreciate your support and look forward to your assistance on this matter. Please let us know if you need any further information from our side.

Hi community, appreciate raising this idea in the forums here and we'll start to get an understanding of the interest around this.

As tax can differ per line of an invoice this audit report provides a detailed account of the transactions lines that make up your tax and we want to be open that we don't have plans around changing this view right now.

In the meantime, for reconciliation purposes you may find running the Receivable Invoice Summary report useful.

  7. It would be useful to be able to automatically import the individual partner profits from partnership tax directly in the partnership schedule within personal tax. This would increase efficiency and reduce the likelihood of errors.

  8. When setting up Xero for a registered Subcontractor it would be really useful if Xero automatically created a revenue code for CIS Materials Income, like it does for CIS Labour Income.
When setting up a registered Contractor, Xero automatically creates CIS Labour expense and CIS Materials Purchased. But for Subcontractors to invoice CIS Materials Income they have to create their own code. But this is not mentioned in the support articles.
If Xero cannot add this code to the Subcontractor CIS set up, then can they at least add guidance in their support articles please.

  9. At the moment, if you reverse a journal with the same date as the original journal, it actually deletes both the original journal and the reversed journal from your manual journal listing in Xero. (You are only likely to do this in error, and it would not be immediately obvious to you as to what you have done). Both journals immediately become invisible and both are thus then uneditable. This should not be the case, there should be an ability to correct your mistakes. The only way to discover your mistake is by the 'Journal report' where you can see…

  10. Being able to print off the reports in the 'edit' mode so you can see the expanded breakdown of the accordian would be very helpful to ensure that Notes match Statements of Financial Performance and Position (especially useful for our juniors who often can't work out where their subcodes are if there have been reporting changes)

  11. Hi
I would like to request that we keep the publish button on the new GST layout. The new GST Return layout does not have the Publish to Reports function (this has been removed). The Publish Function is an important function for clients, bookkeepers and auditors to access all relevant publish reports in one place.

Hi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.

While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.

For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

  16. The only thing you seem to improve is reporting, and honestly, I’d bet a lot of people don’t even use those fancy reports because they’re unnecessary.

What’s missing are the basics. You don’t even have a proper general ledger customer or supplier report with running balances. Your customer and supplier reports simply aren’t designed that way. These are essential reports for accountants and auditors.

We also can’t do customer or supplier journals, and don’t even get me started on the lack of bulk offsetting of credits.

I love Xero overall, but these areas need serious attention. You are losing clients,…

  17. I would like to request improvements to the Journal Report to make it more user-friendly for accountants and bookkeepers.
Currently, reversal journals and their original entries appear together, which makes the report difficult to read and slows down review during month-end and year-end close.
    Please consider adding these enhancements:
    1. Preferred enhancement: Reversal Filters
Please add filter options to control visibility of reversal-related journals:
    • Show or hide original journals
    • Show or hide reversal journals
    • View only normal (non-reversal) journals
This would keep the full audit trail intact, but make the report much cleaner and easier to analyze.…

Hi Wilianti, thanks for taking the time to share this idea. Your notes on reversal filtering and visual indicators help clarify how these enhancements could support your workflow.

We’ve moved your post into Gaining Support, which opens it up for community votes and comments. It is now up to the community to show their interest, and this gives us a clearer picture of how many users might benefit from changes like these.

We’ll update this thread when the idea gains traction and is reviewed further by the product team.

I can't see a way to do this currently and have to delete and re-create which is tiresome

  19. Only show 'open items' on Balance sheet

Have an ability to match items in a balance sheet account, so only the 'open amounts' (which make up the total) are visible eg for accruals - don't have to see all the old accruals, and the invoices that have cleared these out. Would be able to see summary of just the 'open amounts'

Thanks for adding your feedback and votes to this idea. We understand the requests for the ability to delete line items from custom Profit & Loss reports, and we can see how this could help streamline reporting for some workflows.

The idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage, which means it’s open for the community to vote on and comment. These insights help our team gauge interest and guide future development priorities.

Feel free to keep sharing your thoughts or use cases to add more context.
