  1. The new menu format makes it necessary to scroll across to see ANY details for journals with long titles, instead of being able to see everything at a glance. Either wrap the titles by default or give us a toggle option to do so.

Thanks so much for sharing this idea. We can see how being able to view long manual journal titles more easily would be helpful, especially when you're quickly scanning your journals.

We've moved your idea to Gaining Support so other customers can vote and add their feedback too. If anyone else would find wrapped titles, or a toggle to control this, helpful in Manual Journals, please add your support and share how it affects your workflow — those details are really useful for our team.

We really appreciate you taking the time to raise this with us and help improve Xero.

  2. When a GST return is filed through Xero, it would be great to have a "Make Payment" option. As Xero already connects to myIR to file the return, this seems like a logical extension of the existing integration and would mirror the payment option available when filing directly through myIR.

  3. Account Transactions report - add functionality to group by MONTH so that there is a visible break between the data / transactions shown between (for example) January 2026 and February 2026 (if the report is run for the period 1 January 2026 to 28 February 2026 in this example).

Thanks for sharing, Deon. Appreciate how this would be useful for your business and getting an overview of transactions within a period.

Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too.

We'll keep a track on the interest your idea builds here and share if there is any progress.

  4. A way of converting quotes accepted into order acknowledgements and / or delivery notes before creating the Invoice would be helpful. I use a work around with templates, but it shows prices which you don't really need or want on delivery notes and the attachment PDF is still labelled as a quote.

Hi Rob thanks for sharing this here. We can see how having an order acknowledgment or delivery note upon quote acceptance could be useful to have. We will open this idea up to get more support from the community. Just to add on to your last two points, you can edit the way the PDF attachment shows. You can also create DOCX templates, so that the price does not show. If you require further support with this, please do not hesitate to raise a case with our support team.

  5. Ability to run detailed transaction and other reports translated to another currency.

When you are running a multinational business, the ability to convert all data back to 1 currency for reporting is invaluable. Though the entity may trade in one currency, being able to report in another is also important.

Also, looking at the detailed transactions for analytics is important but difficult when it's in a foreign currency. Having a multicurrency TB for export/import and reconciliations would also be handy.

Hi team, we appreciate all the engagement so far. We understand that when you’re working with multiple currencies, being able to view and present reports in a different currency can make it easier to communicate results.

At the moment, report currency is tied to your organisation’s base currency, which means you can’t switch the presentation currency directly within a report.

For now, these reports and spreadsheet exports can help bridge the gap when you need converted views for reporting. We’re continuing to track interest here and share it with the team.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so others can add their use cases and help us better understand how this feature could add values.

  6. Our board have frequently asked that our management accounts/Profit and loss etc is displayed not in alphabetical order but in order of value. Currently, I manually change the order but this takes far too long.

Hi Liz, thanks for your suggestion. We understand that being able to sort Profit and Loss lines by value could make it easier to highlight key income and expense areas when reviewing reports.

For now, you can use Edit Layout in the Profit and Loss report to manually reorder accounts and customise the report layout.

We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest and share your feedback with our teams.

  7. You can run depreciation, without posting the journal entries (so it rolls over to the next financial year without changing the current financial year accounts).

  8. Please change the manual journals layout back to the original permanently and not make me switch this very day. The new version takes up too much space and it is a lot harder to navigate. I suspect whoever designed this does not spend anytime actually entering journals. Another key issue is to have the show journal on cash basis reports unticked as the default. Journals by default are generally not cash movements. Thank you

  9. It is unacceptable that two standard financial reports within the same accounting system produce different balances solely because of the system's rounding method. Such inconsistencies create unnecessary complications during reconciliations, financial reporting, and audit processes.

Describing this as a software limitation does not address the underlying issue or its impact on users. Standard financial reports are expected to reconcile with one another, and the Accounts Payable Aging Report should match the Balance Sheet. Even a one-cent discrepancy requires investigation, explanation, and additional manual effort, undermining the reliability and efficiency of the system.

Financial reporting depends on consistency and accuracy. Users…

Thanks so much for taking the time to share this idea and explain the impact it’s having for you.

We understand how important it is for standard financial reports to reconcile, especially when even a small difference creates extra work during reconciliations, reporting, or audit review. We can absolutely see why this matters.

Your idea has now been moved to Gaining support so other customers experiencing the same issue can add their votes and comments. This helps our product team better understand how widespread the impact is.

While we can’t promise any specific changes or timing, please know your feedback has been captured and shared in the right place for visibility.

  10. It's great that, as a Xero Partner, we can add multiple taxpayers to the same Xero licence for Making Tax Digital for Income Tax. This is particularly beneficial for situations such as husband and wife property owners who each hold a 50% share of a property.

However, not all clients choose to have their accountant manage their MTD submissions. For those who prefer to handle their own compliance, it can be frustrating that a second taxpayer cannot currently be added directly by the client within Xero.

Allowing clients to add and manage additional taxpayers themselves would be a valuable enhancement.…

  11. When using a custom Profit & Loss report in a set of Financial Statements, you are unable to format formulas to be in bold or underlined. It would be beneficial from a visibility perspective to have these in bold, so they stand out as formulas.

Can this be updated so to enable formatting at this level.

  12. It would be extremely helpful if Xero allowed UK Property Income to be entered manually within the MTD ITSA return, rather than requiring transactions to be entered into the ledger or quarterly journals to be posted.

A common scenario is where a sole trader already uses Xero for their business but also has separate UK property income. Whilst it's possible to separate the figures using tracking categories, this still mixes business and property transactions within the same accounting records.

Allowing manual entry of the quarterly property income and expenses for MTD ITSA would:

    • Keep business and property records completely separate.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We can see how allowing manual entry of UK property income for MTD for Income Tax would be desirable.

We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand how many customers this would help and the different scenarios people need it for. If this is important to you, please add your vote and share any additional detail in the comments, especially how you currently manage property income outside Xero and where the current workflow creates extra work.

We’ll continue to review the feedback and keep this idea updated here as it progresses.

  13. Suggested improvements to Receivable Invoice Detail - Top Customers report.

The definition of this report is attached. It provides a list of sales invoices and credit notes by contact.

If a customer has an overpayment on their account, the report incorrectly treats this cash payment as a sales credit note and reduces the customer's sales figure by the overpayment. Please can this report be corrected to only include sales invoices and sales credit notes? Thank you.

  14. It would be useful to be able to add intangible assets to the Fixed Asset Register and actually have them classified as intangible assets on the register, rather than everything being classed as a tangible asset as it is currently. Then you could expand on this and allow setting for annual impairment write-offs or amortisation policies.

Hi Jake, thank you for bringing this suggestion to the community. We understand why having a dedicated way to manage intangible assets could be valuable, especially when you’re tracking items like software, patents, trademarks, or other non-physical assets. Keeping these records separate from physical fixed assets can help make reporting and compliance reviews much clearer.

Currently, Xero Fixed Assets is primarily designed around physical assets and depreciation.

One option for now is to create custom asset types and map them to the relevant accounts in your Chart of Accounts. While this does not provide a separate amortisation workflow, it can help you keep these assets organised and track their values over time.I’ve updated the status of this post to Gaining Support so we can continue to gather feedback and votes.

  15. Hi Xero Team,

We are in the process of registering Xero as our Computerized Books of Accounts with the BIR. In line with this, we would like to share some suggestions that may help Xero meet the BIR requirements.

For report generation, it would be helpful if the footer could include:

    The type of book,

    A timestamp and date,

The name of the person who generated the report, and

    The software version number.

At present, the footer only shows the date and type of report. Adding the generator’s name, exact time, and version number would make the reports more aligned…

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes you would like to see to the headers and footers of your reports. We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

Please note Xero operates on a continuous delivery model, which means we're constantly updating and improving our software. Unlike traditional software Xero doesn't have version numbers or release dates so we are unable to provide this information.

  16. In the new Manual Journal screen, please widen the Journal Title field. It is currently so narrow that longer, descriptive titles cannot be viewed while they are being entered.

Screenshot 1 shows the limited visible space in the field. Because I cannot see the full title as I type, my current workaround is to draft it in Notepad and paste it into Xero. The full title then appears in the page heading, as shown in Screenshot 2, but it still cannot be reviewed properly within the actual field.

There is a substantial amount of unused horizontal space in the new…

  17. Flexibility to select what reports are included in a report pack, e.g., Payroll Employee summary

    Hi Team.
I’m struggling to understand why Xero hasn’t resolved this issue. What technical limitation prevents certain reports from being included in a custom report pack, especially when other reports in the same reporting window are available for selection? The process doesn’t seem particularly complex, so it’s unclear why this remains a problem.

Since the reports are generated individually and not merged, it should be possible to allow users to include whichever reports they need in a custom report pack.

    Given the substantial subscription cost,…

Hi Pieter, thanks for starting the conversation around this. Being able to include additional reports, such as the Payroll Employee Summary, in Management report packs could make it easier to create complete management and client reporting packs without needing to combine documents manually.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If there are other reports you'd like to include in the report packs, let us know which ones would be most valuable for your reporting workflows.

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on increasing the CSV import line limit for budgets. We understand that the current 500-line limit means splitting larger files into smaller uploads, which adds extra steps to the process.

Thanks for raising this idea with us, and we are happy to move this to Gaining Support. However we would love if you can give us more details on how this would look, and how this would improve your MTD for IT experience.

  20. As I inquired on how to modify a report to allow for printing the column headings on multiple pages, Xero Support told me that I should "export the report and add the headings on page breaks".

Come on, Xero. That response was like a QuickBooks response! Surely someone at Xero must realize that when a report spans multiple pages, the user frequently may need to refer back to page one to be sure they understand what the numbers they are viewing are related to. Multiple page reports SHOULD have the column headings repeat on every page the report prints on…

Thanks for raising this idea, Alan. We can understand how including column headings across every page of a printed or exported report could make longer reports much easier to read and review.

We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your reporting workflow, add your vote and share which reports you use most often where repeated headings would be most valuable.
