  1. It would be really great to separate out the "Completed" and the "Audit Check" button in XPM for the tax returns and have them side-by-side rather than having the "Audit Check" hiding inside a drop-down menu behind "Completed".

These have two vastly different outcomes - the "audit check" is great for checking things are completed correctly (especially great for learning staff), but this is only accessible by clicking on the little arrow beside the "complete" button. If the "complete" button is accidently hit... it's stupendously annoying.

Many people don't have the authority to reverse clicking on "complete" i.e. to unlock…

✨ Thanks for sharing this idea with us Philippa and detailing how separating the Audit Check from Completed is a desirable improvement. We’ve reviewed it your idea is now open for other community members to vote on and comment on, so they can share how this change would impact their practice too. That feedback is really helpful for our team as it gives us a better understanding of the level of interest and the workflow impact for customers.

  2. It should be a straightforward matter of going into a transaction to change its status from GST included to GST excluded or no tax, instead of having to remove, redo, undo reconciling and then reconciling the whole thing again etcetera. Especially when there is a file attachment, this is a very awkward, convoluted operation. I daresay in MYOB it is very simple. Just check transaction report, find any faulty coded ones, correct, rerun report, done.

  3. At present, fixed asset depreciation in Xero follows standard monthly periods, which can make it difficult to align depreciation expense with businesses that report on a 4-4-5 calendar. Allowing users to override depreciation period dates would improve accuracy, reduce manual journal adjustments, and make the module more practical for retail, hospitality, and other businesses that use non-standard reporting cycles.

Thanks for sharing this idea ⭐ We’re moving it to Gathering Support so we can gauge the level of interest from the wider Xero community in supporting custom depreciation periods, including 4-4-5 reporting calendars.

Feedback and votes will help us understand how broadly this functionality is needed, as well as the impact it has on businesses that use non-standard reporting periods. Please continue to vote and share any additional details about how this would help your business.

  4. The current Tracking Summary Report is quite inflexible. I'm unable to filter by Account Code, edit the report layout, nor save as a custom report. It would be good if this report design could be refreshed to include these features, and to bring the report inline with the newer style reports.

  5. I would like the ability to stop repeat journals set to "post" from posting automatically and edit them to generate as "draft".

I can't see a way to do this currently and have to delete and re-create which is tiresome

Hi Rowena, thanks so much for taking the time to share your feedback on adding a calculator button within Budget Manager cells.

We understand how this could make it easier to perform calculations while working on your budgets. After reviewing this idea, we’ve updated its status to Not in the Pipeline. This means the product team has considered it, but it isn’t currently on the foreseeable roadmap.

The idea will remain open for votes, and we’ll continue to monitor the feedback and support for it. We really value your input and appreciate you helping us shape the future of Xero.

  7. One thing I really like in the new Organisation menu is the search bar. When you click the organisation name, the cursor automatically lands in the search field, so you can start typing straight away. It makes switching between orgs quick and seamless.

It’d be great to see this same experience in the new Reporting menu. Favouriting reports is useful, but it doesn’t cover every scenario. For power users, being able to click into the Reporting menu and have the cursor automatically placed in a search field - just like in the Organisation menu - would make it much faster…

  8. I have a US corporation in Xero which primarily does business in Canada and collects/remits Canadian sales tax. The rules for a US company are not robust enough to account for Canadian sales tax.
It's common for expenses in Canada to have some combination of taxable/nontaxable amounts. In a Canadian corporation I can manually adjust the tax amount to easily manage these situations, but I can't in a US corporation. Can you add the option to manually adjust tax amounts in US corporations?

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that for US organisations managing cross-border expenses, tax differences can sometimes make data entry and reconciliation more complex.

We hear the request for more flexibility to manually adjust sales tax on expenses, especially where foreign tax rules like GST or HST don’t align with default calculations.

We’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams review the value of extending manual tax override options to US organisations for cross-border expense scenarios.

  9. For the report templates, would it be possible to include a tax computation as part of the Annual Financial Statements? This schedule would show the income tax calculation for the year as well as the resulting tax asset or liability at year-end.

Thanks for sharing the changes you want to see!

We've given it a look, and now it's time for the community to rally behind it! The more support it gets, the better. Make sure you pass this along to anyone you think would benefit so they can add their vote and share their thoughts on how this would improve their use of Xero.

  10. In the Cash Flow Manager overview, include the option to filter based on the AI projection for 'cash in' including the overdue receivables. The AI projection is available on the 'cash in' tab, however, that tab doesn't include subtotals (like the overview tab does and this is very helpful) and also doesn't include the ability to filter by the AI projection. Both would be very helpful.

Thanks for raising this idea and explaining how the Cash In view could be more useful.

Some of what you’ve suggested is already available. You can use the Type column to filter the Cash In transactions and deselect Predicted items. Overdue invoices are also shown in the invoice section, separately from predicted recurring cash in.

The part we’ll move forward to Gathering Support is the request for clearer subtotals in the Cash In view, particularly a breakdown that makes it easier to distinguish predicted cash in from invoice-based cash in, including overdue invoices.

To help us assess this further, it would be useful to understand exactly which subtotals you’d find most helpful and where you’d like them displayed. 🌟

  11. The new manual journal has added more tabbing which takes more time and has started hurting my hand. We went from a whatever it was to 7 tabs to get to the same spot in each line. It is nice to have an option to copy the line to the next line and select with a space. That seems to have added one tab. I could take it or leave it as a tab. I don't need that as often. But do we really need to tab to the trash column. Are we going to use that enough to need…

Appreciate your suggestion here. We can see how more streamlined tabbing through fields in Manual Journals could support faster keyboard-driven data entry and a more consistent workflow.

We've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering interest from the community.

If there are specific parts of the tab sequence you'd like to see improved, please continue to share them here. That context is valuable for the team as they review this idea.

  12. Hi, it would be amazing to have the ability to delete certain line items to create custom reports (eg - Profit and Loss). I currently need to export the full report into excel and manually delete the lines, but would be nice to have the option to do this in Xero custom reports

Thanks for adding your feedback and votes to this idea. We understand the requests for the ability to delete line items from custom Profit & Loss reports, and we can see how this could help streamline reporting for some workflows.

The idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage, which means it’s open for the community to vote on and comment. These insights help our team gauge interest and guide future development priorities.

Feel free to keep sharing your thoughts or use cases to add more context.

  13. It would be great to be able to hide formula rows in reports where the result is a nil balance. Currently we get multiple repetitive total lines on reports when there is no activity cluttering up the reports unnecessarily.

Hi Kerrin, thanks for raising this. It’s easy to see how automatically hiding custom formula rows with no activity would make reports cleaner and easier to read.

Without this option, reports can feel cluttered. That often means sharing something that looks busier than it needs to be, or exporting the report just to remove empty rows manually—extra work that defeats the purpose of using the report builder.

I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can better understand interest in more report-level formatting options. If you’re able to comment with the specific reports where this would be most useful, it’ll help other users understand the use case and help the idea gain traction.

The manual journal I imported is sitting in the Draft screen.

Xero should take me to the Draft screen.

Thank you for sharing this suggestion.

We’re moving this idea forward to gather community support and feedback. This will help us understand how many customers would benefit from being able to mark individual registered assets as ‘Do not print’ on the Depreciation Schedule, particularly when an asset has no remaining book value.

Please vote for this idea and add a comment if this would help your organisation. Feedback about your current workflow and how often you need this option will also help us assess the level of interest and inform future consideration. 🙂

  17. Two things on new journals. One, I can't enter dates manually I have to use the mouse to select it which slows down data entry. Two, I use both cash & accrual journals. When I clicked into a journal on the old system I could see which type of journal I had entered. now I have to edit the journal to find out. I have reverted back to the old system.

  18. Activity Statement (GST) (on home page) widget to have running total of GST to pay at next Qtr. At present the Activity Statement widget is shown and identifies next GST quarterly payment & due date. It would be even more useful to have a running total of estimated GST to make sure I've got the correct amount set aside for each quarter based on transactions. On the home page i have bank account widgets so having to not need to go into the activity statement each time to keep track against the bank accounts would be more efficient and handy.…

  20. I am an insurance broker. When we raise an invoice on the system for a gross of eg R10,000,
    1. The invoice that goes to teh client must reflect the full R10,000 as normal
    2. In the background we need the system to automatically extract a certain % of there (which will be our commission). So we can create an insurer name with teh % and if we choose that insurer the system must behind the scenes show us the Gross in one column, the Commission in another and then the nett as well.
