  1. Hi
I would like to request that we keep the publish button on the new GST layout. The new GST Return layout does not have the Publish to Reports function (this has been removed). The Publish Function is an important function for clients, bookkeepers and auditors to access all relevant publish reports in one place.

Hi team, thanks for continuing to share and support in this idea.

While our team has continued to consider this idea since our last update, being upfront with you all here we want to share that this isn't in our current roadmap and unlikely to be developed in the near term.

For this reason, we'll move this to Not in pipeline however should anything change this we'll certainly share an update with you all here.

  2. Instead of having 2 separate reports for Aged Payables and Receivables, there should just be one report for each, and a drop down/toggle to switch between the detailed report and the summary report. Not the biggest deal, but would make things a lot more fluid and easier. Could be replicated across other reports too to simplify the process, and make the "reports" section much tidier and easier to navigate.

Thanks for sharing your idea for a dropdown to switch between the detailed and summary versions of the Aged reports.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

In the meantime, did you know that you will find the detail/summary version of the report listed in the Related reports section of the left hand panel when running a report?

  3. It would be nice to be able to select "year to date" when choosing comparison periods of quarters or months on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Right now the only way to do so is to manually do the math on how many months back the fiscal year end began, which is especially inconvenient for entities with non-calendar year ends.

  4. Can the list of favourite reports be set to default to always include the Trial balance (at least with Advisor rights). As an accountant I always run a Trial balance report and have to manually set this as a favourite on every client I log into. I also regularly use the accountant transaction report and Aged payables and receivables which are already default favourites.

If there are any updates we'll share with you here.

  5. I would like to produce an Aged Receivable custom report that includes the NZBN number which is held in a contact file. While I can manually pull two reports and manipulate them in Excel, there is always room for error doing it this way.

  6. The ATO are pushing hard to collect debt, and as Accountants we want to keep a finger on the pulse of amounts owing to the ATO for our clients.

At this point in time, i am not aware of a report we can generate through the ATO portal which tells us ALL the debt which is owed by our clients, across all their accounts, Tax, GST, Super etc.

Yes there is an integrated debt report we can run, but it only shows the ICA debt. By accident if someone has an ICA debt and a tax debt both will appear…

Hi Richard, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand how having a report that shows a client's total ATO debt in one place could make it easier for practices to monitor outstanding tax obligations and prepare for client conversations.

We'll keep on monitoring the interest on this idea. If this is something you'd like to see, please keep voting and let us know what information you'd like to be included in this report.

  7. In Cash Flow Manager (Reporting / Cash Flow Manager), once a Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount has been entered, you cannot edit the date that it is received/paid in the cash flow.

You can edit the start- and end-date for recurrence, but the date it is received/paid is locked to the date set when you first added the Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount.

Please allow the date that the amount is received/paid to be edited.

  8. A specific App or button for trades and construction businesses to use to produce the reports needed by the QBCC annually to be compliant and maintain their trade licenses. Annual compliance and reporting to QBCC for construction businesses is a complex procedure, but I am sure everything they ask us to produce is available in Xero. If Xero could create an easy method to provide this information at the click of a button, it would save a lot of time and money at the accountant's office. When you are not a numbers person but a tradie, the compulsory annual reporting…

Hi Skubi, thanks for your feedback on this idea. We understand that having a dedicated QBCC Annual Financial Reporting package could make it easier for Queensland construction businesses to prepare the reports needed to meet their compliance requirements.

I've shifted this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking interest. If this is something you'd like to see, please keep voting and share how a dedicated QBCC reporting package would support your reporting workflow.

  9. Team Xero
currently TB report shows ending balances for current year in db/cr two columns AND in single column Clubbed up remaining balances +/- in when COMPANRED to previous periods.

I propose/request IT to make TB more classic by

    1. showing ALL remaining balances in two columns DB/CR when comparing previous years
    2. OPENING and CLOSING balances columns to be available (year selected from starting of fiscal year Jan20xx)
    3. TB report to ALLOW us to SELECT RANGE of dates (Range based TB)
    4. MOVEMENT (total Debits Total Credits) for the selected DATE and/OR RANGE should be available. CURRENTLY this is available in GL…

Hi Yaseen, thank you for this incredibly detailed and well-thought-out suggestion for the Trial Balance report.

We can see how much manual work you're doing, combining exports from the GL Summary Report, just to create a "classic" comparative Trial Balance for your auditors. That's exactly the kind of difficult workflow we want to help improve.

Your proposal to enhance the report with separate debit/credit columns for comparatives, clear opening/closing balances, and a movement column for a selected date range is very clear.

We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you. We've reviewed your idea and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how these reporting improvements would help them during audits and financial analysis.

  10. I would like to be able to hide accounts on the Fixed Asset reconciliation report so that I don't have a page full of Fixed Assets accounts that have no assets attached, and haven't been used for years.

  12. If I record sales tax paid on purchases in the US, Xero reports that as a negative liability on the balance sheet. It should either be reported on the P&L or the line item it applies to should be grossed up on the P&L.

Hi Camille, thanks for sharing this idea and the context behind it.

We can see how having a dedicated way to track US sales tax on purchases could make it easier to manage reporting, reconcile costs, and maintain visibility of tax paid to suppliers.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support, so if this is something you'd like to see in Xero, please keep on voting and sharing how this would support your workflow.

  13. Tax repayments on UK Tax Returns are automatically offset against the January payment on account, even when it's requested to be sent by cheque or bank transfer. There should be the option for this to be shown separately on the calculation as it will confuse clients when they want to know what is due for payment in January.

  14. UK Self-Assessment Tax Return - reporting dividend information.

On the 2025/26 self-assessment tax return in the section for employment, if the company is a close company further details need to be added such as whether any dividends were paid during the year and the shareholder's % ownership in the company.

I note that the help box relating to percentage shareholding of close company refers to "if no dividends were received, enter 0". This doesn't reflect what this section refers to i.e., percentage shareholding. So the help box needs updating.

Hi Simon 😊 Thanks so much for taking the time to share this and for explaining the issue so clearly. We can see why this is confusing — the help text on the percentage shareholding field refers to dividends, when that field is actually asking for shareholding information.

We appreciate clear guidance is especially important in this area, so we’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can keep tracking interest and feedback while this is reviewed further. Thanks again for raising it and helping us improve the experience.

Thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you.

We've reviewed your idea to show the Trial Balance by category and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.

In the meantime, did you know that you can group the Trial Balance by 'Account Class' or 'Account Type'? Whilst not the exact functionality requested, these options allow you to split the accounts up within the report.

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  17. When looking at the profit for the current year in a multi currency situation, Xero just uses the conversion date of the report for the lump sum of the year, rather than the exchange rate from each month and then adding them together. This means anyone who has been entering the info into a larger group on a month by month basis has to consistently make forex adjustments, even though they have used the Xero rates of exchange in all the prior months P&L's.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. The idea is to have the report reflect the historical monthly exchange rates already used in prior period reporting, helping reduce the need for manual foreign exchange adjustments when consolidating financial information.

Thanks again for sharing this feedback. We appreciate the examples from the community around how this could make multi-currency reporting more consistent.

  18. Include Invoice numbers for payable payments and receivable payments in reports.

The information is available for payable invoices and receivable invoices but is missing for the payable payments and receivable payments. Reference information is carried through but not invoice number information.

Thanks for bringing this to us Vicki. We have moved this to Gaining Support so others can vote and comment and we can gauge community sentiment. Please note, if you do downgrade to a ledger plan you can publish reports prior to this so you have the data, but we acknowledge that you can't access live data.

  20. Aged payable report - please add drop down in the filter - bank account number detail. This would be helpful to cross check bank accounts before getting to the 'create batch for payment' especially in schools where we have two people to authorise accounts.
