  1. Why does Xero not pre-fill the Private Health Insurance information of someone who is on their family's PHI?
i.e. a young adult/teenager who is still on their parents health insurance. (Code F on the tax return).

I am having to manually enter the information every time I create a return for one, which is frustrating given that the information is already on their ATO pre-fill report, and it prefills fine for their parents.

Hi Emily! We really appreciate your feedback on this. At this moment, the information we pull is directly from the ATO exclusively for one sole return, and so won't automatically fill into the young adult/teenagers return as you've found.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

We'll keep an eye on any traction this gets in the community and will keep you updated if there are any updates. Thanks.

  2. The Account Transactions report, following a programming change in June 2026, now provides incorrect totals where there is a mix of revenue (credit) and expense (debit) values. In effect the credit values - which are shown without brackets - are treated as debit values in the overall report totals n.b. credits for expense accounts, shown with brackets, are dealt with correctly within the report totals. Having raised this with support, I've been told that this is a 'feature' of the report and to use/develop a different report (GL Details report) instead. Be wary using any report totals!

  3. The ability to compare two budgets is available but I want to be able to compare a full year forecast that is comprised of actuals YTD Plus budget for the remaining periods with the full year overall budget , this doesn't appear to be possible. Comparisons actual month v month budget, actual YTD v Budget YTD and Actual YTD+Budget v Full Year Budget are a standard requirement and currently not possible in XERO.

Thanks for sharing this idea, Lorna. We understand the request to add a full-year forecast column to the Budget Variance report that automatically combines actuals year-to-date with the remaining budget for the year.

This would allow users to compare their projected full-year result against the original full-year budget directly in the report, without manually combining actuals and remaining budget figures.

I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would improve your forecasting workflow, add your vote and share your use case.

  4. Hi Xero Team,

I would like to suggest a feature enhancement that would greatly benefit users in the Philippines.

Currently, when generating reports (such as Transaction Reports, General Ledger, or Contact-based reports), there is no option to display the Tax Identification Number (TIN) and registered address of contacts as columns.

Including TIN and address fields in report columns would significantly improve efficiency and accuracy in preparing BIR compliance reports such as:

    • SLSP (Summary List of Sales and Purchases)
    • QAP ( Quarterly Alphalist of Payees)
    • SAWT (Summary Alphalist of Withholding Taxes)

At present, users need to manually extract or cross-reference this…

Thanks for putting this forward. A Profit and Loss report that combines cash-basis income with accrual-basis expenses could be useful where the reporting treatment differs between income and expenses.

I’ve moved this post to Gaining Support so we can continue gathering feedback. If you use this type of reporting, let us know why or when such report is required.

Hi Sasha, thanks for bringing this idea to the community.

We can see how being able to add additional reports to the Reconciliation Reports Pack could make it easier to create a more complete reporting pack without needing to generate and combine reports separately.

I've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support. If this is something you'd like to see, please continue to vote and share which reports you'd find most valuable to include in the pack.

  7. Ability to enter search criteria for time entries and then make batch edits to the selected entries. Similar to the find and recode function for accounting transactions. Sometime projects change and/or split into multiple projects. Please add the ability to search for time entries by date, employee, project name, task, etc., and returning a list of the time entries that meet that criteria; select the time entries desired and then make bulk edits to the selected items.

Hi Roger thanks for sharing your idea, and letting us know the changes that matter most for you. We can see how this idea can be helpful for some users. The best way indeed is to describe it as Find and recode for Projects. We've reviewed this idea and moved it to gaining support. Its upto the community now to get behind it. We will continue monitoring it for more traction.

  8. Summary items tally at the bottom of the report page incorrectly includes the header - meaning the tally is always one to many. For example the Payroll employee summary report, or any report, for 3 staff in total will say 4 items at the bottom. A quirk that means your quick view of a report is always out by one. A quirk that can be removed as the tally is wrong and therefore no value.

Thanks for sharing your idea, I can see how relying on the report's line tally could result in an additional employee included in the count.

  9. It would be nice to be able to select "year to date" when choosing comparison periods of quarters or months on the balance sheet and profit and loss statements. Right now the only way to do so is to manually do the math on how many months back the fiscal year end began, which is especially inconvenient for entities with non-calendar year ends.

Hi Ali, thanks for putting this forward. We understand the ask to surface ATO error messages more prominently in the return screen, so users can quickly see what needs attention without needing to navigate through logs or other areas of Tax.

For now, ATO lodgement error messages can be viewed in the History section of the tax returns, with option to expand the error message for more details. These areas provide the full error details, although we appreciate this may involve additional navigation depending on your workflow.

To be upfront, we don't have any short term plans to change how this is currently displaying in Xero Tax. However, if this would improve your process, please add your vote and share any specific examples of how you’d expect this to work in your day-to-day filing so we can continue to gauge interest.

  11. Uncoded transaction report only allows you to pick all accounts or a single account in the filters.

I have a client who has 10 accounts but only half of them are current and non personal accounts. I either have to run the report 5 times or have the report being 13 pages long.

It would be good if we could select multiple accounts in the filters.

Hi Victoria, thanks for sharing this idea. We understand that having the ability to select multiple bank accounts when running the Uncoded Statement Lines report could be useful for reviewing specific accounts without including all results.

The idea is to add a multi-select account filter for the Uncoded Statement Lines report, allowing users to choose specific accounts and create more focused reports for review.

We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this reporting improvement useful.

  13. When reviewing quarterly and annual figures from the Profit and Loss report’s account transactions, we currently have to click into each Xero Me app expense to see the description and confirm it’s coded correctly. Expenses entered via bank feeds or bills display descriptions properly in the Account Transactions report, but Xero Me submissions do not.

This inconsistency makes it difficult to quickly identify and verify transactions without drilling into each one. Competing platforms such as MYOB, QuickBooks, and HandiLedger display expense descriptions consistently, regardless of how the expense was entered.

An internal workaround suggests entering the description manually in the…

  15. In Cash Flow Manager (Reporting / Cash Flow Manager), once a Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount has been entered, you cannot edit the date that it is received/paid in the cash flow.

You can edit the start- and end-date for recurrence, but the date it is received/paid is locked to the date set when you first added the Projected Recurring Cash In/Out amount.

  16. I am sure this is a design flaw that will be corrected shortly as its astonishing to see, the quarterly income and expenses PDF report needs an identifying name on the report. Once saved not in Xero it does not have anything on it to identify it.
    This needs rectifying with haste.

Thanks for sharing this idea. We understand how useful it would be for exported MTD for IT Income and Expenses reports to clearly identify the relevant client or business, particularly when reports are saved or shared outside Xero.

We’re moving this idea to Gaining Support so we can gauge interest across the Xero community. If this would improve your workflow, please vote for the idea and share more detail about how you use the report and what information you’d like to see included in its title or header.

Community feedback will help us understand the impact of this request and inform our review. We’ll share updates here as the idea progresses.

  18. Hi Xero Team,

I'd like to suggest a small user interface improvement that would significantly improve the reporting experience.

The Accounting Basis (Cash vs Accrual) fundamentally changes the meaning of reports such as the General Ledger, Trial Balance and GST reports, yet it's currently hidden under the "More" menu.

As a business that reports GST on a cash basis, I recently spent several hours reconciling my BAS, General Ledger and Trial Balance because I unknowingly compared reports prepared on different accounting bases. Once I discovered the hidden setting and changed the report to Cash, every figure reconciled immediately.

    The Accounting…

Thanks for bringing this idea to the community. We understand the request to make the Cash or Accrual basis option more visible when viewing financial reports. A prominent indicator could help reduce confusion when reviewing or sharing reports with clients.

  19. Both the 'Finalised' and 'Filed with IR' boxes are the same colour, and both pieces of text start with 'F'. Twice, I have experienced glitches where I file the return with IR, it appears to have been submitted, but the status simply changes to 'Finalised'. Would it be possible to change the colour of one to a different colour, to help highlight the different states? Or change the text from Finalised to something like 'Approved/Ready to Submit'. I understand this is minor, and partly user-based, but I do think it could be helpful. Thanks!
