New Purchase Order View - Add and remove addresses manually
The new PO rollout has removed the ability to add AND SAVE an address manually.
Previously we could manually add an address and SAVE IT - meaning that it could be re-used while needed. Now we can only add a "Once-off" address
As a builder, we send PO's with Site addresses, not addresses existing within our saved Contacts.
This means I now have to either create a "Contact" just for a Site address
OR
Manually type the Site address EVERY SINGLE TIME I create a PO
We URGENTLY need the ability to create, save and eventually remove manual addresses within PO's again
Hi team, thank you for your continued feedback and we understand the importance of this change for some customers (especially everyone that's voted here). I want to assure you that the ability to add and a save addresses in the new Purchase orders experience is in the works and our product team are aiming to release this within the next couple of months. As soon as there are further updates I'll share news with you here.

Reply to @Rebecca Rotheram: I've tried that route but get as far as the 'new' green button, then there is no option to 'add purchase order'. It just gives me a new contact to complete with nowhere showing purchase order. Is it possible to screenshot where you are at that point please?

@Rebecca Rotheram, thank you!!! Just had a look at your suggestion and, as a temporary fix, that looks to do the trick! Shame it had to come from you figuring it out rather than Xero!
Kelly, this is really getting silly now. Xero has taken away the minimal functionality there was for multiple delivery addresses and multiple contact addresses with little more than a pat on all of our heads as to when this will be addressed and fixed. Is there not enough people screaming at you for a basic feature in which is present in most software systems?
Please provide a serious, real response as to timescales and long term permanent fixes.

I think I found a temporary fix. If you click on contacts > supplier name > click 'new' green button > add purchase order
This then brings up the old purchase order format. You can then add a new address on there. It saves into the list of addresses for when you next do a PO in the normal bills route

I raised a new case and have been told that they are working on it but it seems to be a 'how long is a piece of string thing' for if it will ever actually be sorted. I am not sure how much urgency there is for fixing the issue.
This was what they said:
"I want to be completely direct with you regarding the timeline. While this feature is currently in active development, we do not have a confirmed release date yet.
We’ve made the call not to set a hard date until we are certain the feature is stable and working due to the complexity in the background of the program. At the moment please keep a eye on the below product idea where the team will update this."Has anyone looked at any PO add ons that are more effective? I think the Xero offering is pretty poor anyway as you can't match the invoices to the PO. Potentially looking to get something else integrated to fix the issues.

Kelly, please URGENTLY advise update on this feedback, what is the status of getting this changed? We have not heard anything back since the issue was brought to your attention 11/02/26 (the first posting from Rebecca) and a few have since raised the same issue.

Why has this still not been rectified?
Multiple delivery address for each client is vital?!?!?!
If the address was not loaded before this update was applied then any new address are not being added to the PO Address library available. Where is the database in Xero that stores all these addresses? The don't appear to be within the customer files? How can we now add future delivery address? Also how can we amend the addresses that are already saved in there from before the update? - If you pick an address you cannot amend it?!
So many issues with this update causing frustration, lost time and more room now for errors. We can add an address to the customer details through the contact section but again you can only seem to have the ability for one address loaded there? You must have all the PO address stored in Xero somewhere in a database but not linked to the clients customer file?
Getting frustrated with the "NEW and BETTER" system - Please get the Tech guys to look at this an reinstate the PO Address Database. They are obviously stored in Xero but we have no access to them!! Either more capability to add multiple address to the customer file or allow the addresses to be added to the database in the PO system.
I feel like these sections need to be linked to each other rather than stand alone sections within Xero. SUGGESTION - Put a box where you can add the Customer before the delivery address as this information is already in Xero - Link to the PO to the Supplier and Customer not just the suppler? Then allow more customer address to be loaded to customer files?
The only way we have managed to tackle this issue is doing a one off address and then doing Copy PO to keep the same delivery address but this opens up the chance not changing other crucial information IE Supplier/products/prices ?!?!?!
Please sort this out! -

Raised another case.
This issue is being ignored. The ability to have multiple delivery addresses has been asked for by Xero Customers for years and has been ignored. Why? And Xero has removed the only workaround with their latest PO update.
Kelly, why is this not being addressed? No feedback from Xero regardless of the number of requests on here.

NEED the ability to add multiple delivery address for POs and Invoices. Utterly bonkers that the ability to add addresses manually has been removed. Even more absurd that you cannot have multiple delivery addresses. Antiquated. Limiting. Steps backwards with new PO format.

I had the conservation with the Xero sales guys at a show on Wednesday about the PO issue, they appeared to have no idea of what I was talking about (shock!).
Maybe Xero are more add-on focused but that doesn't suit very client, especially those that have used the software for years!
Getting rid of these small features is a nightmare for some businesses, development need to listen and improve asap.
Just when I thought I had the perfect package, I feel like the tide might be turning again in the UK accounting software world. NOT IMPRESSED!

Hi Richard, Great Idea. I have just raised another support case.
I know from experience that Xero aren't customer focused and customer support is virtuality non existent. Hence, no customer service contact number or email address.
No update on this issue raised over a month ago!!!!
Appalling service. -

It's now a month since everyone raised this issue and still no action from Xero. Can I suggest that everyone raises another support case to get some pressure placed on Xero as they seem to believe that 'Product Ideas' are things we'd quite like to see at some point rather than a critical loss of functionality.

Hi Kelly Munro - it has been over 3 weeks now since you said the team were looking to reverse this change (or at least look at it). What is the latest - this change is incredibly frustrating.
thank you -

We are coming up against this issue also, it's incredibly frustrating and seems very shortsighted to remove this functionality.

I don't understand why Xero would remove something as pivotal as this feature. Seems elementary

We are in construction also. I am shocked this feature has been removed as part of the update. I am now having to add a contact for each of our construction sites. Yet another 'improvement' that nobody wanted and is actually a downgrade.
