Appreciate the screenshots and detail in your idea. While we've released an updated line item grid when viewing a saved/approved invoice in new invoicing, this is still being worked on for the edit page. We know being able to see the full Tracking option and Account name is important to our customers and this is something that we're working on and will be coming soon. I'll keep you in the loop of when this goes live.

Appreciate your input here, everyone. Our team is looking into this idea however, they don't have any dates planned on when they’ll develop the ability to schedule emails.
Totally understand how this feature could benefit your workflow though, being able to schedule an email to send during acceptable hours, so you don’t have to remember!
Rest assured that our eyes are on the ground monitoring your feedback and votes here, so please keep adding them in this thread. For the time being, I’ll move this idea into ‘Under review’ status. And if there's any movement, we'll make sure to come back here and let you all know.

Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on this here. Through testing we found that majority of our customers would Approve and email an invoice at once, which is why this was developed as the default in new invoicing. That said we appreciate others would like a different action as their primary option.
While we don't have direct plans for adding the ability to set a default for this action, we're listening to your feedback and looking into how we can improve efficiency and speed things up for you when using new invoicing through the use of keyboard shortcuts. We'll share more news when we've confirmed what this shortcut looks like and are closer to providing this to you all.

Appreciate the feedback and including a screenshot of the notifications you're getting on the invoice, Andrew. Just to make sure I fully understand your idea here - Are you saying that rather than seeing the pop up you'd like to have these added as history events to the invoice?

For those of us who work heavily on complex and lengthy invoices, please allow us the ability to turn off auto-saving as this is going to cause huge issues when you don't want to save the changes made.

Appreciate your feedback, Ximenes. To better understand your idea here, can you share what you would like to happen when you click on this link? E.g would you expect this to open the contact in the same page and shift away from the invoice?

This means you now have multiple tabs being continually opened and forces you to keep closing tabs which is just another useless step added to our workflow

Hi everyone, to keep you updated on this idea work in this space will provide the ability to add a new blank row to your invoice one at a time. Once added you'll also have the ability to drag and drop the row to where you'd like it placed in your invoice, which we know some customers use to help format their invoices and space lines out.
I appreciate that some customers have mentioned wanting to add multiple blank rows at once, and want to be open that this isn't planned with this release.
Being under development atm, we plan to have this to you all before classic invoicing is retired and I'll be back as soon as it's out to let you know, here.

New lines now have to be added one at a time in new invoicing and you can't add subsequent new lines without adding text into each line which slows down adding multiple items. (add a new line button to be reintroduced)

Hi community, thanks for getting involved here and letting us know the importance around being able to see the details whenever an invoice is sent from Xero. We understand the importance of this to our customers and our product team are beginning to review this idea to solve needs in this space. An error occurred while saving the comment Melissa Fowler commentedWhen re-sending an invoice it now doesn't show that you simply emailed the invoice again, instead it shows that you have 'updated' the invoice which isn't the case at all. Not helpful when reviewing the invoice history during AR processes.

Hi all, we thank you for all sharing detail on your experience when using new invoicing in Xero. Taking this on board our team have been reviewing the line item grid where you enter details in new invoicing. We have work underway to improve and address points raised such as providing a more compact layout so you can see more at once, showing full account and tracking names, and more direct options to reduce clicks and steps in common actions.
For the time being, small adjustments can be made to your computer scale or browser zooming to see more detail at once, although we understand this is not the ideal solution.
I'll return to let you know when we're closer to release and can share more of the changes.

Hi team, I know it's been a while since my last update and we'd like to confirm that our team are working to address your concerns, here. We'll be providing quicker access to the calendar picker for both the invoice due and issue dates. Work's underway atm and we plan to have this released to you all before classic invoicing retirement. I'll swing back again as soon as it's ready 🙂

Thanks to everyone that participated in and shared back on the team’s research in the new invoicing layout. Taking your feedback on board our teams have made some improvements to the layout of new invoicing, including changes to the layout of fields and buttons.
By rearranging and condensing space between fields, you’ll find there is less white space than previously shown, making it easier to navigate and tab through fields when entering your invoices.We’re actively looking into changes within the invoicing grid that’ll go further to condensing information on the screen and reducing actions when entering your invoices. We’ll update as there is more information to share on this.

Obviously bookkeepers don't spend hours staring at this screen *sarcasm*. I also hate having to scroll right to view all fields, such a horrible 'improvement' to classic invoicing.

We appreciate wanting to see more rapid movement, everyone. Having done a lot of exploration into this area our team have a good handle on the needs to solve this, however we want to be honest that development will be some time away with the team currently focused on improving bills list views and updating add/edit bill pages. For the time being to keep you up to date we're going to move this idea back to Submitted until more active work takes place for this.
I can assure you this idea is the best place to be leaving feedback for this feature, and Xero Product Ideas as a whole is the best place to be sharing where you'd like to see change across Xero products. As a community team we're advocating on your behalf constantly to see where ideas can be worked on, and this site is where our product…

I have tried today to email a June 2024 invoice reminder to a customer - obviously Xero thinks I'm trying to revise it within a locked period when all I'm doing is re-sending it. Refreshing the invoice shows the invoice was not sent due to this perceived error, this is a huge issue for small businesses simply trying to chase an outstanding invoice payment.
