We need the ability to select different emails for different things.
We sell to different departments in a company and each company in xero has its' own contact. Therefore we need to be able to send invoices to specific persons in each department e.g.
- Invoice xyz to Person A
- Invoice abc to Person B
- Invoice qwe to Person CWe also need the ability to send bills for a contact to a specific email, invoices to a different email and remittances to another email, and statements to another email again. Every department of our customers and clients require different email addresses for different things and they are super annoyed when we don't do this.
We would be able to do the simple admin side of things if XERO had more customization with contacts alone.
I understand there are many other areas that need improvement as well.

Please add this feature! We are a fabrication business where every job is made in projects and the guys have to allocate their time to projects everyday. Then they also have to do their timesheets. Something is ALWAYS forgotten. The guys also don't appreciate having to fill both out because it feels like double handling.
We have multiple projects every week that are completed and invoiced out so assigning costs to projects is imperative. Without it we can't continue as a business because costs must be allocated otherwise reports do not disclose true profits. Hence future quoting will be incorrect if based on historical project time entries if the time entries have not been correctly entered.

Thanks for your support and joining in this idea. We get the challenges involved in manually chasing up employees to complete timesheets each pay period.
Although it's not the integrated solution you’re looking for, you could look to set up recurring calendar events or using external communication tools to prompt your team members.
We want to be transparent that we don't have any plans for adjusting the existing notifications for timesheets.
We'll continue to monitor this idea, and should our priorities shift in the future we'll let everyone know here.

Please add Timesheet reminders, it is a simple and easy way to remind all staff including those who may be away the day prior when everyone is verbal reminded.
It is a tedious task trying to get everyone to fill in their timesheets is to the point you don't want to pay them because then maybe they will do it.

Hi everyone, I'm pleased to share that we're moving forward with the ability to schedule the send of an invoice from Xero.
We're in the early phase of releasing our new invoicing scheduler to customers, and appreciating the direct interest you've all shown here we've included everyone that's voted on this idea in our initial rollout!
You'll see a tool tip on the invoice page for email scheduling, and be able to choose the right date/time when you go to email an invoice (from the send email dropdown). 😊
We're really keen to hear your feedback.
We appreciate there are asks within this idea for being able to schedule the send of other document type such as payslips and want to be upfront that this isn't in the roadmap at present. However, once our invoice scheduler is out to all, we'll be monitoring it's use closely and consider how this…

Thanks for your idea, Sarah - We'll get a sense of the interest here.
Perhaps in the meantime you could look to use the Archive and restore options for an account in your chart of accounts as a way of managing this?

Hi everyone, thanks for continuing to share the details behind your workflows here. We wanted to return with a meaningful step forward for this idea. As some users may have seen, we’ve released the ability to request a Deposit in Xero!
Enveloped in this we recently made an improvement to this so businesses can now set a specific due date when creating a new deposit, and that due date is shown clearly on the deposit request your customer receives.
We appreciate this doesn’t yet deliver the fuller outcome many of you describe here, such as multiple due dates across a full invoice, broader instalment-style payment schedules, or trade-term arrangements on a single invoice. But it's progress in this space.
I’ll be back to confirm once Deposits is completely released to all markets and share how we plan to evolve this further.

And the option to add deposit invoices and partial invoices where the invoice number could have -1 or -2 for every additional invoice but the system can recognise they are all for the same job/item.

This would reduce a lot of confusion for both our staff and customers! We often request a 50% deposit for our major projects and then the remaining amount on delivery.

This would be great for those invoices you make by mistake, they should have never been made in the first place and to able to completely delete them is much cleaner. Also it prevents confusion in the future if or when you have to go back and look at something.

Hi everyone, we appreciate the number of users that'd like to see more mechanisms to assign and control who approves specific employee's claims.
Our product teams have a close eye on this idea, and while this feature is not in the roadmap atm, they'll keep reviewing this as they continue to plan and prioritise work for Expenses. So, if there us any shift in status we'll share an update to keep you all informed on the idea, here.

Timesheets and Time entries into projects need to work together. Everyone is essentially putting their time in twice which is double handling and annoying.
Different parts of Xero need to work more congruently.

This is such an important feature that needs to be added to projects. We have just realised ourselves that all previous reporting is not even a close representation to what actually happened because of this issue.
Please fix this!

Thanks so much for sharing your feedback on this idea, community. We appreciate that having to manually select attachments on every invoice can feel a little fiddly. We get that you want a smoother workflow, that saves you time.
As noted by others in the idea, one option for now would be to add standard files, like your terms and conditions, directly to your invoice template. That way, they'll be included automatically when you send out your invoices.
To confirm how this functionality currently works - this is based on the user and driven by the last invoice that was sent. Where you have files attached, and you had selected to include files as an attachment when emailing the invoice, the next invoice you send with file attachments should have this selected by default.
A caveat to this is when you are working in incognito mode, or refresh your browser…

I agree with Robert, being able to make it default for some contacts and leave others out would be the best option.

Hey everyone, we thank you for the detailed feedback on improving how leave requests work for part-time employees in Australian payroll.
We understand the value of shifting the task of adjusting hours to employees, freeing up payroll administrators’ time for other priorities and we also appreciate the points raised around accuracy and compliance.
While we don’t have current plans to deliver exactly what’s been suggested here, our product team is continuing to focus on developing working patterns within AU Payroll. Based on what we’ve seen in other regions, this'll likely address many of the needs discussed here.
We’ll move this idea to Not in pipeline for now, but we’ll keep you posted on any updates that could help achieve what’s being asked.

We are a manufacturing company and this feature would be used everyday for us. At the moment we are wasting so much time duplicating item lines and breaking everything down in order to be able to assign the right amount to a designated project...Please update with this feature.

Projects - Invoicing and Inventory (Manufacturing)
The tracking inventory really needs an upgrade. At the moment the only way to reduce the amount of inventory is by creating an expenses invoices. However, our customers do not want an invoice with a heap of lines and 10 pages long. We do everything in projects and add our inventory there. Why does this not automatically reduce our inventory count ??? And then if the item is removed from the project because it wasn't used then this would increase our inventory count back again.
At the moment projects invoicing options could be improved if the inventory tracking was also improved. It would be good to be able to invoice the product that has been made. We make large robotic tractors and a project will have many man hours and items.
Another option or additional idea to add would be the same as suggested above which MYOB has...The ability to 'build' a new item using other items. This idea could also translate into 'Inventory Sub-items'.
It would also be good if we had more viewing options. For example, only tracked items or if you have advanced tracking if you could view a single department/warehouse.
Another idea would be to translate new costs of items. When we receive a bill and enter the items the prices change so we override the stock items price but this doesn't translate to the inventory item itself. Hence price changes are inefficiently updated.
The aged receivables and debtor reports.
