Many of my clients are partnerships and trade using the partners initials e.g. J & J Doe but on their reports it displays as %26 and on emails that they are sending with sales invoices, it displays as "& amp;" meaning that when I save reports or they send their invoices, this has to be changed. Having worked in a software house previously, I know that this is a programming issue and one that should have a relatively simple fix so can you please look at this.

  2. When you go to add a bill it does not give option to upload.

    Can shortcut keys not go on top to show add new bill upload new bill? it would be much handier

  3. It would be really useful to be able to tag users in the notes of documents, like to create a task or ticket so they are aware of whatever is needed to be changed/be aware of regarding a certain bill.
    Otherwise an internal communication/ ticket/email needs to be sent, this would simplify all the daily work and make the notes actually useful

  4. With the old Invoice system, the message will correctly prompt the email address for that contact. If I choose instead, to send the message to another contact email first, I simply clear the prompted address and begin to type the intended address and the full address is usually prompted after typing the 1st 3 letters. Is there a way we can make the NEW INVOICES do this? Surely this can be done in the new Invoice Format..???

  5. New NZ GST return - brings up the GST return for the wrong entity.
    This is not a new idea, but a critical flaw in the new GST return that needs to be addressed right away. I have gone to support and they confirm that it is a Xero issue. "Currently, the Product Team have confirmed it’s not possible to work on multiple GST returns across multiple browsers using the new GST return." Then they said the best way is to put the idea on this page, so here goes.

  6. You can only allocate payment on accounts to a customer ledger on Xero by clicking 'Overpayment' which is very long winded. Please can this be simplified to select the customer and then allocate straight as a 'payment on account' and then this can be allocated to the invoice once this is uploaded.

    In addition, if there is money out that gets contra'd against money received from a client, there is no way of coding this to the customer ledger.

  7. I would like to be able to see sales totals on a simple table on the Xero app. I simply wish to see monthly sales totals as well as year totals per selected year. This helps me to get a quick snapshot of how my sales are increasing or decreasing, and also to view sales trends by month.

    We have several client contracts which include 5% price increases per annum. It would be great if you could create a repeating invoice and specify a percentage to increase the amount by on its next repeat

  9. Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices.

    We provide a subscription service which some of the 470+ customers have been using for years.

    At times we make changes to T&Cs, the wording, rates, payment services etc. and it would be extremely times shaving if we could do bulk changes i.e. change the Item, Due Date, Reference, Payment Services etc, without having to go into each repeating invoice individually.

  10. Add a total invoice amount at the top of the screen like the old invoicing format. It's a pain to open an invoice and have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the total amount of the invoice, especially if it's a long invoice. The old invoice format shows the invoice total at the top of screen

    While we don't have any direct plans for adding a total back at the top of the invoice, it'd be good to get a sense of the interest if this is important to others in community here, too.

    Though I appreciate it's not a solve for the idea. To help speed up getting to the bottom of the page on those lengthier invoices, Julie you may find using the 'end' button on your keyboard helpful 🙂

  11. It's good to see you have extended the period before removing classic invoicing because I still need to revert to classic for certain features that are missing from the new system, namely:

    1. The ability to copy invoices to Bills and PO's - this is an important feature that I use regularly
    2. Send invoices via Xero network - again this is a feature that has been useful especially for invoicing between subsidiaries.
    3. Save and continue feature, I don't like the auto save feature because it continues to update the history and notes while I am still adding details to the invoice…

  12. As a Chartered Accountant, I’ve observed an issue in Xero’s handling of sick leave entitlements that I believe warrants improvement. Currently, if an employee is not included in the pay run closest to their sick leave entitlement date, the entitlement does not accrue. This creates a significant gap in compliance with employment obligations and adds unnecessary administrative burden to correct.
    To enhance the functionality and flexibility of Xero's payroll system, I think that sick leave entitlements should automatically accrue when the employee is included in any future pay run following their entitlement date. This adjustment would ensure compliance with employment…

    Thanks for your feedback of how Xero handles sick leave entitlements, Natalee.

    I've made sure this is shared back with our product team, and while we can understand the reason for change you'd like to see here, we want to be open that this isn't something we have planned in the immediate future.

    Right now, if an employee isn't included in the scheduled pay run when their leave anniversary date falls, you'll need to do a manual leave adjustment to grant the employee the missed entitlement.

  13. Could you enhance customer accounts by automatically adding outstanding amounts from previous invoices to the next issued invoice as a separate line item called 'outstanding fees'? This ensures customers can pay the full amount due, not just the current invoice.

Today is May 17th 2024, there are currently 300+ ideas, suggestions, and requests here related to Projects, few of which have even been responded to by Xero. It seems clear that Projects is the red-headed step-child of the Xero platform, always the last to the table when the development team starts talking about updates.

  15. Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.

    The product ideas section show, only in it's first 5 pages, 43 product ideas about new invoicing. Many of these product ideas are requests for previously available features to be made available again. Many of the ideas are under consideration or being worked on.

    Appreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.

    Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

  16. Please remove invoice links from Statements, this is causing us huge problems or at least give an option to remove.
    We are requesting like many others that Xero remove invoice links from statements, as they are causing significant issues.
    Our company uses a Project Management system to issue invoices which is integrated with Xero, and we need control over the information provided to customers.

  18. Remove all account codes check box upon financial statement publishing

    We need this check box added when we publish our EOFY financial statements - a similar box already exists to remove all decimal places yet we have to manually go to the trading statement, income statement, balance sheet and equity accounts and manually turn off account codes on each page.

    A simple box to remove all account codes when publishing just like the decimal place box would be fantastic

  20. If a client has overpaid an invoice, or paid an invoice that has been voided/credited, when Ihave reconciled the incoming payment as an Overpayment, I would then like to be able to create a Bill from this payment so that the refund it sitting in Bills Awaiting Payment.
