  1. I would like to have more reference columns for both invoice and credit note.
    It would be good if we can actually be able to state PO no. and reference separately.

The ‘fresh new look’ you have decided to give invoice emails is garish and on the verge of being offensive/pushy - WE ARE NOT A FAN! - and we have been told that this cannot be adjusted!!!!!!!!!!! - REALLY!!!!!!???? - not impressed!!!!! - give the option to amend this or put it back to as it was, please!!!

  5. Would like an option to request a % deposit for a job when creating a single invoice. I know it can be done in Job/projects, but my jobs are not large enough to have to create a project in Xero for each job. I would like to just create a single invoice which requests a deposit and then final payment when required.

  7. It would streamline workflow if there was a feature that allowed us to store a client's credit card on file and when a single invoice is sent out to the client, the business can charge the card on file.

    In previous invoicing systems, I was able to "store" a client's credit card on file and then invoice and charge the credit card on file. This is an important feature for my business as it removes the burden off my clients for paying the invoice and reduces the amount of follow up on my end for collecting payment.

  8. It would be a great ides if holiday could be worked out in Days and not just hours - especially for those who work on a number of days holiday.

    Personally my staff members wont appreciate having to work out how many days leave they have left as we dont work in hours!

    So please bring a days option!!

  9. When a selecting the new invoicing platform, you lose certain functions.
    The first function that has been lost is the ability to copy invoice data to a purchase order - this feature needs to added to the new platform as some business use this to purchase items that have been sold from a supplier and makes sure there are no errors.
    The second function is when invoicing from Project the time entered for that project is no longer being allocated to an invoice and showing in the project as not invoiced, this will cause doubling up on billing.

    Hi community, I'm pleased to share with you that the Product team are investigating the first part of this idea - to copy invoice data to a purchase order in new invoicing. There's a few other bits of work lined up before they get to this but we'll be sure to return with an update on progress once there's more news 📰 

    As for the second function raised here, when you raise an invoice from Projects that includes tasks, time entries or expenses, if you change the project field on new invoicing the connection with Projects will be removed. To correct this, you can either void/delete the invoice and recreate it from the project or manually mark the time entry/task/cost as invoiced.

  10. Ability to create an invoice template that saves the line items, e.g description, quantity etc
    Instead of having to manually enter the same description for each new invoice created, just save it as a template. Not just as a branding template.

    Hi Morgan, if you have common inventory and services you trade, you could look at saving these as items to your Products and services. When invoicing you'd simply use the Item column to find and select what needed to be included in the invoice, saving you time from having to enter repetitive data. 

    Appreciate there is a little hurdle if you're looking at adding 'description' only lines with new invoicing atm and this is something we're looking into and you can follow updates for this across on this idea

  11. Can the new invoicing template show the address like the old templates used? Now if you go into edit the addresses have disappeared and to check if it is correct you have to click on the contact and fix it in a new tab.
    Also the notes section has removed the time stamps and the email address the invoices get sent to. Can the new invoicing have the same notes and history function as the old one.

    Hey community, just a quick update to let you know the team are currently working on the ability to show the email address that an invoice was sent to, in the History & Notes! We'll pop back to confirm it's been delivered in the next few months 😊

    As Kelly mentioned in our last update, viewing the timestamp of history items on an invoice is a separate idea started across here. And, it looks like a separate idea has been raised for the last part of this original idea New invoicing | View contact address. Feel free to add your vote to those ✅ if they're changes you'd like to see.

  12. Customer Statements - Would be good if customer statements could include a prepayment balance somewhere on the statement. My client receives a lot of prepayments and would like customers to be able to see at a glance their remaining credit.

  13. In New Invoicing, I need the ability to view the files in the file library prior to attaching them to an invoice, as I can do in Classic Invoicing. This is because when received into the file library, the files aren't always in the same order as they were scanned. I tried attaching a file using New Invoicing and it wasn't the right file and, because I couldn't return the file to the file library, I had to rescan the document back into the file library. Without the ability to view files prior to attaching them to the invoice, users…

  14. In Classic views if there was an Adjustment to Tax it was quite obvious when the Invoice (or Bill) had an adjustment to tax. Compare that to the new Invoice screen where there is nothing showing that this adjustment exists.
    It must be sitting in the database somewhere as its shows in classic invoicing.

    Could this be added back into new invoicing plus could there be a report or filter that could show invoices or bills that have an adjustment to tax?

  15. Whilst creating or editing "normal" bills, archived Products and Services don't appear in the Item pick lists to choose from. However, when creating or editing Repeating Bills ALL the Products and Services appear in the Item pick lists, irrespective of whether they're active or archived.

    With many Products and Services archived (we have to renew them all annually), this makes the resetting of our Repeating Bills very labourious and makes the chances of making errors many times greater, as we can accidently choose archived Products and Services.

    This looks to be a bug in the system that needs rectifying quickly.

  16. I would love to see a newer updated "look" similar to what Freshbooks or Quickbooks Online has. They have a very streamlined look. I like how they have the tabs on the side that say "invoice" and "expenses" without having to go through the dropdown menus.

  17. We use many xero accounts, and for two of them, when accessing the invoice link, the invoice appears first, followed by a "PayNow" card payment option in the top left corner. However, for the other two accounts, the card payment window appears first without the invoice, which causes inconvenience to customers. (Of course, there is a download option at the bottom right.) Please change the settings to make the invoice appear first.The specialist can't fix this, and the different output seems to be a xero system issue. Please fix it soon.

    Hi Rex, there's an option within Email Settings on each of the sales invoice templates you have set up where you could deselect 'Include action to online invoice and detail summary'. This will strip back the look of the email a bit but this means the pay now, or Review and pay link will stop showing and instead you can just include the link to view the online invoice for your customers. 

    I'd recommend having a try and sending yourself one fro the demo company so you can see how this appears.

  18. Currently after adding a payment, the page goes to the Sales Overview - Invoices. It would be good if (possibly just as an option) it returned to the actual invoice I was adding a payment to.

    Thanks for your feedback on new invoicing here. Good to understand the features our users find most handy. The team are looking at many improvements they can make to continue to enhance this experience for our customers. While we can't commit to development as yet, this is something the team are looking into and we'll keep you updated of any progress of this, here. 

  20. I'd like to suggest/request that when loading a line item on an invoice that is a negative, that the quantity is loaded as a negative and not the value. We have created a Delivery Note template that excludes the values (see attached), as a requirement from customers that do not want this info displayed on the d/notes. Obviously then, any negative quantities do not show as such.
