  1. Ability to add "description" column on the individual contacts page. We often need to look through a supplier/customer to quickly see what types of purchases/sales we make, so having descriptions on this page is needed. Currently we have to run a report which is an unnecessary long way around.

  2. Needs 'Are you sure' pop up for Deleting Contact Files

    Its too easy to accidentally delete a file attached to a Contact. Needs to be an 'Are you sure you want to delete ...' pop up when deleting.
    Especially as it also doesn't populate in the history/notes section that anything has been deleted.

  3. EORI numbers are required for all European customers especially when invoicing/shipping goods. It is an extension of their VAT numbers. Please can XERO create a new field on the contacts for this. We are recording this currently in the new notes or "FAX" number so it shows quickly. Are Fax numbers still necessary?

  5. Customer lifetime value report.

    I would like to see date fields that you complete when you onboard and archive a new customer. Then it would be easy to work out the average lifetime value of your customers (CLV) using the “income and expenses by contact” or other report.

  6. We have 1,782 “Archived Contacts” from mergers with other data following adoption of Xero Practice Management. The vast majority of these archived clients have the reference field completed with a 6 digit reference that we would like to re-use for the current clients.

    Unfortunately the reference field needs to be unique and so we cannot apply this reference to the current contact until it is changed or deleted in the archived client.

    Please can we have a bulk delete of the reference field for all 1782 archived clients (or add an extra digit if you cannot simply delete the reference…

  7. If Xero or a partner organisation should encounter issues which may lead to data integrity issues, we should receive an email alert or some kind of notification.
    e.g. issues with Bank Feeds whereby there are duplicate or missing transactions. This has occurred a few times and we have only discovered, retrospectively, about the issue.

    We don't use Xero each day and certainly don't visit the Status page every day, such issues may well not come to light... by the time we visit the Status page a problem is quite likely to have been resolved and the status shows as OK,…

    Hi Sharon, recently we released a new feature in Contacts that will enable you to add a note for a contact that can be visible from a contacts record - Right hand panel meaning you could add any detail about contacts that you receive payment from at the time goods & services are supplied in this field. 

    Is this enough to solve your needs here? 🙂

  9. I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
    Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be

  10. Please can Xero consider adding a Customer Statement option that shows payments as totals (not splits per invoice allocation) as found on the bank statement.

    Many businesses have customer accounts that are paid towards or caught up regularly in round bulk amounts that do not neatly match individual invoices.
    In these cases customers getting statements showing their payments as splits cannot easily or intuitively see the amounts that they paid on specific dates.

    Hi Jessica, it'd take some customisation of the Statement advanced docx. template but it is possible to remove fields from showing that may cause confusion or are unnecessary for your customers. 

    You could look at removing the 'PaidAmount' field if this is not required and just keep the 'Balance' and 'Amount' fields. 

    There's a discussion over in Xero Central where there are others in community who often help with making changes ti advanced templates and maybe of help here. 

  11. We need to export donations from Xero to our CRM system. However, matching on Name is looking very difficult but we could add either the CRM ID to the Contact record as their Account Number, or their email. However, I can't find a way of exporting a csv containing the date, amount, and either email Account number. Can this be added?

  14. You are currently unable to see the projects within the contacts tab against a contact within Xero.
    This would be really helpful as I have some customers that have several projects on the go at one time. This would make it easier to go from one project to another for one client. It would also be a quick reference location. The added quotes, invoices and credit notes added to the contact has been a great step in simplifying contact management - the project listing would complete the loop.

  15. We often use the quick search feature in Xero, and it is often used just to get the client code for files. It would be incredibly helpful if the client code populated next to the client name in the quick search bar to make it easier to see

  16. You can now create a contact from an invoice. Great, this was overdue.
    Why stop at only allowing some of the details though? Weird.
    Now I have to go back into the contact and edit it to add Company name etc.
    It's just creating more work when I could have done everything from the one spot.
    Please fix!

  18. it would be great if there was a tick box for being to select if a contact wants to be excluded from marketing contact. if there was a tick box, it would be handy to be able to generate a report showing those who you can contact and those who have opted out, and being able to export that data to excel. i know xero is a finance platform rather then a direct crm however it just seems that for small businesses especially this would be a great tool and as xero does generate reports and exports to excel anyway…

In the new contact view, everything is spread out, with lots of wasted white space (similar to the bills list without 'compact view' toggled, or the list of repeating bills (which doesn't have the ability to be compact in view). I can deal with the info I need to pick a transaction to open being on complete opposite sides of a widescreen by pulling the contact into a new window and reducing the width of that window until it's readable without excessive twisting of the head (a poor workaround for an ergonomics risk, but it's the only one I could…
