  1. Set Overpayment Allocation Date:
    Currently we are not allowed to change the date when an overpayment is applied to an invoice. It is allocated to the issue date of the invoice.
    The inability to change the date when allocating the overpayment to an invoice is causing problems where payments are now being applied to a closed sales tax period, which in turn causes the need for sales tax amendments and additional report filing.

  4. The "Details" tab lists the employee's age under the "Date of birth" field.

    Having "Employed for # Years & # Months" below the "Start date" field would be handy. It would give a quick, "at a glance" look at how long someone has been employed by a business for estimating notice periods and anticipating imminent entitlement to LSL.

    Attached is what the "Date of birth" currently looks like (I've used my own name and birth year) and a mock-up of what I'm suggesting might look like.

  5. A field/box to enter the purchase order number when entering bills

    We use a separate system for creating POs and would like to record our PO number in a dedicated field when entering the corresponding bill(s)

  6. Add the ability to navigate through payroll with keyboard shortcuts. Currently tab takes you out of the input fields rather than navigating to the next available field, which is illogical from a UX perspective. It would also be beneficial to have shortcuts for 'save' and 'save and next' rather than having to navigate down and click next.

  7. Can we please add the ability to set up a sub-category under category options?

    For instance, we have already tracking categories by store locations (i.e. Loc 1, Loc 2, Loc 3). However, we need to have a sub-category per Deputy's area (i.e. FOH, BOH) under the store locations.

    Category option: Loc 1 (Store Location)
    Sub-category option: FOH, BOH (Area)

    If we could set up a sub-category under tracking options, that would be great. Thank you!

  8. NZ Payroll - update minimum wage increases automatically

    There are other payroll system they do this, and with the minimum wage requirements changing every year, there should be an automatic update or prompt to change anyone who is affected by this, to avoid the error in not paying out correctly as per the legislation,

  9. We tag documents for organisation in Hubdoc, but have no visibility of these in Xero, which makes no sense. These don't need to be editable, but it would make sense that it showed what tags were on an invoice. Even if this was detailed in the history of the invoice. This would be a massive time-saver!

  10. We have dozens of parent companies with underlying subsidiaries who place separate orders for separate locations, all under the parent company's credit line/name. These all split into different contacts in Xero when they come in from our order processing system. We need Xero to support hierarchies/parent-child relationships/nested orders, so that all purchases can be aggregated to the parent company, both for tracking overall credit use and for sending consolidated statements that include all purchases from all "children". We work with BigCommerce who has a BundleB2B feature that allows these kind of parent-child hierarchies on the client-facing side, but we can't…

I am suggesting to IT team if they unlock drag and drop copy cell from above cell from mouse that feature would be very appreciated and may help to all user to easy invoicing and bill that help to time saving while enter multiple similar details in invoice or bill.   12. I've been using your Bill.com integration for the last couple of weeks and I already had to reach out to Xero support twice to make a simple change in Bill.com settings. This requires the user (me) to open a case in Xero which subsequently has Xero support open a case in Bill.com (and then Xero support going back and forth between Bill.com and the user).

    There should be either:

    1. a settings page within Xero for all the Bill.com settings and variables or,

    2. Ability to have credentials on Bill.com to update the Bill.com settings.

  13. For Spend Money entry, I have two elements that would speed up entry:

    1. Prefill the last entry for that Contact. Most venders (e.g. "Uber") will be the same expense type over and over. Having the 1st item prefill from the last entry will save time.

    2. Right now "Save" is essentially "Save and Close" -- and then "Save & Add Another" creates a new blank item. I would like "Save" to stay on the same screen, so I can then use "Copy" from the "Options" menu to enter the same/similar item.

  14. Hi, on the mobile app, it would be really helpful, if when reconciling bank entries, when xero comes uip with its "suggestion", that is also displays the VAT line. Saves having to go into the suggeestion edit and check VAT is applied correclty

    Hi everyone, returning from my last update I wanted to confirm that we have released generative answers in Xero in app help for all customers.

    We appreciate this isn't a direct live chat feature that is being asked for in this idea and will move the status back to Submitted, however we'd recommend giving this a try when you're next looking for an answer while working in Xero.

    This feature takes into account what page you’re viewing, and the version of Xero you use, to do the best to ensure that the information provided is relevant to you.

    Live chat is not something we have planned at this stage but if any steps are planned toward this, we'll let you know here.

  18. In instances where a contact is both a supplier and customer, can the system merge all transactions onto one statement for ease of reconciliations for the contact.

  19. After the customer accepts the quote, we need to book the work in. It doesn't get invoiced until the work is complete. It would be helpful if we could add an "Expected Start Date" to quotes after they've been accepted, or at least be able to mark it as "Booked".
