The new Grow subscription only allowing for one employee is really tough for accountants operating in the micro-business space, as many of the small businesses that I have been working to get onto Xero are either married couples or two business partners who need exactly two payroll employees, with no intention to grow beyond that number.

    Having to jump from Grow to Comprehensive just to add a payroll user is prohibitive for a lot of my clients, and knowing that this is the case is stopping me from recommending Xero as a product where it would have been a no-brainer…

  2. Limited Projects Users should be able to print a timesheet. Those who are subcontractors require their own records, and this saves duplication. Clients often require timesheets to be signed, and the person who entered the time is usually the best person to arrange this, however they cannot do so unless they can print their own timesheet.

  3. IDEA - CIS suffered report to calculate the CIS suffered correctly.

    ISSUE - If you apply a credit note to an invoice that has both CIS labour and CIS materials, Xero does not calculate the CIS suffered correctly. Even though the credit note is coded to the correct nominal code, Xero doesn't recognise this. This causes the CIS suffered report to reduce the deduction amount which is incorrect. This means the figure you submit to HMRC is lower than it should be. Meaning less of a refund of CIS suffered than it actually should be.

  4. It is not possible for CIS returns to be marked as filed when submitted outside of Xero, resulting in historic returns showing as overdue.
    It would be helpful to mark CIS returns as filed when submitted outside of Xero, as is currently possible with VAT returns.

    Thanks for confirming, Jeremy. It sounds like the Gross and Net columns that can be included in the Account Transactions report would provide what you're after. Let me know if there's something I'm missing.

  6. Under classic invoicing I can share invoices across the Xero network between Xero entities from different countries (in my case, Australian company invoicing a USA company) Why can't this feature be available under the new invoice format (I don't see what eInvoicing actually has to do with it)

    First time I've seen Xero take a major step backwards (I now have to spend more time doing the same job... well done folks)

  7. Hi, It would be great to see customers who exceeded their credit limits on the dashboard. We push sales invoices from third-party app therefore we don't see alerts if someone has no credit limit left. If we could see a list on the dashboard we could act immediately. Thanks

  12. Leave Request emails to show Organisation Name.
    Currently, leave requests that come directly from Xero for an employee does not show which organisation the employee is from.
    I have multiple businesses that I have payroll access and it is quite hard to recall all staff names from all businesses.
    The subject line should show Jane Doh from XYZ Pty Ltd has requested leave. This would make identifying the company much simpler.

  13. Aged Receivables report - Include collector notes. Or even a "flag" to show there are notes in the background. (similar to the * expected date * which is on the "invoices owed to you" report)
    But to allow free text.

    To have a column in the aged receivables detailed report where you can add a brief note of most recent contact - to provide update when reviewing the clients
    Curently we export the report into excel and make notes in excel (outside of xero).

  14. I would like to request that the parameters around the business snapshot ratio's (specifically current ratio) exclude long term loans that are connected to a bank feed.

    Currently if a long term loan is connected to a bank feed it must be allocated as "Bank" this then over rides any account type or account mapping settings otherwise designating the account as a long term liability in regard to ratio's. Xero simply assumes if it is "bank" it must be an overdraft or credit card and therefore is a current liability. This deems any ratio's within the business snapshot relying on…

  15. New Invoicing - currently wont allow me to send an invoice (as a reminder for payment) if it is in a locked period. Which i don't understand as it is not affecting the accounts in any way.
    It is very time consuming having to download and then email from google, rather than straight from Xero as before.

  16. What's most wrong with the new invoicing template is that the most useful features have been shifted to to the bottom of the layout , so you have to scroll to the bottom to use them. Also the default of approve and send is not the best option , approve would be better ( or perhaps a way to choose that box default would be terrific. Also to attach files , all the way to the bottom we go, thats crazy . also the size of the template is too big , it needs to be more compact its adds…

    Thanks for feeding back to us here, Mark. I want to assure you our product teams and leadership are very attentive to the feedback we've been receiving from customers on the new invoicing experience and we're committed to improving this.

    It helps for each of the points you've raised to be tracked separately so our teams can consider the votes as a factor when prioritising and planning development, as well as keeping the communication clear of the changes we're making.

    Many of the things you've shared are being worked on and we have separate ideas for these that I've listed below and welcome you to join and vote for each, if you'd like.

    Trying to get a better view of the placement of buttons that you mentioned - would this just be the Attach files option or is there another that you would like to see shifted above, too?

  17. Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

My Idea: Somewhere to enter a prepaid annual or longterm expense (ie Insurance) that can first go into a Prepaid Expenses asset account and then set to either expense at regular intervals until "used up" or able to manually expense as periods come to a close. This manager would help keep track of all prepaid expenses in one place and would keep a running balance for each item. Viewing options would include being able to filter/sort by item (ie 2023 Insurance Premium), or by type (ie software subscriptions) or by expense account (ie Insurance Expense).

  19. IT would be really good to have the capability to add 'optional' items to a single quotation -

    • example #1: supplying in quantities of 10, 25 and 50,
    • example #2: there are five items in the 'basic quote' but the customer may choose to add items 6,7 and/or 8 but these aren't a fundamental requirement to include.

    If there is a quotation tool, then being able to offer customer flexibility is important as issuing multiple quotes can appear unprofessional
