  1. Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.

    Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?

  2. To create a credit note from an invoice without applying it to the invoice.
    Currently the only option is ‘create and apply credit’.
    We refund first then generate the credit note. So we need to allocate the invoice to the customer receipt, then allocate the repayment to the credit note.

    Generally this is a time saving mechanism, not having to then apply the credit to the invoice. Appreciate the detail of your workflow Susan, as definitely makes sense in what you're trying to do here. 

    We'll start to get a feel for the interest around this here, and in the meantime - Not sure if it still suits your flow however if viewing invoices from the Awaiting Payments list, if you don't need to open the invoice, you could use the 'New Credit Note' option from here. 

  3. We would like to be able to capture non-financial (eg head count) and statistical numbers (eg Order Book) in Xero and add it into Xero reports alongside the existing financial information for management reporting
    Currently it seems that accounts that are added automatically appear in the Chart Of Accounts.
    Could another Account Type be created that allows memo accounts to be created outside the CoA?

  4. Please add Recap Transaction found in MYOB.
    The feature allows you to see which accounts will be affected (debited or credited) by a transaction you're about to enter. Seeing what effect a particular transaction will have on the accounts allows one to know the outcome of transactions with accuracy. This is a powerful feature that can prevent incorrect entry of all kinds of transactions. See attached screenshot from MYOB

    Appreciate not the exact feature you're looking for here and will be good to get a sense of the interest of this here. In the meantime, I wanted to make sure you can find this information once reconciled. Those with the Standard or Adviser roles can run the Journal report to view recent impacts to accounts and the user that made each change. 

  5. In QB you can "create a deposit" and in each line item, you can assign a customer, assign a GL account, class & amount. (there is also a line to assign to an invoice/customer ledger if you use those). You can then print a deposit slip from this as well!
    PLEASE make this function available.
    It is a hassle to enter every check or payment into "Receive Money", then have to go back and try to match up all the correct payments to the bank deposit in the bank reconciliation.
    But if we don't do it like that, we cannot…

  9. Greetings, is it possible to add a "Make a Deposit" option to the + Menu in the task bar? We've studied the batch deposit procedure, and it seems cumbersome. It would be helpful to have a simple process to click Make a Deposit from the main options, have the Undeposited Funds account appear, select items from the Undeposited Funds account, choose which account to transfer funds to, and save the deposit with the option to print a deposit slip and summary. If you already have this process in place, I would like to learn it, please. Thank you.

  10. It would be great if the Contact Name placeholders could populate the name of the individual person receiving the email rather than just the primary person for a contact.

    ex. I have a contact name for a child with the primary person being Parent 1 and additional person being Parent 2. Would love if the Contact Name placeholders could address the email to each Parent 1 and Parent 2 independently instead of just addressing Parent 1 in both emails.

  12. It would be very useful to be able to separate Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable to classify the contacts between external and internal (intercompany/group). This would assist with the consolidated views for a group of entities.

  13. Please can the hyperlinks to Credit Notes appear on the statements of customer accounts? We have so many queries to send credit notes after statements are sent out because there is no hyperlink to it on the statement, time consuming and unnecessary.

  15. At present when you create an invoice and then use the triple dot menu and "get Link" option you are presented with a overlay which gives you the Invoice link that you can give to the customer. But this link includes an extra querystring parameter utm_source - I want a setting that stops this being added to any links.

    The links currently look like this:
    https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXX?utm_source=newInvoicingGetLinkButton

    And I want them to look like this:
    https://in.xero.com/XXXXXXXXXX

    They are long and ugly looking with the UTM parameter and current I have to remove this manually from every link. I also think adding…

  16. When using the new Avalara auto taxes, the options are now show every line item tax rate, even if it's except. This is not right. Tax Exempt lines should show Exempt, just like they did with the manual tax entry. My clients are confused why every line item shows a rate rate, even if it isn't being taxed. In the business AND accounting world this is not right. Only items that are being taxed should show tax rate.

  18. In the customer under account transactions it shows the list of invoices and payments. Against unallocated overpaymentsit shows the status of 'Awaiting Payment' why? we are not awaiting the payment it is shown there.

    Awaiting allocation maybe.

    Anyway this caused confusion for our sales guy who had goods arrive for a proforma customer, he saw 'Awaiting payment' and thought they had not yet paid so he did not ship the goods, (Accounts were not in to tell him) He did not see the words overpayment or even if he had, he was not accounts so would he understand it?   19. Currently, it appears that Xero is not authorised by Portuguese tax authorities for use with a company in Portugal. As we run a business in the UK using Xero, it would make sense to also use the same accounting system in an authorised fashion in Portugal.
    Could this be done?
