  1. When looking at a list of transaction, for example in Bank Statements, it can be hard to visually identify where transactions relating to the current month or any month begin/end in the list.

    When viewing such lists, by simply adding a darker separator line at the end of each month, and maybe an even darker/wider one at the end of each Financial Year (or indeed by having a slightly different background colour/shade for alternating months), it would make visually identifying months so much easier.

    Please can we have such a feature? It would make life a lot easier for many…

  3. Occasionally when doing data entry in Fixed Assets we have typed a depreciation rate of more than 100%. It would be good if there was an error message preventing this.

  4. One of my clients has suggested that it would be useful to be able to see the contents of the purchase orders on Xero without having to open them to find items ordered. In the same way that a salary is hidden but pops up when a mouse is hovered over on the payroll employee tab, the information on a PO could pop up.

    Opening them all is very time consuming.

  5. Online Quote - Expect the quote be view directly even is a custom branding theme.

    Purpose: The reason we said "online quote", means no matter what the customer can view online. But now it's limited due to the organisation create their own theme which is not fair.

  6. Improve Text Formatting - Invoicing

    • Ability to change all text to caps, lowercase or sentence case (like Microsoft word feature) to enable more consistent, professional invoicing in less time. For example when adding multiple billable expense lines.

    • Ability to sort invoice lines by the headers, i.e. description (alphabetically), by price or amount high-low etc.

  9. Stop auto creating contacts during reconciliation of transactions. I'm only 1 month into using Xero, I have 75 contacts in my list, but only 6 actual customers. When I go to create a quote, and go to select the contact, I have 75 nonsense contacts I need to sift through. I know I can begin typing my contact name and it should pop up but I can't always do that. Theres just no need whatsoever to save that mom and pop gas station I went to 1 time in the middle of nowhere to my contacts list. I can only…

  10. Allow manual selection of portrait or landscape layout for Budget Variance report. You currently need to have 8 or more columns beside the GL Account column for the report to automatically change orientation from portrait to landscape. 7 columns squashed on to portrait layout causes textwrap. It would be great to have the option to manually select portrait or landscape orientation when editing the layout.

  11. Can the VAT account be split into two, a method that Sage utilises?

    A vat control account and a VAT suspense account.

    The VAT suspense account will show the balance of the Dr or Cr of vat payable or owing from transactions included in the VAT return, this is where the Vat payments to/from HMRC are posted.

    The VAT control account shows the balance of transactions where input/output VAT has been realised from invoices raised/received, but are not yet included in the VAT return typically because the the company is operating the VAT cash scheme.

  13. It would be good to be able to search the expenses to make sure that duplicated expenses are not submitted. Also it is really difficult to see what the expense was for and what the supplier was. Also it is really difficult to change any i8nformation on an expense as soon as it is marked as paid.

  15. Add a total invoice amount at the top of the screen like the old invoicing format. It's a pain to open an invoice and have to scroll all the way to the bottom to find the total amount of the invoice, especially if it's a long invoice. The old invoice format shows the invoice total at the top of screen

  16. In my business it is common for orders to be eg 10 bags of 25kg bags with prices $xx/kg. As far as I can see there is no field for pack size, ie 25 in the example. Also a product coming in range of sizes is easier with 1 description and range of pack sizes. Then would want functionality to have total line quantity and total line cost calculated from the 3 parameters.

  17. If an item has been billed manually or your stuck with some items in billable expenses you have to open every bill and remove the client from the items that are have not been billed.
    Could you add a tick box selection in the Billable Expenses - Outstanding so that you can then select a remove billable expenses from multiple bills in one go.

  18. Hey Xero, there seems to be a lot of issue and complaints about new invoicing. How about giving us all a break and re-enable the old invoicing till you get thing sorted out.

    • Cant stop auto save , there is no undo button if you make a mistake.
    • Tabbing between fields is not the same.
    • Can't add expenses and leave them un-allocated to a GL, I know that the expense is @ cost price and needs to be completed. -Cant change the Customer with Billable expenses assigned without loosing the billable expenses and have to re-assign them

I assign expenses from Bills to Clients and that cool, but when the client say can you invoice it to a different company it removes the billable expenses and I have to go back to all the Bills and re-assign the expenses to the new client details. Why can it not just ask to leave the billable expenses rather than delete them. I takes a long time to go back over 5-10 Bills and re assign them.

  20. I invoice repeating clients a few times per month. My process is to pull the past invoice - to be sure they were billed in the prior cycle, and to copy that invoice to a draft invoice so I keep all the formatting and wording in the invoice, and can adjust quantities as needed. When the original invoice is copied to the draft format - the due date does not adjust according to the clients payment terms set up in their contact info I need to pull an approved invoice - re click on the invoice date in order for…
