Hi everyone, our reporting team have released enhancements to both Payable Invoice Summary and Details reports to enable you to be able to bring Purchase Orders in to view as a Source.

Along with this, they've also provided common formats to easily view all Purchase Orders, or outstanding Purchase Order at once!

Thanks again for your feedback. We know this has been a highly anticipated  feature for community and we appreciate your contributions.

  2. open attached files (especially PDFs) in the current window (same as old invoicing), not in a new tab which is automatically happening with new invoicing.
is frustrating as you now need to go back and forth between tabs if you want to transpose info from the attachment into the invoice.
Much more user friendly the old way with a resize-able/move-able viewing window within the same tab

Hi team, thanks for staying tuned into the idea here for update of files preview. Our team have released a change, and you'll now find when you 'view' a file attached to an invoice this'll now show a side by side view so you can transcribe any detail as needed from the attachment to your invoice. ✨

Hi team, as an update to my last post, we have now rolled out the Leave Requests report in UK Payroll. This report lists the details for leave requested, approved and taken, for all employees or can be run for a singular employee, and will help when planning rosters or work schedules. Payroll Admins will be able to find and access it through the Reports Centre found in the Accounting menu. We're aware that the Leave Requests report does not meet all of the requirements as outlined in the comments of this idea, and we have created a new idea for a Leave Transactions Report. We will track interest of this idea and keep an eye on this separately, so please do join and support if this is of interest to you.

  4. Can I also please say, how frustrating it is that you can not now attach a file to a contact from the file library. This is how we have always attached our end of month creditor statements, that are emails to us, we have always forwarded these directly the file library, re name as required and then attach to the contact from the file library when completing the checking process for each creditor. This now will mean that statements can not be forwarded directly from the creditor email but will have to now be saved into a PC desktop file…

    Hi team, we've now released the ability to upload files directly from your computer to a contacts record! As noted in our last update, you'll find;

    • The file library uploader option is now back on the Files tab of the Contact overview
    • We display all files (including previously attached ones) allowing you to attach a file to multiple documents (e.g. Contact, Invoices…)
    • We've enabled the ability to add multiple files from file library in one go

Thanks again for all your feedback around this and we appreciate you staying tuned to the idea here. 🙂

  5. We are seeing more emails that are sent from within Xero being flagged as Spam or put in Quarantine, especially if the recipient is using Outlook 365.

Xero need to implement DKIM to reduce the number of false positives like this. It's very easy to implement and the benefits to Xero users would be enormous.

Thanks all for you feedback on comments on this thread. We want to confirm that that DomainKeys Identified Mail (DKIM) is currently active for all Xero sending mail addresses used by the Xero platform and are regularly reviewed and updated. Since Xero handles the sending of emails from our platform there is nothing to be done from your side and can be assured that their is no risk to deliverability of emails as a result of the changes. Since there is no visibility of this change in the Xero UI we suggest those who still want further confirmation to review the Global DNS Propagation Checker which confirms that DKIM is enabled for all our regions. The best option if you're still finding mail sent from Xero isn't getting to a recipient or is landing in their spam or junk folders is to ask the customer to whitelist @xero.com and @post.xero.com…

Hi team, we're grateful for your contributions and support in the ability to run the Trial Balance report for a date range. In the last few months we released our new version of Xero's General Ledger report which can solve the underlying needs of what's being asked here.

With the General Ledger Summary and Detail reports you'll be able to get a view of all accounts with a balance. Mentioned by a few in comments there's the ability to include or exclude opening and closing balances from these reports.

Most fundamentally asked here - these reports can both be run across a common date range or a custom date range for extended periods.

    - Worth noting in difference to the Trial Balance YTD column, when running the new GL reports across a change of FY date range will show Net movement in the period and does not capture roll-over journals

  7. With the new invoicing the branding theme is not available which is an important feature for us since for different clients we had different branding theme. Can this be added to the new invoicing system? Please refer to the attached. We cannot switch to this new invoicing if branding them is not added and it seems in September we will not have a choice. Clicking on edit invoice is not a solution. This info was available with the old system without clicking edit invoice

Understand the sentiment and urgency in wanting this feature available. We've just released an update so now you can view the branding of an invoice when viewing. This is visible on invoices with Awaiting Payment and Paid status 🙂

Thanks for your feedback and staying across the progress with us here.

  8. The ability to see current month figures together with year to date on a trial balance report. This was possible on the old version of the trial balance but not on the new version.

Thanks for adding input and sharing how this idea could help with your business.

Taking on board feedback, and considering some of the changes we've made across reporting recently we wanted to highlight the General Ledger Summary report that can be set up to meet your needs here. 🙂

You can set up the new General Ledger Summary report to run for a 'Month' date range, and select to include Opening and Closing balances.

With this run, Debit and Credit columns will only show the movement within the period, while the closing balance will be the YTD figure for the account (showing as positive or negative).

If you find this handy, you can save it as a Custom report rather than having to set up the layout each time you'd like to run the report.

  9. The new invoicing/quotes is a terrible downgrade for the price fields. It is incredibly strict with regard to numbers that can be pasted. Generally for prices, we are copy and pasting from a spreadsheet or another database. These will commonly have a comma for thousands and a dollar sign. The new quotes/invoices requires these to be stripped out and numbers entered strictly like this > 1111.00. It's a major annoyance and time waster.

Hi everyone, thanks for contributing and feeding back on this idea. We appreciate the needs in being able to quickly enter data into your invoices and are continuing to build on new invoicing experience.

With a recent update we've released what you're asking here, and you can now copy and paste numbers that include commas (,), and currency symbols such as $ or £.

  10. Have the ability to use the search function, regardless of what you are currently looking at.

Right now, whenever you are in the Report section or the Fixed Assets section, you do not have the ability to search. You have to go to a different page, and then you're allowed to search.

Quickly following on from our last update our teams have been working hard to keep developing consistency in search. You'll now find you can search from any screen across your Xero organisation!

We appreciate direct feedback on the screens you wanted to see this capability such as Fixed Assets, Payroll, new Invoicing, Reports - Now, wherever you go in your org, you'll find the magnifying glass in the blue navigation bar. 😁

    Thanks for your support community!

Hey community - we're delivering this idea 🎉

The team have been testing a solution over the past few weeks. Off the back of positive feedback, we'll be rolling this out to 100% of Xero organisations.

It will be enabled automatically for all statements sent out. Thanks for all of your feedback on this feature!

The team are also exploring a solution to our other top-voted Statements idea, Contacts | Statements - View and Pay Online. We’ve shifted it to ‘Under Review’ for now.

Stay tuned there for more updates!

  12. In Classic Invoicing, you could copy an invoice to all sorts of things: Invoice, Quote, Purchase Order, Bill. See first screenshot.
In New Invoicing, you can only copy an invoice to another draft invoice. See second screenshot.
Please can you replicate the 'Copy invoice to a quote' functionality in New Invoicing?

Hi everyone, thanks for your continued interest here. We’re pleased to share that as of today start, end and unpaid break times that we recently announced is going to be rolled out to payroll employees using Xero Me Mobile, and will be available to all employees by the end of the week.

When using Xero Me Mobile, employees will be able to select a new timesheet setting which will allow them to enter start, end and unpaid break time within their timesheet, as well as enter a Note, all of which will be visible to the Payroll Admins using the web experience of Xero Me.

To add to this, we’ve updated My Payroll within the product to Xero Me to simplify the experience and create more consistency. Read these updates and more from product on the Xero Blog.

  14. Can the new invoicing template show address like the classic invoicing template does?
Classic invoicing - Shows company address and the person it is addressed to (Attention:) when viewing the invoicing from our end
New Invoice - Only shows the company name and to check if the address is correct and if the person it is addressed to is correct you have to click on Edit or download it as a pdf to verify it.
    Example Snapshots attached.

Hi team, with our latest updates to new invoicing you're now able to see your contacts address if they have one saved when viewing the invoice.

Appreciate the question around being able to edit the address and to confirm - you'll find in view mode you can click on the contact to view the contact card. If you'd like to edit the address click the small link in the top right of the contact card. This'll pop the contact open in a separate browser tab where you can edit and add a billing and/or delivery address. 🙂

  15. The 'old version' Aged Debtors report 'aged' the figures into months (as it should).
The new 'Aged Debtors' report does not.
If you run it at month end 'such as June' then the 'current' period' picks up 30th June, then the next period picks up 1st to 29th June.
It was reported to Xero support and their suggestion was......

Thanks for all your feedback on this one, community 🙂

Good news! Recently, we rolled out an update to all our ‘as-at’ type reports.

Now, you’ll notice that the report runs as at the end of the current month by default, and all of the invoices for the month will appear in the column you expect them to. The Current column will still contain any future dated invoices when ageing by Due Date, but will always be empty now when ageing by Invoice Date - See our before and afters

HI everyone, thanks for your engagement and support here. I know it's been a while since we updated and I'm pleased to be able to share the improvements we've made to add Invoice Number and Invoice Reference as optional columns to the Project Details report😁

When you next open the report, use the 'Columns' option to add each of these detail. You'll also find you can now Filter by either option too!

  17. General Ledger Exception Report

Getting new updates and new reports is fine but can you please keep this GL Exception report (old version) or else make arrangements to create the same report in the updated versions of General Ledger Reports.

This report is very useful and crucial for setting up work papers.

Hey community, thanks for your interest in this idea, and for sharing your feedback on the new reporting experience.

We’ll be rolling out a new version of the General Ledger exceptions report, and you should see start to see it pop up in your reporting centre from today 🎉

Unlike the older exceptions report, this is a dedicated report. So you'll no longer need to navigate to the GL Summary to find it - saving you a couple of clicks!

Hey everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback throughout this thread. It’s clear how important this feature is, especially for staff working split shifts.

I’m happy to confirm that our latest update to timesheets brings the multiple start, end and break times feature across to the updated timesheet experience, and will be available on both Xero Me mobile and web.

For more information on these updates, and some other improvements we’ve made to Payroll check out our Xero Releases page

When submitting an Activity Statement with a variation, they are often rejected by the ATO as the ATO recaclulates its own amounts and the submitted AS is rejected. There is currently no way for an end user to undo the failed AS to correct any issues for resubmission.

Hi community, as promised I'm back to confirm that the ability to revert a failed business activity statement back to draft is now live to all users.

Now, if your statement has failed to lodge with the ATO, you'll find an option to "Revert to draft" in the 3 dot menu icon next to the failed statement. When selected, the statement will be reverted to Draft status allowing you to correct it and re-lodge to the ATO.

Thanks for your input for this change 😁

As you may have seen in our Xero Blog post, we’ve rolled out support for start and end times in timesheets, and with this update comes the ability for staff to add in notes 🎉

As such, I'll be marking this one as delivered !
