Thanks for engaging and sharing your interest for enabling Xero to support STP and auto super for WPN payer withholders.
We want to be upfront with you all, that there are no plans to support this feature at this time. We understand this may mean looking for alternative solutions that can meet your needs at present. If there's any plans made in the future we'll communicate this through the idea here.

  2. Ability to view supplier activity including payments & credits within a period.

Purpose: Would help with validation and reconciling of supplier accounts, especially where payments are not specific to a bill.

We understand and value our community's enthusiasm for Supplier Statements.  Our product team recently engaged directly with several of our partners and customers to provide greater insights into the needs of viewing supplier activity, and how we might provide a solution.
What we discovered was that the majority of the functionality requests for viewing supplier activity exists within Xero today. However, we haven’t done a good job in explaining where and how customers can use existing  reports to complete the tasks. .
As a direct result we’ve created this help on Xero Central on some of the reports that you could use, and steps to create and export this view.
With so much change we want to help our customers re-discover Xero reporting, and you can read all about latest changes through our Blog.

Along with this there are a few product changes to make reports that support supplier…

  3. It would be good to have the option to update any repeating invoice if the contact email address is changed, whether it could be a pop up reminder to update the repeating invoice or automatically update it if it is the only address against the contact. This would save time and any errors if the repeating invoice is not updated

We value your feedback and appreciate everyone that's shared benefits found by being prompted of a change in contact email.

While this has been looked into by our Product teams, we want to be honest that we don't have plans for re-developing a prompt on repeat invoices when a contacts email is updated at this time. We'll move this idea to not planned, and if there's change for this down the line we'll be sure to return & update on that, here. Thanks

  4. Could you move the navigation buttons in the Financial Statements format (or any format with multiple pages) to the sticky bar at the bottom so you don't have to scroll to the top of the page to move between pages. some format pages are extremely long and it is a waste of precious time

Hi team, appreciate the interest and raising of the idea here, however we want to be open that this isn't something we have plans of developing for.

Atm, if you're quite far down the page you could use the home button on your keyboard to quickly navigate back to the top.

  5. What I like that you added:
    * Saving as draft!
    * New Due Date drop-down selections (e.g. 14 days)

    What I do not like:
    * No "add another invoice" option after save + print PDF, more clicks now
    * When save + print PDF, now opens a new tab that needs closed, more clicks
    * Cannot "copy" the invoice line "item" - I usually create many lines that I used to be able to copy & paste the "item", now more clicks
    * Too much whitespace and font too large, I want to be able to see the data w/o…

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on new invoicing. We’re listening carefully to all feedback to make sure new invoicing has the functionality you need, as we prepare for retirement of the classic version.
We recognise that some things will be different, so we encourage you to spend some time familiarising yourself with the new version. We also believe all small businesses and advisors around the world can benefit from Xero, which is why we’re deeply committed to accessibility. We’re confident that in time, new invoicing will become easy to use and that you’ll enjoy the benefits of us being able to provide much more value on that platform quicker.

There's some improvements we have made to enhance workflow. For example when you create a new invoice the cursor will begin in the Contacts field, from here you can tab through all fields of your invoice to enter detail. We’ve…

Thanks for sharing the idea here, however, we're going to move this idea to not planned as we don't have any plans of moving the placement of the 'Copy and edit' button within a report.

You'll find within all Xero's reports the bottom options bar is frozen, so you can find this option permanently on the page.

  7. More granular level for user access rights

I have seen lots of ideas around this same topic but worded slightly differently.

Essentially, the access rights are far too high level causing users to have access to tasks and rights to delete, approve when they shouldn't

Appreciate your looking through the forums and existing ideas, Tracy.

Although it might seem quite specific it does help to have detail of the specific permission sets and what is missing in the existing roles shared for each idea, and get a sense of the users that are interested in these differing permissions.

As you can likely imagine, with the number of features and different roles & responsibilities staff may have across businesses a matrices of options for every single permissions across every feature in Xero would be quite complex and cumbersome when  trying to assign what a user can or can't do in your organisation.

While we don't have direct plans for this level of incremental control, our product teams are definitely interested to consider the makeup of permissions within a given area or feature of Xero. I'd urge you and others here to add your support to…

  8. Bank feed - it would be great for small self employed businesses who do not need a full Xero subscription to be able to link their bank account and categorise their business transactions. Similar to Coconut so that you can link personal accounts and pull in business transactions that have gone through.

Hi everyone, thanks for engaging with us here on Xero Product Ideas. As you'll have recently seen in our communications - We have spent the last year testing and refining Xero Go and after completing a careful review to understand the future of the product, we found greater investment was required to meet the changing customer needs and expectations around the product.

As a result, we will be retiring Xero Go on 12 September 2024, and will move this idea to not planned.  We really appreciate the support from you all who have been using the app during this free period.

Hey Tanya, we don’t recommend running multiple payrolls from the same Xero organisation. As there’s only support for a single payroll account, business name, and ABN per Xero Organisation. This information must be included on each payslip, and would need to be edited prior to posting each pay run.

Posting payroll for multiple businesses from the same Xero Organisation can also have an impact on your record keeping, especially when it comes to finalising your STP and employee superannuation for the year.

Instead, we’d recommend setting up a new organisation for each new business you run payroll for. If you need multiple plans for running small payrolls, as a Xero Partner, you might like to check out our Payroll Cashbook plans.

  10. Is there anyway to retain the old report formats for P&L and Balance sheets post June 2023?
I find the new format not very easy on the eye and less user friendly. Can we retain the old format moving forward.

Hi everyone, appreciate the interest and feedback on the style of Xero's new reports. Being quite open, older style reports will be retired on 31 July this year (2023) and there will be no ability to retain and continue using the older report formats beyond this date.

We do want to hear if there are specific differences in the older styles that you'd like to see in the new and welcome you to start ideas for these individuals changes that we can gather support on and could be developed and reflected in the newer versions, but to be upfront here we'll move this idea to Not Planned.

  11. After creating an unscheduled payrun via the Payroll AU API when you get the payrun it returns an array of payslips where the employee id and payrun id do not exist (the only fields returned are FirstName, LastName & UdatedDateUTC). If you then proceed into the xero admin (in the browser) and view the payrun you can then click to include an employee. Returning back to the API if you retrieve the payrun again the employee id and payrun id are then set for that employees payslip entry.

We also tried creating approved timesheets for employees before the unscheduled payrun…

Hello everyone, thanks to those who’ve provided detail on the particular bank feeds you’d like to connect foreign currency feeds for.

Moving forward, we’re going to close this idea and encourage starting new ideas for each specific bank - This’ll make it easier for others to understand what they’re adding their support for, and enable our teams to get better insight.

As you’ve mentioned Westpac, we’ve created two separate ideas that can be joined - One for Westpac AU, and another for NZ here

As for the CBA, you’re now able to connect your foreign currency feed into Xero - Read more on our article here for more information.

If you want other banks to connect with Xero and enable the foreign currency feeds, you can let them know that they can register their interest by filling this form here

  13. New invoicing version makes me tick 'Include files as attachments' for every invoice I send off, whereas the old invoicing remembered my defaults. I prefer the old way where my preferences were saved.

New invoicing also cannot preview attachments, it always has to open a new tab to view an attachment. Old invoicing I could preview an attachment on a pop up within the same browser tab. I prefer just viewing the attachment quick within the same screen, I personally don't like having another tab that needs closing.

Invoicing notes are inaccurate. For example; the system keeps marking invoiced as…

Thanks for sharing your thoughts and feedback on how you'd like to see new invoicing developed. All your feedback here is being shared with the team as they continue to iterate and develop this new experience.

That said, in order for us to get a better understanding of interest for the different points raised here it's best for us to track and update any progress on these each separately. We appear to have ideas for each of the points mentioned in the thread here and I've linked these below so you can join and follow any updates for each.

Hi Peter, I'm sorry to hear the trouble you've had seeking help.

Discussions that you've mentioned finding is a community public forum and not a direct way to seek help from Xero Support. You'll find within the same site, next to the Start a discussion button there is an option to Contact Xero Support

Through this you can raise a cased directly with our team of experts where we have different specialists to assist depending on your needs.

While it's not an inbound phone line, you'll generally find they have quite a quick turnaround and can set up a phone call where needed

Having a response through your case also means you can look back on this and any resources shared at a later time should you run into a similar scenario, again.

I'm going to close your idea here as we don't have plans for an inbound…

  15. The variance columns in the current P&L reports don't make sense - increased costs show as positive variances, despite the red arrow. The formula is fine for revenue and profit, but needs to be the other way round for costs. Is it possible to have this, or to add a column with different formulae for different sections?

    Hi team, to confirm how the Budget Variance report works currently it'll show;

    • Green arrows for favourable amounts
    • Red arrows for unfavourable amounts
    • Increases in the amount from budget will have an upward arrow
    • Decreases in amounts from budget will have a downward arrow

We appreciate your feedback here however being open, there are no plans to change the way this logic is applied in the report, or to extend the arrow colouring across the figures/amounts in the report.

Hi all, while we have removed the Pay with Wise feature follow on from our last update we wanted to confirm that we have released UK bill payments in Xero.

Customers in the UK can set up direct bank transfer as a payment method for GBP bills to quickly and securely pay bills. Funds are transferred from your bank account by Crezco using open banking. The availability of open banking in the UK has enabled us to offer this on-platform. 🙂- Read more on our Blog

Hi everyone, there’s already a pretty wide range of accepted file types available for upload, listed here. Allowing any file type to be uploaded is not best practice from a security perspective, so we need to manage the file types available. For example, the XML file type can be used to perform a variety of attacks that we want to avoid to protect our customer’s data. For that reason we don’t have any plans to make the XML file type available. If there are other specific file types that you want to see, feel free to start a new idea per file type so we can gauge demand and assess associated risk.

Thanks for raising the idea here, Harshita. While there's a downloadable CSV for the Pay Item transition, this isn't something that's available for employee changes as part STP 2 transition.

The nature of the transition tool means you won't have to repeat these steps once rolled out, and being open with this we'll mark the idea as not planned.

Hello Community, as mentioned by Kelly in our last update - we really need to have more understanding of the specific SSO provider you'd like to integrate with.

That being said, we're going to close the idea here as being too broad. For example, we have an existing idea about Azure SSO here that you can join in and add your vote, if you’re interested in seeing changes in this space.

Hi everyone, we regularly review our pricing against the value we are providing customers and as part of our commitment to evolve and enhance the Xero platform.

We've been investing in the future and our platform foundations — which includes upgrading our technology across Xero to enable us to build more of the features you are asking us for, faster. And we're also looking at ways we can ensure you’ll have access to AI innovation and mobile upgrades. That means continuing to streamline time-consuming, manual processes – which you can see across AI-powered features like bank reconciliation.

While product ideas are a great platform for our customers to share where they'd like to see change across Xero, this does not determine if or when an idea will be developed.
Votes and comments help uplift where improvements could be most valuable to majority of our customers, and many factors weigh into…
