  1. Payroll Overview Dashboard - Can you please make this editable so that it can be customised to what details we want to see at an easy glance? Also the Calendar populates all 'holidays/public holidays' regardless of what state/country you're in. This should be customisable so that you can opt to only have your relevant holidays shown.

  2. When using quotes. When you go to a line in the description that already has information in it to change it or amend something, it highlights everything in blue and when you go to type/add/remove something, even if you think you have the cursor in the right place, everything that is in there disappears and you have to start again. This is very frustrating when there was a lot of information in there. you have to make sure you double or triple click it till the blue highlighting goes away before you type. it is very time consuming.   3. I would like to evaluate cash flow by project. To be able to see when cash was received and payments made for each project. It will be a useful tool to manage a project and decide when to invoice and to know when we are funding projects from our own cash. At present there isn't a report which I can run to see cash flow by project. Could you please consider building one. Thank you.

  4. We have to travel to various different countries and if the expenses are not paid via our default EUR balance in WISE, then Xero would not allow to select a different balance than the default one.
    For example, an Uber ride in Kenya is paid in KES and seemingly always converted from a USD balance, which is not our main balance. When trying to reconcile, this has to be converted to EUR even when it was paid with USD balance. Loops and hurdles!

    Hi Natalie, to understand a little more around your idea here. When you mention ticket number - is there specific field you'd enter this sort of information in the invoice. for example would you have the ticket number in the reference field or perhaps the description?

  6. Bills entered that are receipts/paid tax invoices (and accounts can't confirm they have been paid/what bank account they come from) should be able to be marked in awaiting payment with custom names instead of due dates.
    Instead of picking a past date to clear them from awaiting payment their should be an option to store it as a 'receipt' or 'direct deposit' to ensure paid invoices etc. are not double paid.

  7. Add a quick option to create a manual journal entry to adjust the sales tax amount paid when reporting and filing sales taxes.

    My state (and others, I assume) forces me to round up to the nearest dollar the amount of sales tax I owe when I file, which results in the filed number being different than what's in my "sales tax" account in Xero. I then have to add a manual journal entry to adjust that amount - usually debiting from one of my product categories.

    Thanks for sharing, Kris. Our product team are just beginning some work that will enable you to do this in Xero. We'll shift to working on it now, and I'll update you when this is released with more detail of how you can do this.

  8. The real cost of an employee is not shown on the payslip, even though things like Workcover, public liability, Qleave could be shown as percentages based on no of staff over a year. Eg $20k workcover is / staff/weeks of year/hours work this week or $200000 / 16 staff / 52 weeks and 200 hours worked = 0.12c per hour. Same could be shown for Public liability, and any other costs attributable to each staff member.

    Also showing all forms of leave accrued in $$ values as well as hours gives a clearer picture to the staff member how much…

  9. Ability to add emojis to email templates.

    Currently, you are able to add the emojis when emailing individual invoices, but it is not possible to add the emojis to the email template.

    If you try to add an emoji to an email template, Xero will delete it after saving it.

    Appreciate the difference in what you're asking here, Christopher. 

    No plans to allowing inserting emoji's directly into the email template atm, but we'll track this here and let you know if there's any plans made.

  10. Number of fields for projects is really poor, I need a tracking category added to projects so for example we can have four different types of projects which I want to categorise in the initial project set up. When costs and revenue are then allocated to this project it's also automatically allocated to the tracking category associated. At the moment I'm having to manually allocate to every transaction. Would be made easier if like sage they had a copy above function but we don't even have that either, so clicky!

  11. I have invoices that have a fixed due date, e.g 4th of the month, and would like invoices to be generated, and dated, a fixed number of days (e.g. 7) before this.

    WHen it's not near the end of the month then setting the invoice date and the due date to be 7 days after is fine. The issue arises when the invoice dates cross a month boundary as the varying number of days in the month makes this awkward.   12. I have multiple clients who have members. They like to keep their members date of births on file, so they can send them birthday emails, or if they are over a certain age can get a discounted membership. It would be great to have either a dedicated date of birth field, or like some other accounting softwares a few open fields, that we could name per file, for additional required details, like date of births, member types, allergies, voting member etc. I'm sure these fields could be useful for other types of businesses as well.

  13. It would be very useful if we could upload any supporting documentation for invoices or bills as attachments in Hubdoc. At the moment, I upload the invoice in Hubdoc and then have to add any supporting documentation in Xero directly.

  14. Moving employees from Part-time to causal or visa versa without deleting them!

    The Solve: Just have a date range/calendar within their employee info for what classification of employee they are during that date range.
    Transitioning employees causes undue messiness of information, which is counter to the point of the software. You have 2 employees that are the same person. Which also counts towards how many employees a business has for xero pricing purposes.

  15. I recently encountered and failed a question about user invitation, which I have used many times without problem. Quite why the learning organisation has increasingly focused on sequence recall rather than book-keeping, is something of a mystery. Good software should be intuitive where there is no need to remember the exact order of clicking presented options.

  16. Given there is an option to 'Export Accounting Data' in 'General Ledger format', why is there no corresponding facility to Import in 'General Ledger Format '? I have a client with many problem transactions locked by accountants. The solution is to start again with a copy of the accounts, which involves splitting the exported data into several different import templates.

  17. Make an invoice pdf downloadable from a mobile device.

    I get invoices from a supplier via email but it's only viewable as a PDF on a desktop, this stops me from being able to send the invoice to Dext.

  19. GoCardless offer Subscription Templates and the processes by which customers can sign up for them are simple and effective.

    For my company offering Boiler Service Plans it would be great to use GoCardless to sign customers up, but then have Xero keep a record of Invoices and Direct Debit Payments.
