Reconciliation - Edit bank account for bank transactions (spend, receive, transfer, or payment)
Ability to edit a bank account without having to delete the transaction and then re-enter it in the correct account.
Purpose: Save time from deleting the transactions and entering them from scratch in the correct account.

Coming from Quickbooks, I would have thought this was a given... when you're manually entering data and get into a groove you may overlook switching the account - having to delete and re-enter data is a waste of time and frustrating.

Totally agree! This is a much needed feature. Quite honestly Xero is the only software I have come across that doesn't have this option. It is a common error that people make, and not having this feature adds a lot of unnecessary time to working on a file.

Too much of Xero is based on clients using bank feeds and not enough recognition that this may not always be suitable for businesses. Where a client has cash income it needs to be manually input so if this is incorrectly entered to the wrong bank account it's a lot of work to re-input, a simple ability to move the transaction from one 'bank' account to the other is essential. Lack of features like this makes me as an accountant recommend other systems above Xero.

I know from a friend using QuickBooks that this option is available for them.
Xero needs to align on this with other products in the market -

appears this issue has been on Xero's radar since October 2012 and after nearly 11 years, the functionality is still not possible!? disappointing :(

Yes this would save loads of time!
In addition, clients using the Xero Mobile App to upload receipts sometime upload business receipts paid for personally but forget to choose the “I want to be repaid” rather than the Company bank account.
It would be great if I could either:
• Recode the Spend money transaction to the “Directors Current Account” (payments to this account are enabled), or
• Find & Recode – use this to recode them all at once to the DCA.At the moment I have to cancel them and re-enter as Expenses on the directors supplier account and then clear to their DCA.

Definitely could use this to move a transaction from one account to another, I have an integration that synced transactions to the wrong account, it has since been corrected but their app is breaking because it thinks it imported the transaction correctly even though it is deleted and will NOT make a new transaction in the correct account.

Being able to toggle between bank accounts when entering a spend money transaction would make data entry way more efficient. The same way you can when in the Bank Accounts screen (where there's a drop down to toggle between accounts). Currently, if I choose the wrong account I have to go back to the + menu, choose "spend money" and then choose my account.

The number of times the user pushing receipts across from Hubdoc to Xero gets the credit card wrong has to be seen to be believed. Would love to be able to correct this as an edit!!!!

Can we have the ability to move bank transactions from one bank account to another. For example a client accidently sets up their bank account twice. One has the feed going in but not visable and the other has had transactions added. Now the accounts are sorted the transactions all need to be consolidated into one account that has the feed. This isn't something that can be done as yet as it isn't transaction account re-coding, it's transaction account moving.

I agree with other users, this feature would be a very useful to easily swap bank accounts for a transaction. Currently what a time waster and could be potentially be costing money if you are paying people on an hourly rate.

It would be useful to change bank accounts if a “spend money” is accidentally set up from the wrong bank account, rather than deleting and starting again. ie when setting up a spend money, there could be a dropdown for the bank account.

Sometimes you or a client accidentally post a transaction to the wrong bank account. Instead of deleting it and having to add it again to a correct account, it would be nice to to be able select a "change bank account" to have it automatically move to the proper account.

When a payment on an invoice is posted, there's no way to change the account the payment was made to. You need to redo and remove and then repost the payment. It would be nice to be able to edit the payment transaction and change the paid to account easily.

This is a MUST feature! So much time wasted when entries completed to the wrong bank account. Other programs can be easily changed but no ability in Xero
