Bank Reconciliation - Show more statement lines per page
Ability to show more statement lines during reconciliation in one page.
Purpose: To save users time from scrolling and changing the page.
Thanks again, everyone! I can now confirm we've officially released these changes to all users. 🤗
As a quick recap of what's been released - From the Reconcile page your bank account now shows up to 50 statement lines at once. There is also a search bar at the top of the page where you can enter details from your statement lines including; Payee, Reference, Description, Transaction type, Cheque No. and Analysis code. Within the search you have filters to help you narrow down the date range or amounts that you want to reconcile - For more insight on recent changes see our Blog.
We really appreciate your engagement of this over time and sharing with us through the Product Ideas site, here.

I agree with the previous comments, most bookkeepers and accountants are predominantly working via a browser, not the mobile app. This needs to be rectified in the browser version.

Please fix the browser version

I would like to think that it would be common sense that the desktop web version would be used more by the accountants and bookkeepers that are PROMOTING your product and that would be where your updates would be most helpful.
I guess I was wrong!
Please make changes to the desktop version BEFORE the app.. which would make it much easier to keep promoting the product to our clients. Don't bite the hand of those that feed you!

I only use the app occasionally if I'm away - 99% of the time I'm working on my desktop computer, and I'm assuming the majority of users are also. Please fix this for desktop users.

Pretty sure most of us are doing the bank reconciliations on browser versions, not the app. If it needs to be spelled out to developers: PLEASE PROVIDE MORE LINES ON THE BROWSER VERSION.

Thanks Ethan,
Appreciate the update, I'm sure some of our clients will find this useful.

Appreciate the update, but I really hope Xero doesn't think this solves the problem... If they think using the mobile app is faster than using their main web app, that's a pretty funny indictment of their web app.

Why do you make changes to the app when most people do their recs on the desktop? I know you guys don't like to listen to our feedback but this is getting ridiculous. It almost feels like you do the opposite to what we want!!
Honestly, who would "CONVENIENTLY" reconcile transactions on a mobile???

Ethan,
Your words can be understood as Xero dev advises the users who mostly are sitting in the office to use the phone in front of the desktop to do the work.
I hope this is wrong.

I work in an office environment, on a computer not a phone app. Would rather you fixed the issue for the majority of users in the office, than give yourselves a pat on the back for creating a wonderful app for the minority who reconcile on their phone.

I'd love to know what % of reconciliation usage is on the app rather than desktop. For accountants and bookkeepers, I'd wager it is less than 1%. We need a functional desktop product, the app is irrelevant.

How about fixing the desktop version first? You know - the one that people use in an office? It's the most horrible, convoluted, ghastly setup I have ever come across.

Kerrin Paget commented
Thanks for that
The App solution might work for businesses but definitely not for accountants or bookkeepers who are working on lots of organisations.

Why have a limit to the number? The answer will be different for different users so an endless number would be the ideal, where the system, just adds more lines as we reach the bottom of the scroll.
For me personally, I often have to reconcile payments where several hundred invoices are being settled, so the number of scrolls or click forward/backward is so time consuming. One thing that would make my life easier would be the ability to separate the Xero Invoice number and it's corresponding reference number and make each column sortable.

Ideally everything on 1 page would be great but if you're looking for a specific number then I'd say 30 lines

Yawn

hello - I would like the scrolling to simply update endlessly. As we scroll to the bottom, add more lines, 25 lines at a time.

Hi Kelly,
Are you still working with Xero?
Your last post was March 6th 2023 and said :
"Thinking further ahead it'd really help our team to better understand;
the optimal # of statement lines you’d like to be able to view on the reconcile screen at any one time, and
any core reasons you feel viewing more statement lines will help you reconcile in Xero
"I think we have all answered that question over and over - or do you need to see more?

OMG so frustrating only having 10 lines - even on compact view, just not enough.
Id like to set my own default on many of the pages, as I like to have as many lines as possible to scroll through on many screens. -

Increase items per page from maximum of 200 to say 250,350 and 400 options.
