  1. It would be good if you could hide leave balances on individual employee payslips. The hide/show leave balances on payslips is a global setting applying to all employees. We have a scenario where the employ moved from part time to casual. They had leave balances as a part time employee, but don't have them as a casual but the zero leave balances still appear on their payslip.

  3. In pay employees, add pay run the column last edited isn't wide enough to show the full description. It would be helpful to be able to read the whole description of when the entry was last edited. It would also be helpful to know who entered and edited the pay entry.
    If new staff are in training and have completed the data entry but are nervous to speak up if an error was found/made knowing exactly who entered it would help to educate that staff member no what might have gone wrong.

    Looping back across your idea here, Kristy - you can view this from the History at the bottom of the screen. This'll show details of changes made to that pay run with the dates, times, the user and the change that was made, which should help identify and educating staff 🙂

  4. Now that you have a function to create a Non-employee SubContrator who is paid Superannuation only here are some suggestions as currently it is a very labout intensive and manual process especally since STP2

    • ability to populate the contractors details eg address, email, phone number from their Contact as they have been paid for an invoice via Bills
    • pay items that alows you to enter the invoice value so the super is calculated - at present, new STP does not allow you to trick the system anymore so 10.5% SG has to be manually calculated
    • ALLOW SPACES IN ABN field…

    Thanks for sharing with us in product ideas, Alison. It really helps for each idea to be separate so we can gauge interest in the specific feature community would like to see, and users know exactly what they're voting for.

    Reading through your feedback, you should find you can now copy and paste an ABN that contains spaces. It also appears there is an existing idea for tracking contractors Super contributions that I added your vote for and you'll be kept updated if there's any progress for.

    I've slightly adjusted the title of your idea here to reflect your first point, however you're welcome to start others for the remaining ideas that you'd like to see us develop. 

  5. ATO Category pay items of Directors Fees should be able to be the Ordinary Earnings Rate for employees. Currently only the ATO category Ordinary Time Earnings can be the Ordinary Earnings rate for employees.
    Whilst adding a zero Ordinary Earnings Rate solves the problem, it leaves the processing of pays open to input errors unnecessarily

  6. A CSV/Excel file with headers Employee, Gross, Net, NI, giving essentially the same data as the Payroll Activity Details report, for a payrun, but in column format with one line per employee for ease of reference.

    We have more than 30 employees and the Payroll Activity Details report is very long and cumbersome to reference.

  9. The current screen and filters for Xero timesheet is not user-friendly. In particular, firstly, it would be great if the Employee Name filter allowed you to type and search. Secondly, if the Employee Name filter could include multiple names that would be useful.
    Lastly, not in the filters, but the tick boxes for each timesheet - if the tick box was bigger and next to the line, instead of in the timesheet line this would help. The way it is at the moment, it is too easy to accidentally go into a timesheet instead of ticking it to select for…

    In terms of employee selections this is actually already possible - From the timesheets filter just click on the names on the employees you'd like to filter timesheets for.

    We don't appear to have an existing idea for your 3rd point, but welcome to start a new idea so we can begin to track interest of this, too.

  10. Prior to the upgrade, if you were a labour hire firm and had contractors who were not a company but used their TFN, you could select the box to allow additional tax deductions for HELP / HECS debts. With the new Phase 2 STP, Xero have confirmed that if you have labour hire using TFN's and they have a hecs debt you cannot check the box and will need to manually calculate the hecs amount to deduct each payrun.   11. Can we please have a report that will breakdown annual leave and leave loading. When there is a lot of employees that take leave for a quarter is time consuming to have to drill down into each employee to work out the leave loading to ensure that the SGC amount is reconciled.

  13. It would assist us if the Leave Accrued Report could also show the employee's start date. Long Service Leave is only applicable to staff from the 5 or 10 year mark for us in NSW but to ascertain whether staff are eligible for it is requiring external spreadsheets that have to be manually adjusted each month. Xero already has the functionality to enable this so it can't be hard to action.

  15. It would be great if Xero could send an alert if a leave request has been submitted for a payroll period that has already been processed?
    This would apply in the situation that payroll was run early and then an employee took a day off in the period that was included in the payrun.

  17. The new NZ WorkRide scheme works via a pre-tax deduction re salary sacrifice. Xero Support confirmed that right now there’s no functionality in Xero Payroll to process a pre-tax deduction. We have been advised that we need to manually adjust the tax in the draft pay run to reduce the PAYE withheld. Please enable your customers to comply with the NZ WorkRide scheme without the need for manual PAYE adjustments, by creating the ability to process pre-tax deductions.

  19. I'm an experienced chartered accountant relatively new Xero user. I'm flummoxed by the inclusion of payroll transactions in the "bills to pay" section. While the detail is hidden from some users, some personal payroll transactions (related to overpayment) have become viewable by users without payroll access. Even summary transactions should not be viewable by people without payroll access.

    All payroll transactions should be in a separate section to avoid confusion and any breach of privacy.

    I cannot, for the life of me, see the rationale for including payroll transactions in this area in the first place.

    Appears that you're based in Cayman Islands, Steve. When setting up your Xero org this will have set the region as Global, which doesn’t have Payroll.

    Our Global edition of Xero has the pay run feature, which is a simple payrolling tool.

    As this is a more simple payroll feature, when a pay run is processed it posts a transaction to be paid into the 'bills to pay' screen, like you described.

    If you'd like to have the UK regional payroll product and submit to the HMRC, you'll need to set up a new organisation as paying taxes in the UK.

  20. We are wanting to create a report for timesheet information for hours worked submitted by employees, that have been reviewed by their managers, i.e. rejected and unapproved overtime worked. The timesheet report only lists the paid hours. We would like to know the hours submitted by employees on their timesheets, versus the hours that were eventually approved and paid for. Are we able to create a custom report for this, to work out unapproved (as revised by the approver) overtime hours per employee, for a specific time period.
