  2. When doing a catch up job it takes forever to have to click into each pay run then back into pay employees and repeat. It would be great to be able to tick each one on the payroll > pay employees screen and then submit all at once.

  3. Xero Payroll restricts the payment date to no more than 90 days after the end of the payroll period. This isn't a legal or taxation limitation, but does restrict the occassions where clients are paying payroll in less regular intervals (such as paying their entire salary annually).

Hi team, while we appreciate the request here, considering compliance requirements for payroll in AU we want to be upfront that we don't have plans for changing the ability to set the payment date beyond 90 days.

For any employees that you may pay on an annual salary basis, we'd recommend setting the payment date 90 days before the employee's annual pay date.

  4. Currently, Xero does not have the feature to assign certain working days for part time employees. This becomes very frustrating when doing payroll.

For instance, an employee works Wednesday to Friday and when a public holidays falls on a Monday, Xero will allocate either all or some of the employees ordinary hours to this date incorrectly. This means we will have to manually adjust it each time.

A simple resolution would be to set up employees to certain working days, then the public holidays would assign correctly and there would be no need to manual adjustments.

  6. As with the financial side in Xero and their history and notes section, it would be very useful to be able to track who has approved leave or timesheets in Xero Payroll. We need site on which manager has approved the leave application or timesheet to mitigate any risk of the wrong people approving these.

  8. When adding a new employee record, allow me to 'create new superannuation' during the process of creating their new record. Currently when adding a new employee record, I need to navigate away from the employee record to 'Settings > Payroll Settings > Superannuation' to add a new superannuation relationship. On the new employee record, when the pop up appears for superannuation, if you could add a spot to say 'Create New relationship' or something under the employee record - I'll buy you a beer.

  9. we will have an overseas employee (from NZ) joining our australian company. In payroll I can put under Taxes the status Foreign Resident but not his address in NZ. I find this very restrictive to only be able to choose a State in Aus and no overseas addresses. Anybody an idea how to circumnavigate this without having to find some additional app to connect with Xero as was suggested by Xero Support.

  10. Dear Xero Team,

I’d like to submit a request for an enhancement to Xero Payroll to improve the setup and management of default superannuation funds.

Currently, when adding a default fund in Xero, there is uncertainty around what should be entered in the Member Number field. We typically process super contributions through the ATO Portal, but we would love to have the ability to do this directly within Xero.

Specifically, we would like the ability to:

Add a Default Fund chosen by the employer.

Assign employees who do not have an existing super fund…

  11. We cannot see/create leave liability in our reports and/or our balance sheet.
I wonder how a true business value is going to be shown on balance sheet without this liability.

To be frank and honest, it is not an idea, but quite basic necessity.

  12. Please create a deduction for payroll that can be linked to a bank account. Currently deductions can only be managed via balance sheet and/or by adding reimbursement to enable it to be transferred via EFT. Quickbooks and some other payroll software have this ability and it makes life so much easier and clearer for the emlployee too.

  15. Employees have requested their net pay to be paid across more than four bank accounts, though this function is not available. Increasing the number of bank accounts would assist employees and those processing payroll.

  16. Suggestion? Please fix the Salary Sacrifice % of Earnings to include all gross earnings, not just payroll items selected for SGC.

Currently Xero will only apply a Salary Sacrifice % amount to any payroll item that is selected for SGC. If an employee chooses to Salary Sacrifice a % of their gross earrings that may include overtime worked, a manual calculation work around is required.

  17. Before posting a payroll, when you run the "Payroll Activity" report, include the leave entitlements about to be posted not just the pay items.

So when you download a report to do a final check before posting payroll you can check ALL payroll activity not just half of it !

Hi Kristen, appreciate you sharing in product ideas here. While this isn't something we have plans for I wanted to confirm you can currently check leave accruals by clicking on the employee's payslip prior to posting the pay run.

Once the pay run's posted, before it's filed, you could run the report and find any issues, and revert it back to draft to make changes if necessary.

  18. If this has already been suggested I would like to add in the payroll items an Employer Expense (not a deduction or reimbursement), similar to the way Superannuation is treated, with an expense and liability account. This would account for the BERT & BEWT that is required in the building industry.

  19. Please update the wording of icon in an employees payroll from "reset payslip" to "reset individuals payroll"

The reset is for use to "refresh" really and nothing to do with a payslip.
    Its rather confusing.

  20. Currently payroll is only able to child support as a deduction.

In Australia, there is a protected amount that employee needs to earn before the deduction is taken out of their pay. There isn't a function that will allow this currently.

Payroll officers manually have to keep track of this and remove the deduction if protected amount is not reached. Small businesses with a few employees would be able to keep track but for the likes of a bigger business with more than 20+ employees, this would be a nightmare.
