  1. When using the new style of invoicing, it is no longer possible to enter a customer payment which having to click on the receive payment option. Using classic invoicing, the fields to enter the payment are present on the invoice screen. The classic invoicing method is much more efficient when entering a large number of customer invoices, so it would be great if these fields could be added to the invoice screen on the new style.

  2. When reviewing the GST Audit Report we are able to sort by account number, but when printing in PDF it reverts back to date sort order. Can we have an option to print to PDF in account code order.

  3. Can I also please say, how frustrating it is that you can not now attach a file to a contact from the file library. This is how we have always attached our end of month creditor statements, that are emails to us, we have always forwarded these directly the file library, re name as required and then attach to the contact from the file library when completing the checking process for each creditor. This now will mean that statements can not be forwarded directly from the creditor email but will have to now be saved into a PC desktop file…

    Hi everyone, when the Contact overview screen was modernised, the functionality to upload files from the Xero File library was not available, and that you’ve had to upload files directly from the computer. We appreciate and apologise that this has had a negative impact on your workflows for the interim.

    I’m pleased to share that the work is well underway to bring back the functionality to upload from the file library 📚

    With this update we’ll:

    • Bring the file library uploader option back on the Contact overview page Files tab
    • Display all files (including previously attached ones) allowing you to attach a file to multiple documents (e.g. Contact, Invoices…) when you're uploading
    • Enable adding multiple files from file library in one go

    Looking forward to returning here to let you know once this is delivered!

  4. New invoicing is missing the ability to select the default due date that is against the customer. I had to change the invoice date for a customer with set payment terms of 30 days from the invoice date and there were several suggestions listed but the old option to reset to default date was missing.

  5. On the old invoices/bills I could type "18/2/23" and it would auto fill 18th February 2023. Now I have to scroll back multiple months to get there. It would be good if I could type in the date field boxes again. Specifically on "Add Payment"

  6. In Classic Invoicing there is an X to delete a line. In New Invoicing I have to click on the 3 dots then select Remove from the 2 options that are displayed (Save to inventory or Remove). Please can the function of a single click on the X be retained.

Some purchase contacts have requested that invoices be sent to an accounts email while statements are to be sent to a different email address, both of which are different from the person who is the actual primary contact. It would be advantageous for Xero to incorporate this to allow for the invoices and statements to be sent to the correct emails without the necessity of sending every document to the primary contact or to each other which is not required or desired.

    Hi community, we can see there’s lots of interest in this idea and appreciate all your feedback and comments. We absolutely understand the value that unapproving a bill would bring to your businesses. Unfortunately, while the concept is quite simple, the technical implementation within Xero is highly complex.

    The good news is that our Product team is still keen to solve this problem for you. They have a possible solution and would love to hear your response to validate their thinking.

    Put simply, instead of "unapproving", the solution would bundle the following tasks into a single action so that you can effectively "unapprove" a bill much faster.

    • Void the bill
    • Copy the bill
    • Reattach any files (IF any) from the voided bill to the copy of the bill

  9. Currently, Xero does not have the feature to assign certain working days for part time employees. This becomes very frustrating when doing payroll.

    For instance, an employee works Wednesday to Friday and when a public holidays falls on a Monday, Xero will allocate either all or some of the employees ordinary hours to this date incorrectly. This means we will have to manually adjust it each time.

    A simple resolution would be to set up employees to certain working days, then the public holidays would assign correctly and there would be no need to manual adjustments.

  10. Currently a client can upload a number of invoices and then create a batch payment for these invoices. When they make a payment for 1 of the invoices in the batch, you have to remove and redo the payment then match the separate invoice up, and then recreate the batch payment, excluding the amount which has now been paid. Would be easier if like with invoices, the batch payment could be split, saving the new to remove and then recreate the batch payment.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the idea and support here. We appreciate all the valuable feedback and ideas shared regarding the ability to split batch payments when reconciling, and understand it currently takes extra steps to reconcile when a single invoice among a batch has been paid, or when there are multiple payments to the same entity for different invoices.
    Being transparent, we don’t have direct plans for making this change within the foreseeable future but if anything changes in this space, we’ll update you on this idea!

  13. We want to be able to open and complete the employees draft timesheet, if it has already been started. We have enough to do without starting again from scratch what the employee may have already done but just not clicked the submit button.

    It is idiotic that, as the owner and payroll manager, that we cannot see an employee's draft timesheets.

    As the business owner and Payroll Admin, we should:

    • not have compromise our recordkeeping by putting hours directly into the pay slip.

  14. Simply be able to schedule any invoice on a specific date and time.

    There is already a feature request for repeating invoices but small businesses often have single emails/invoices to send and it would be great to schedule one-off emails.

    Eg. It is the 30th of November and you have a non-repeating invoice that will be due on December 15th and you would like to send it on the 8th of December. It would be nice to be able to schedule it be sent out on the 8th automatically and not have to log in again on the 8th to…

  15. Restore the ability to see the total number of days an invoice is overdue from the client contact page for credit control. It used to say 125 days overdue in red - that has gone so it is now not as easy to decide how firm to be when emailing a client to chase a late invoice. Those days overdue on an email heading get attention fast.

    Hi everyone, appreciate wanting more of an update from us here. To share on our progress - Multiple addresses has been enabled in the back end of contacts. As mentioned in our previous update this is a complex piece of work, as we need to now build this into other areas of Xero where it'll add value.

    For this reason the work within Contacts is not live yet, as without building this feature across these other areas it wouldn't have much practical use. But to confirm, work's moving along and we look forward to being able to share more.

  17. The email invoice button on the new invoice template has moved from a main button to now being in a sub menu in the three dots, adding a click to the work flow.

    But Print PDF is still a button on the main invoice template.

    In an era where email is preferred over a printed PDF in the post, it would be nice to retain both EMAIL and PRINT as main buttons on the new invoice system. Seems extra work when you are sending a whole load every day for bigger companies.

Notifications on xero to alert you that an employees age has increased due to a birthday, as they may have hit a new age bracket in the wage rates and they could be getting underpaid if not noticed. Example - employee goes from age 20 to 21 this would mean that if they are on the 18-20 year old wage rate and they are on the £7.49 once they turned 21 they should then be on £10.18. so notification of birthdays would help keep you aware of age changes.

  20. Would be great if Xero could trigger an automated (email and/or text) reminder to the superannuation payment approver 10, 5 and one days out from the superannuation due date each quarter.

    A similar reminder feature already exists in XPM for Activity Statement Lodgements - reminders can be turned on.

    Xero also has the ability to automate reminders to Customers around bill payment.

    Xero has the email and SMS of the superannaution approver already on file.
