  3. I want to be able to group/merge multiple expenses being on-billed into one line on an invoice, even if they're not a tracked expense.

    For example, if a contracting company has billed for a fortnight of the contractor's work, but has separated that into two lines, each dealing with one week, on their bill, then the draft that is created when they e-invoice me will have two lines. When I assign these lines to a project and approve the bill, each line shows up as a separate expense to be on-billed. If I am on-billing the full fortnight, I would…

  4. We require more than 10 email templates for our organisation, due to running multiple events and each needing a different message to go out with the Sales Invoice in the email body.

    Please Xero can you review this, I'm sure it wouldn't be too difficult to change!

    Understand the restriction on the current limits and appreciate your detail in how this'd help you, Kira. Is there an ideal # that'd fit for your business? 

    This isn't something we have immediate plans for atm but good to know when sharing your feedback with product. 

    For the time being, you'll need to apply a base template and can adjust as needed when sending individual items from Xero. 

  5. I need to search Invoice descriptions to find Invoices that have certain quote references.

    I've found a workaround for this using an Account Transaction report and filtering on description. However I can't find a way to use an OR operator.

    For example I can create a report that finds all quote references with "A0", and I can modify that to display a report that finds all quotes with a reference that contains "L0".

    However, I can't find a way to create a single report that contains all quote references with "A0" OR "L0" (or "A0" OR "A1" OR "A2")

    Thanks for the detail in your idea here, Paul. I had a bit of a test of this myself and have checked in with our reporting team. 

    It doesn't quite appear in the modal once the report's run - this is something that we'll look to improve. 

    However, it's possible to enter multiple terms which will each be searched and return results for (like OR as an operator) - All you need to do is enter a comma(,) and space between each condition. 

    For example A0, L0 or A0, A1, A2, 🙂

  6. Some larger companies with automated systems do not want reminders going to the same email address that the invoices go to. Doing this results in a duplicate invoice going into their system, which stops the payment going through as they then need to manually sort out what's going on. They have one email address for the invoice and another for reminders, to avoid that duplication.
    Currently, we need to leave the email address on the contact, then turn off invoice reminders and make a note to manually send reminders.

  7. Could you increase the size of the email statements UI - ie the dialogue box that opens when you email statements or activity and you can revise the template.
    The font is tiny and the window is also tiny.
    Or allow a zoom, or to enlarge the dialogue box.

  8. Bills - Highlight the “Planned date” (in red or bold) as you select the date.
    This would assist greatly when batching weekly and monthly payment batches and working alphabetically.

  9. Currently we create a budget for each tracking category (department).

    I have created a custom report which includes the budget for each category. I then use the formula function to sum the budgets together.

    I only want to see the formula column in the report outputted. (I realise that columns can be hidden when data is exported to Excel)

    I understand that there is not a way to show a formula column without all the individual budget columns.

    Enhancement suggestion: include a radio button for each column to hide/reveal that column in the report

  10. I've accidentally created a Small Business Depreciation Pool in the Fixed Asset section of a client.

    As far as I can tell there is no way to permanently remove or delete this, and it just hangs around forever?

  11. It would be very helpful if any super that has had the 'Mark as Paid' applied was also shown on the superannuation status page and also on the Superannuation Payments Report too. It is a collaborative QA, transparancy/visibility thing that would be very helpful given we have clients, BASAgents, Bookkeepers and Accountants all trying to make sure a client meets all obligations so showing this would provide good clear confirmation as to what has occured no matter which 'advisor' with permission logged in - we can all support each other this way.

  12. When reviewing a VAT return documents, the ability to see the invoice without having to go in to bills to pay to find the invoice and review it was great. How about adding a next and previous button to the top of the screen when you left click on an invoice within the VAT return?

    At the moment we have to click the x in the top right corner and then left click on the next invoice to review. when review large VAT return with many transactions you can get lost and end up clicking in to an invoice you…

SUPER NON Regulated Super Fund Set Up - There are many Non Regulated Super funds out there and Xero only provides a list of Regulated Super Fund name to choose/ set up under payroll settings so when an employee has a NON Regulated Super Fund you can not set up or choose in the Employee card. The current work around is to Choose another Super Fund name (fraught with danger) in the Employee card then make manual payments. Making manual payments is not an issue however, choosing another Super fund name that is not correct is not an appropriate work…

  15. Add a function to allocate transactions in an account against each other so you can easily identify which transactions are making up the balance (e.g. in a PAYE you would allocate the payment to HMRC against the payroll journal).

  16. Be able to set an automatic default tax rate when new sales or expense accounts are created. In our country, the sales tax rate changed, and by default when I create a new account, it gives the old tax rate. Unless I change the Default tax rate for this specific new account to the current tax rate, I will be given the old tax rate by default. This has given us accounting problems that are sometimes hard to trace when one doesn't change the tax rate manually each time a new account is created.

  17. When entering invoices and the account is always "sales" (for example), I would like the option to set up invoices to automatically use the "sales" account? It is currently only an option by setting up item codes and/or setting up through contacts. I would like to see it automatically assign the account at the time of entering the invoice, instead of having to type in an item code. It will save so much more time and avoid errors by users selecting an incorrect account from the chart of accounts.

    Appreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name. 

    While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present. 

    We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates. 

  19. We want to give access to reporting to one of our managers however we don't want them to be able to view all payroll information. Therefore I am looking for a function that can give access to all of Xero except anything to do with payroll so all nominal codes to do with wages would need to be invisible etc. Journals would another thing that needs to be hidden.

    This is really useful to know, thanks Josh - Though we don't have immediate plans for change around this, we really appreciate you sharing the detail of how you'd see this permissions working best for you. We'll keep an eye across this one here, and let you know if there are any updates.
