  1. Previously when making a payment once you added the payment it took you back to the awaiting payment screen (where it showed the name just paid and give you the option to send a receipt) now it takes you to the paid screen. This is a real pain when you are doing eft receipts for multiple clients.

  2. Dear Sir/Madam,

    When I download custom xero template it has «PaymentImage» code.
    I would like to upload my own image different from Payment Service image to the bottom of the standard invoice same as logo, then I will not need to use a custom PDF template.

    Could you add this option?

    PDF invoices are not convenient as it requires invoice to have Sent status to print PDF. And no quick preview availiable, so no option to preview custom invoice prior sending it.

When I am logged-in to Xero as a user with "Invoice only" and "only create drafts" permissions, it is my understanding that this user should not be able to create new invoice items or see menu options for creating new items. However, it appears this user can see this menu option when adding a line item to an invoice and attempt to create a new item, leading to an ambiguous error message.

  5. When I send a paid invoice pdf to a customer I would like it to show the original currency and also the currency they paid in. I'd also like it to show the exchange rate of the payment, rather than the Xero calculated currency. At the moment this field isn't available in the docx merge fields.

  7. Populate Contact Purchase Defaults when Bills arrive as e-invoice or from 3rd party app.

    As a bookkeeper I was so looking forward to promoting and using e-invoicing, but unfortunately it's not going to work for me (and many of my clients). This is because we often have invoices with A LOT of line items which are brought into Xero just as a total with one line only.     Thanks for your support here, everyone. Appreciate there is some interest in this from people emailing bills to their organisation, or importing via a 3rd party application. 

    We wanted to share a recent change we've made for those using eInvoicing - invoices received via Xero's eInvoicing will apply Contact defaults (such as a set default 'Purchase account) when creating the invoice in Xero. 😁

  9. I have worked with an accounting system that allows many rows e.g. description, Qty, Price, Account and Tax rate to be copied from Excel (at a go) and pasted to create an invoice, Journal etc. This saves a lot of time.

The latest glitch is that while using the edit function, something triggers the new invoicing to think that an amount has been added to a quantity or price box in one of the lines, presumably one that is being used as just a text line, and there is no way of knowing which box has been triggered so that you might know what you need to clear as nothing is flagged by the software.     Hi Paul, appreciate your feedback on the new invoicing experience. We're continuing to develop this for all customers so your inputs are valuable. 

    With your first point around the description only line - my recent update on the related idea here may explain the behaviour you're noticing. If you're selecting a saved item to enter description only lines there is a change to how this works between the old and new version and it's not possible to use items as description only atm. We're monitoring this so please do add your vote to the idea there is you feel this applies to your situation. 

    It's best for us to keep one idea per thread so I'll adjust the title of your post here to match your second point on the colouring of the menu button and we can get a gauge of the interest around this too.

EMAIL DESCRIPTION OF INVOICE-SHOW GST INCLUSIVE PRICE-When selected "Include action to online and detail summary" for the email template, the email that is sent shows a description of the attachment (invoice) in the body of the email, but it has each item GST EXEMPT then the GST is listed at very bottom. It iss very confusing for some customers.

  13. Xero made a lot of noise about how good the 'new invoicing' feature would be. Users gave plenty of feedback early on when new invoicing was optional, both in comments and by not switching over to new invoicing. Xero proceeded with the change seemingly unaware of the negative mood amongst users to the new invoicing feature.

    Appreciate your feedback, Martin. I can assure you throughout the build of new invoicing we have engaged and tested out features with many different users. To keep customers informed throughout we have shared blog posts and regularly update our Xero Central page with what's been delivered and what's to come.

    Being such a widely used feature, we have focused on features that suit majority of our customers needs. We appreciate some customers still want to see more development and we are continuing to enhance this new invoicing experience.

  14. With the old invoice format—when you edit the invoice issue date, the due date doesn't change. When you edit the issue date with the NEW invoice format, the due date automatically changes. Not sure about others, but I don't want it to do that. I'll often issue an invoice in the first couple of days of the month but then immediately backdate it to the end of the previous month. I don't want the customer's due date to change. I change the due date back, manually, but again—it's more clicks.

    Thanks for the feedback on the behaviour of the dues date, community. Our product team have implemented a change to this as of today, so now if you update the issue date after you've set a specific due date, it will not automatically update the due date when you make issue date changes.

    We appreciate our customers have different expectations of the behaviour between issue and due dates in new invoicing - Along with other changes we're developing for the due date picker, we'll soon release the option to 'Reset to default due date' which will let you intentionally update the due date based on your invoice's contact's default due date (if set) or your organisations default due date, just by clicking this option.

  16. Record deposits on a quote or future invoice sale without raising the invoice value against a customer.

    We manufacture a product and then install for a customer - with a deposit of either 50/50% or 30/30/30/10% at the point of approved sale. We are happy to create an invoice number but with a deposit on each sale this creates a "negative balance" and we do not want to create a sale until the final invoice has been agreed at installation. ie. a negative receivable.

  17. Had to switch back to Classic INVOICE again... Because new INVOICE does not work...

    Auto tax rate for us in the US can be a good feature if implemented with smarts... That seems to be a big IF... Some of us do business internationally. So not all our invoices are for US based customers.

    Creating an invoice for a customer in Germany... !!!Unable!!! to complete the INVOICE because Auto tax rate insist I have to have a state for it to work???

  18. Recently half of the emails I thought I had sent were 'unable to be sent'. I had no idea until I became worried why my usually reliable clients had not paid me on time. After looking I saw this message on the 'History' trail.

    My suggestion is that where an error occurs like this there is a significant error message signal e.g. a box comes up or things are highlighted in red and bold.

    Cashflow is the lifeblood of any business and if the system is unable to send an invoice this could have serious ramifications for Xero clients.

    I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.

    I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.

    Hi all, appreciate the interest and rationale in wanting to be able to see under each history which invoice template was used to send the invoice.

    We are working on improving new invoicing history that'll eventually include when branding of an invoice has changed.

    However, we want to be upfront that recording the name of the branding template the invoice has been changed From and To is not something we'll be developing in the near term.
