  1. The "Details" tab lists the employee's age under the "Date of birth" field.

    Having "Employed for # Years & # Months" below the "Start date" field would be handy. It would give a quick, "at a glance" look at how long someone has been employed by a business for estimating notice periods and anticipating imminent entitlement to LSL.

    Attached is what the "Date of birth" currently looks like (I've used my own name and birth year) and a mock-up of what I'm suggesting might look like.

  2. Ability to set a future date for when payslips are to be sent/be available to employees as payroll can be completed early sometimes (ie public holidays etc)

  3. Is there an option to show "Manual Bank Reconciliation Date" rather than Reconciled Date? The reconciled date is system generated and it does not mean much if the balances are out to start with. This would allow the user to know when bank rec was actually performed by a human.

    Hi Jo-Ann - when you say you'd like to view the date the bank account was manually reconciled would this be on the org's Dashboard?

    As a means of viewing this information at present - you could run the History & notes and view only Bank transaction items where you'll see the name of the user and date that the last transaction in the org was reconciled. 🙂

  4. We often need to generate Project reports for the time period 'Project to Date'.

    This isn't an option in the Project Summary report. Can this be built-in as a further standard option?

  6. When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

  7. Our financials include a report on the profitability of projects closed during the month. Because the system writes the date of closure from the actual live date that the user marks the project as closed, the user needs to make sure that each project is marked as closed immediately on the date of completion. E.g. If a project is completed in the last week of the month the user must ensure that the closure field is ticked during that week and not wait until the following week.

    Can you allow the user to enter or amend the closure date ?

  9. I would like to see the ability to type the tracking category into the field in the new invoicing, be available again rather than a drop down menu that its not user friendly or time saving. The drop down often jumps to the incorrect tracking category, even after the correct one is selected.

In Xero, under All contacts, would be great if we & please add had more columns or choices to add certain column of attributes of the contact showing if they are in a group, and possibly a last action date of last transaction, so that any can be easily Archived, when they haven't been accessed in a long while.   11. Please allow a customers unique name and number pasted into the "to" box, be the only customer information required to continue filling out the invoice.
    My continued use of Xero depends on this action to stay as it is.
    Some users will not want to use Xero invoicing other than to use it as a debtors ledger and GST etc manager.
    In our case, we paste the name and number in the TO field, the only " item " we sell is one invoice worth our invoice total. The invoice number and reference holds our real invoice number.

    Hi everyone, to confirm for anyone coming across the idea here. In new invoicing the contact card will open so you can add more details of a new contact. However, the name is the only field required, so you can simply enter the name and then click Save to continue on. 🙂

  12. Not all businesses want to set up credit card payments. We actually use another system to generate our invoices as they are complex. I have been repeatedly asked to set up stripe and an authenticator with every step when keying in new invoices - I do not want to do this. I started to investigate and have now been charged $59.99 for an authenticator I do not need. I am incredibly frustrated and want my money back. I have contact the app company however it was xero's repeated badgering that caused the error. please remove the call to action

    Thanks for the screenshot, Nicole. Appreciate if you're not intending to set up credit card payments that this continuous pop up would be frustrating. This indicates that the Stripe payment service setup was entered into at some point but hasn't been completed. You should be able to stop this from appearing by removing Stripe as a payment service from your organisation. We have some help on doing this, here.

  13. Fix Tabbing issue when creating reconcile period. When creating a reconcile period I enter the first date of a Statement Date Range, hit tab and instead of going to the last date of the Statement Date Range where it should go, it weirdly tabs to the opening statement balance, forcing me to go back and click on the ending date box.

    Appreciate some customers prefer to use the keyboard to enter data. I've checked this in with our product team and can confirm, currently if you're entering a date via the keyboard and then press Tab, the cursor will move to the opening balances field.

    Appreciate it's not the solution you're asking here, however atm you can press the return key to select the date from the date picker, which will automatically move the cursor to the end of the date field.

    We're keeping a watchful eye on the interest of the idea to understand the interest in this.

  14. For web orders etc there is no way of adding to the invoice that the order has been paid.
    So an option within the Due Date section to choose 'Paid In Full' would eliminate the customer receiving the invoice appearing as if it needs to be settled.

  16. Packing Slips need to print what is on screen. Xero how about you create a rule to check what is in the Packing Slip fields and make sure what is going to print also matches. Don't expect the users to have to check what they are printing actually comes out of the printer correctly.
    This is the response I got from my Trouble Ticket on this issue today, which suggests the users "wait a few moments to allow the auto save to complete."
    New invoicing is very frustrating, why should we have to wait for something that works perfectly well…

  17. In Projects

    When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
    I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
    To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
    We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??

I often copy from a Purchase order to an Invoice, with the new Invoicing set up, it automatically populates the customer field with the Supplier name, can this PLEASE be changed to same as classic with a blank field so we can enter the custmer details in ourselves, it is most annoying and has often caught our office out sending invoices to suppliers.

  19. It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!

    Hi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.  

    To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.   

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.  
    • The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  20. New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if…
