  1. at the moment in the new invoicing system, if a price is deleted from a line and not replaced with 0.00 it is not automatically zero'd out so the the line total remains what it was before the price was removed. should automatically update as soon as the number is removed.

  2. When running the Payment Summary Details report for a previous financial year, the report does not show the dates of the financial year the data belongs to. The report is titled Payment Summary Details as at Today's Date. For example: it should show Payment Summary Details reporting period 1st July 2017 - 30th June 2018. For audit purposes, there is no way of determining the date range the reported data relates to.

  3. INVOICING - in the field 'Unit Price', it would be great to be able to have this default to the hourly rate we charge (and to override if necessary). We send our invoices to our clients at the end of each month, and therefore there are several entries for the daily activities charged throughout the month, hence having to input the hourly rate several times for each invoice.

  5. In response to the "Custom Report - Update-able date column" idea (now closed), you recently added the option to 'Follow report date range' so your custom date columns will automatically update based on the date you run the report for.
    Why (on earth!) is this not the default behaviour? This is what I thought should be happening and have spent ages, included a support session, trying to sort out the implication of it not working as expected. The column date should normally reflect the report date, surely.

  6. Re: New Invoicing - Reduce Number of steps and clicks (The original thread has had comments turned off, so I can't comment that it has made more steps, not less...)

    What has happened here...it is now taking eight tab clicks to get from Reference Number to the first box to input the item code...last week it was six...so the number of click has increased, not decreased.

    Also, when inputting an item code, I have multiple codes that have the same base code with different suffixes...is there are way to just get it to the shaded part that you select the…

  7. Is there an option to show "Manual Bank Reconciliation Date" rather than Reconciled Date? The reconciled date is system generated and it does not mean much if the balances are out to start with. This would allow the user to know when bank rec was actually performed by a human.

    Hi Jo-Ann - when you say you'd like to view the date the bank account was manually reconciled would this be on the org's Dashboard?

    As a means of viewing this information at present - you could run the History & notes and view only Bank transaction items where you'll see the name of the user and date that the last transaction in the org was reconciled. 🙂

  8. In Projects

    When invoice is created from Projects ( I have Six Staff) It automatically orders this in name order and has mutiple date entries from the Latest date entered.
    I then have to ferry each date up the page to order these chronologically so i have the earliest date and each staff member for this date (before starting to add matarials etc)
    To make it easier for my clients to read what is entailed for each day.
    We need a button to convert invoice to date order as on big jobs this takes me over half an hour ??

  9. Not a new idea but your support tells me to post it here.
    Can we please have the green approve button at the bottom of an invoice back?
    Green = go
    At the bottom because that is where the eyes rest after checking
    NOT combined with emailing or anything else as they are different processes done by different people.
    So the new idea is basically to revert this back to how this worked in the old invoicing which had it right on all accounts (intuitive, neat, procedurally correct and efficient).

  10. It would be great if Xero dealt with changing balance dates more efficiently. If the balance date changes it should be able to automatically calculate the opening book value, then calculate the depreciation for the new financial year end as per usual. Currently its very manual and time consuming as it reverses all journals posted since you started using Xeros fixed asset feature. Very odd and very frustrating!

    Hi all, we wanted to round back here to share for those in the UK that we've now added the ability for you to create a short transition period (between 1 month and 12 months long) when changing the Financial Year End date.  

    To recap for anyone new coming across the idea - Aligning with the UK basis period reforms we've made a change to Financial settings so you can add start and end dates to different periods. This change impacts multiple areas of Xero.   

    • Fixed assets will draw on this information, to prevent any loss of historic information when your year end changes. Everything will automatically be calculated for you based on the period start and end dates you set in Financial Settings.  
    • The same applies in Reporting. All historic reports will be protected. And you’ll have accurate comparison periods even across varied financial years.

  11. Not all businesses want to set up credit card payments. We actually use another system to generate our invoices as they are complex. I have been repeatedly asked to set up stripe and an authenticator with every step when keying in new invoices - I do not want to do this. I started to investigate and have now been charged $59.99 for an authenticator I do not need. I am incredibly frustrated and want my money back. I have contact the app company however it was xero's repeated badgering that caused the error. please remove the call to action

    Thanks for the screenshot, Nicole. Appreciate if you're not intending to set up credit card payments that this continuous pop up would be frustrating. This indicates that the Stripe payment service setup was entered into at some point but hasn't been completed. You should be able to stop this from appearing by removing Stripe as a payment service from your organisation. We have some help on doing this, here.

  12. When saving a custom report for a certain timeframe, when you want to use it to do the next month (for example you are doing a monthly & year to date Profit & Loss account. Your last one saved was February & now you want to do March), you put in the date of March.     Hi team, is it possible that this is based on the way the Date column has been set up in the Layout editor? Rather than selecting one of the relative date ranges, you could enter a custom date range so that if the report dates are changed this won't impact custom date range of the column that you've added.

    Let me know if there's something I might be missing in your idea here.

  13. I would like to see the ability to type the tracking category into the field in the new invoicing, be available again rather than a drop down menu that its not user friendly or time saving. The drop down often jumps to the incorrect tracking category, even after the correct one is selected.

  17. Packing Slips need to print what is on screen. Xero how about you create a rule to check what is in the Packing Slip fields and make sure what is going to print also matches. Don't expect the users to have to check what they are printing actually comes out of the printer correctly.
    This is the response I got from my Trouble Ticket on this issue today, which suggests the users "wait a few moments to allow the auto save to complete."
    New invoicing is very frustrating, why should we have to wait for something that works perfectly well…

  18. New Invoicing. I see we got the ability to mark as sent when printing, which is great and fixes one of many defects which made me go back to classic a year ago. But the prompt that appears is bizzare and confusing. Classic always had "mark as sent" or "leave as it is" ... however new has "mark as sent" or "Canel" - which implies cancel the print job - except it doesn't (the x does this)... So on one hand a user if confused by cancel if they want to print without marking as sent, and 2 if…

  20. Please allow a customers unique name and number pasted into the "to" box, be the only customer information required to continue filling out the invoice.
    My continued use of Xero depends on this action to stay as it is.
    Some users will not want to use Xero invoicing other than to use it as a debtors ledger and GST etc manager.
    In our case, we paste the name and number in the TO field, the only " item " we sell is one invoice worth our invoice total. The invoice number and reference holds our real invoice number.

    Hi everyone, to confirm for anyone coming across the idea here. In new invoicing the contact card will open so you can add more details of a new contact. However, the name is the only field required, so you can simply enter the name and then click Save to continue on. 🙂
