  1. The ability to export the auto enrolment pension report and also to "hide" deep archived employees. I check this report mid month and send a list to HR as a sanity check for those employees not yet enrolled/non eligible but now have to scroll through "all" employees past and present to get the current information. Not very user friendly. Even an export option with some way of then filtering whether the employee is current would be useful.

  2. For employees who use Xero My Payroll, if you are a Payroll Admin user, you can grant employees authority to approve leave. The option for Timesheet approval should also be there, it is available in other countries but not NZ.

  3. In UK hospitality, Tronc (tips) systems require a different PAYE to your normal payroll. It would be very useful if Xero could accommodate more than one Payroll, including PAYE reference and employees could have a job with each.

    A pay run should be able to be created with each PAYE separately, and each would have its own coding to the balance sheet. e.g. Net Wages, and Net Wages Tronc are different numbers in COA.

  4. Please give us the option to split the base rate and casual loading items WHILE working with a timesheet. At the moment this has be manually done in every pay run if we want to show the loading separately.

Prior to the upgrade, if you were a labour hire firm and had contractors who were not a company but used their TFN, you could select the box to allow additional tax deductions for HELP / HECS debts. With the new Phase 2 STP, Xero have confirmed that if you have labour hire using TFN's and they have a hecs debt you cannot check the box and will need to manually calculate the hecs amount to deduct each payrun.   6. It would be wonderful to have the option to use HH:MM format for timesheet entries, instead of only decimal time. Hard to convince employees to do timesheets as it is, but to also ask them to convert two weeks of project works over numerous jobs into decimal format is a big ask! Not many people are used to entering 4.6667 hrs instead of 4hrs 40min. If this is a feature of Xero Practice Manager, can it not be easily made available to the rest of us?

    Hi team, thanks for sharing your interest in a payroll product for Canada. We don't have any plans in the near term for developing specific payroll products for other regions, and I will move this idea to Not planned. 

    If you've been using our Global Pay Run product you may have recently received communication of changes we're making that we believe will help you manage your payroll more effectively. 

    • From 23 July 2025 Global Pay Run will become read-only. You'll still be able to see all your past payroll information, however you will not be able to process any new pay runs after this date. 
    • Global Pay run will be retired after April 2026, at which point you'll no longer be able to access pay run.

  8. There is currently only one default setting for NI contributions to be made to. It is though necessary to separate out employee and director costs. Even direct employees and overhead categorised employees. Other pay items allow postings to different ledger accounts but not NI deductions. Would just save a lot of manual journal posting to correct payroll run postings.

  10. Currently, when super payments bounce, Xero sends us an email letting us know that a payment to a particular super fund from a particular payment batch has failed. Once we've identified whose it was, and got the updated details, we then have to contact Xero to get a re-processing authorised.

    All of this takes time, during which the Directors of my clients may become liable for late super payments. I'd like a button to click to speed up at least the contacting Xero for re-processing bit - preferably as part of the process identify the…

    Hi team, sorry we haven't joined in this idea sooner. Earlier this year we released an improvement so now if an auto superannuation payment is returned the authoriser will receive an email including the reason for the return. They will be able to withdraw the payment from the processed batch to reprocess the contributions. We have detailed help for this on Xero Central, but if you run into any snags as always our Xero Support team are available to help. 🙂

  11. Can we have both CIS deducted by clients and CIS that we deduct from sub-contractors on the P32 report. I use the P32 to tell me what I need to pay across to HMRC but then have to do a separate calculation for CIS that I've deducted from subbies. The way Xero handles CIS deductions from sales invoices is difficult enough already!

  12. Average Employee Numbers in the Year

    As part of preparing accounts, the average employee number is often required. If this could be generated within Xero that would save time collating the number of employees per month and working out an average for the year. It could subsequently be used as working out the amount of revenue attributable to each staff member.

  13. When calculating annual leave the ordinary hours changes to include allowances. The loading is then based on this figure. However the allowances are still included as separate lines on the pay template and need to be removed manually. Can this be automated as it needs to be done manually for all employees for every annual leave period?
    I can opt not to include allowances in the calculation, but it makes sense to gross up allowances in the ordinary rate for this purpose.

    Hi team, thank you for engaging with us on your needs around auto super. I want to confirm that our product team are aware of your interest in this here.

    Right now, there are a few other items that need their immediate attention, so while there are no immediate plans for developing this, it's something they'll continue to review as resource becomes available. If there is any change to share around this we'll update you all through this idea.

  15. Currently, when you assign a leave type to a new employee, for all leave types other than annual leave and personal leave you have to go into that leave type on the employee card and manually change the leave settings to what should be the default for all employees. For example, RDOs should always be paid out on cessation of employment, but the default setting is "not paid out", and I cannot change the default setting, only each individual's settings.

  16. It would be great if there was an option (tick the box) to copy last week's wages for the current week for payroll. I have casual staff who sometimes have the same hours as the previous week's so not having to replicate this would be great and the quickest way would be to have a tick the box which can copy it across to the current payroll

It would be great if all the Completed leave was in order with the most recent at the top instead of having to change the order every time I need to see the most recent or scroll all the way to the bottom. I love how the rejected leave requests are now all at the bottom of the Leave list on the employee record but I'm not sure what the "Employee Surname (A-Z)" sort option is for when I'm in just one employee

  18. Add Public Holidays (and all other forms of leave) to the Leave Transactions report not just Annual Leave and Personal Leave.

  19. A report that shows current annual leave hours, plus leave available to take in advance hours for each employee. It's very time consuming to have to calculate leave if you want to give an employee leave in advance. Using the "show leave available to take in advance" option in the employee set up tends to give the wrong balances on the employee payslip which leads to confusion.
