  2. To have the Xero Fx rate populate automatically, show up as a suggestion, or be able to be selected via drop-down list within the Payments screen when Fx is involved. Currently you have to open a new tab, go to settings/currency, enter you date and then copy/paste the Fx rate.

  3. An option to set the date range to "last week" from the date range pull down options in account transactions reports.

    Being able to create custom account transactions reports set to "last week" would be invaluable for our weekly reporting, avoiding fiddly changes to the date range each week when pulling a number of reports, and preventing any dating errors.

    It would be a great advantage.

    Should be an easy to add that option to Xero, I would have thought.

    And it is a common option (e.g. GoCardless has it.)

    I am suggesting that within the Invoicing section of Xero, where a Search can be initiated, a checkbox is required that will "Include Description" - allowing customers to search for an invoice by the contents of the description field.

    I understand the performance impact on the overall system of putting this feature in the "Global Search" box, hence my suggestion to make it an "Optional" search via checkbox.

    Because the invoice reference field was reduced to 255 characters (https://productideas.xero.com/forums/939198-for-small-businesses/suggestions/49018595-new-invoicing-remove-255-character-limit-for-ref), this would be the only way to be able…

  5. “Send via Xero Network” feature in your invoicing system, which have negatively impacted our workflow and client payment behavior.

    Since the update, this option now appears at the bottom of the invoice, while the sending process begins at the top. This disjointed placement is not intuitive and often leads to it being overlooked. More importantly, the system does not remember this selection, requiring us to manually enable it every time we send an invoice.

  6. With in the Invoice Only User - Sales (Quoting & Invoicing) the user can still view all of your suppliers and the amounts you owe them via the contacts tab. If you want to give someone access to raise and sent sales invoices then they shouldn't be able to see all of your suppliers and especially shouldn't be able to see what you owe each of them!

    Hi team, we've made the change and this is now live. Now, what's visible for a user with an Invoice Only role will be dependent on their level of access.  Invoice Only Draft will no longer see the I Owe and They Owe columns, Invoice Only (Sales) will only see They Owe, and Invoice Only (Purchases) will only see You Owe. This change applies to sorting on the page as well.

  8. OLD vs NEW XERO INVOICING

    Customer Name search - this is when adding customer name on customer/contact field when creating a new invoice

    In the old version, the dropdown displays the full hospital name along with the contact email address. However, the new version only shows a truncated name (around 26-30 characters) without the email address. It would be better to retain the old version feature for this especially when there are multiple contacts but different departments, as it was easier to find out whether correct department was chosen and not to make additional right click just to be sure…

  9. Repeating Invoices have the option to provide an optional 'End Date', however it can sometimes be difficult and/or time consuming to identify the correct end date. There's also potential to miscalculate the correct end date which can sometimes result in customers being under or over charged if the selected end date results in the wrong quantity of payments.

    It would be very useful if there was a 'Quantity' option for Repeating Invoices which would automatically select the correct end date. Therefore eliminating over/under payments.

  11. Repeating Invoices - Ability to bulk update repeating invoices.

    We provide a subscription service which some of the 470+ customers have been using for years.

    At times we make changes to T&Cs, the wording, rates, payment services etc. and it would be extremely times shaving if we could do bulk changes i.e. change the Item, Due Date, Reference, Payment Services etc, without having to go into each repeating invoice individually.

  12. I have multiple clients who have members. They like to keep their members date of births on file, so they can send them birthday emails, or if they are over a certain age can get a discounted membership. It would be great to have either a dedicated date of birth field, or like some other accounting softwares a few open fields, that we could name per file, for additional required details, like date of births, member types, allergies, voting member etc. I'm sure these fields could be useful for other types of businesses as well.

  13. In Account Transactions reports, you should be able to add a column for "modified date". This would be extremely helpful when reconciling between information submitted to HMRC and the information in the nominal. I am no QuickBooks fan, but this is one feature that they have that Xero does not.

When reviewing a payment for an invoice, you need to click 3 times to review the transaction details..going into 4 screens, as it's on a separate screen (1-invoice 2-payment 3-transaction 4-transaction details). It would be more efficient to have the transaction details screen build into the same screen as the transaction screen. I don't see a need for a 4th screen, especially when you have click to go back to the previous screens when investigating multiple payments.

  15. Populate Contact Purchase Defaults when Bills arrive as e-invoice or from 3rd party app.

    As a bookkeeper I was so looking forward to promoting and using e-invoicing, but unfortunately it's not going to work for me (and many of my clients). This is because we often have invoices with A LOT of line items which are brought into Xero just as a total with one line only.     Thanks for your support here, everyone. Appreciate there is some interest in this from people emailing bills to their organisation, or importing via a 3rd party application. 

    We wanted to share a recent change we've made for those using eInvoicing - invoices received via Xero's eInvoicing will apply Contact defaults (such as a set default 'Purchase account) when creating the invoice in Xero. 😁

  16. Reduce the lag in items column when searching, it takes too long to search, sometimes up to 4secs! Please also change the location of the pop up message "default contacts have been applied", as when I start a new invoice the pop up message appears in the bottom left, but I'm trying to look at my contact info and enter items.     Hi team, rounding back to the idea here since our last post we have released a few different changes across the platform that will have improved the experience for those that were noticing lags when entering data in their invoices.

    As a start we released a new optimised line item grid, where among other changes we updated the Item field so you could view and select from more of your inventory items without needing to search.

    We have now also made some enhancements to speed up autosave of your invoices meaning these save faster - see more on the latest changes from the long and short of it.

  17. When emailing a sales invoice which has a credit note applied, the basic email template text should quote the amount owed MINUS the amount of the credit note. The email is incorrect with regard to the amount owed, and customers often erroneously overpay.

  19. There is system wide error in the back-end template that you use to generate invoice emails. Please refer screen captures attached. You will see that I have two lines in my Invoice 005614 that are text descriptions of services only so are effectively subheadings and have no account code and no "value". They appear correctly in the PDF invoice with a blank in the "Amount NZD" column but they appear incorrectly with a value of "0.00" on the email the customer receives.   20. The cash flow currently picks up bills to be paid on a specific date in the cash flow but if you set up a payment in advance and mark as paid in Xero, the bill disappears all together from the cash flow.

    The manual workaround is to "Add upcoming money in or out" but I would have expected Xero to pick them up as payments already set up on the bank account.
