    Hi Tom, it's already possible to pay superannuation contributions weekly. Auto Super allows you to make superannuation payments as regularly as you'd like. Are there further enhancements to this process that you feel would make it easier for you to make weekly super payments?

  2. With the current financial climate, employees are suspending their KiwiSaver contributions. The Inland Revenue (IR) allows the Employer to continue with the company's contribution voluntarily.

    At this stage, it is not 'officially' possible for the employer to contribute to KiwiSaver if the employee is on a Savings Suspension in Xero.

    The employee is on a Savings suspension, then the company cannot contribute either. Also, when on a savings suspension Xero requires an expiry date, IR does not always provide a date; instead, advising us when to recommence the KiwiSaver.

    If the employee's KiwiSaver is kept active…

  3. There needs to be a feature to turn off automatic notifications when an employee changes their bank account,
    Every time this changes in our system our Accountant gets an email.
    Apparently there is currently no way to turn this feature off.
    A bit irritating for him to say the least...

  4. set the number of decimals places e.g. 2 so when Xero applies a award factor e.g. 1.5x award rate the results only displays to two decimals place in their pay.
    Awards are published to two decimals places that's all we are required to pay in Australia.
    Fixing the rounding wastes so much time.

  6. A detailed pay run journal report would be much more useful than the current summary version. It is especially unhelpful that selecting the entry in an expense account just takes you to the pay run - it doesn't show you what is coded to which expense account. With many employees this can take a long time to find errors or to manually journal multiple costings

  8. It would be great if we could pay our employees similar to how we can process a batch payment in XERO for bills. At the moment I am having to go into the bank account at the end and pay each employee individually.

    Is there another way to do this ? I may be missing something.

    Thanks for your feedback and interest in the idea here. We appreciate the desire for being able to enable employees to make these changes themselves.

    While this is something the team will continually review as they keep developing Payroll for Australia, we want to be open that this is not in the direct plans atm.

    If there are any changes or progress for developing this we'll be sure to come back and update you on this, here.

  10. Ability to restrict which pay items an employee can view in Xero Me to only those that apply to that employee. Without this ability employees sometimes choose pay items that do not apply to them. Most often this is picked up at the authorisation stage but why allow the possibility for error in the first place.

  11. We need to be able to export SAFF (ATO super compliant files) to Superannuation clearing houses. I am unable to upload a file as Xero is not SAFF compliant.

  12. just like overtime wages, it's important to separate unused annual leave paid from regular annual leave paid because this will enable accountant to quickly cal-check whether super guarantee has been calculated/set up correctly. it's impractical or inefficient if we have to check all the pay item settings.

  13. I would like Xero to automatically lock the ABN on a client's file after the first STP event has been lodged. This will prevent clients changing the ABN when they change the entity's structure and reporting STP incorrectly across two ABNs. Undoing this mess is a nightmare.

  14. With separating the All purpose allowances. Is there going to be a selection for SICK LEAVE and RDO in the future? (Currently Contributes to Annual and Overtime) only. There is a lot of room for error when you have 50 employees and you have manually adjusted the rate for every single employee!! I'm sure we are not the only company that has RDO and Sick Leave where the all-purpose allowances need to be included in the base rate. Could you please Add this option to the allowances pay item. We are unable to continue with STIP Phase 2 unless this…

  15. When going to Payroll -> Pay Employees -> (inside your payrun) -> (Inside an employee's pay)
    There is an option to drop down the list of employees included in the pay-run to change between. Could this be made much bigger please.

    Same goes for teh Drop-Down in the Employee Setting Pay-Template tab

  16. Add in ability to forward date when a superannuation payment is processed. I would like to submit the authority when I review the monthly super but have the payment not made until it is actually due, which would be a date in the future that I enter.

  17. Please add unit and rate columns in this report.

    I know the second option is Payroll Activity Details report. However, when I download this report in excel, the Pay item type is under the employee column i.e not separated.

  18. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

    Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

    The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

  19. When approving timesheets it would be ideal to have separate lines underneath Ordinary Hours with Leave requested, on which days and hour amounts and to be able to approve there instead of having to go to a different screen.

    Can be hard to double check and remember correct days the leave was taken and also to ensure daily and weekly hours are met.
