Cash Coding - Ability to Save your progress
The sort feature in Cash Coding is great, however, not all bank feeds are. I often find I need to remove all the excess data imported in the bank feed before I can sort by payee.
It would be really useful if the changes I make in Cash Coding could be saved so I can work through a page then save.
I know, in a perfect world it would all be imported through Hub Doc, and clients wouldn't put personal transactions through the business or mix receipts from more than one of their businesses. Until we reach that stage the…2 votes -
Organisation settings - Setting to remove data 7+ years old
In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.
I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…
4 votesAppreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.
Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;
- You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
- Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date

Online Invoice - Remove prompt to pay by card
Add the option to change invoices with stripe card payments linked up so that the prompt to pay by card does not pop up when they open the invoice, but the link on the invoice stay available in the terms & payment advice section.
My reasoning behind this is that I would rather recieve payment by bank transfer to avoid processing fees, but still want to offer the option for someone to pay by card.

Bulk matching invoice receipts from a Direct Debit run
For a company that takes Direct Debits from customers and the receipt appears as one line on the bank statement it would be useful to be able to bulk match the receipt to multiple customers rather than having to manually select every invoice the receipt relates to. You could do this by being able to import invoice payments in the same way you can import invoices into Xero.
3 votesComing back to this idea we're going to switch this to delivered - you can make use of Batch deposits to group and match payments.

Shopify Integration - Confirm Daily payout settlements when importing
Subject: Request for Integration Enhancement of Xero and Shopify based on User Feedback
Dear Product Development Team,
Following my recent discussions with the Xero support team and research around user feedback on the issues I have experienced, I’d like to encourage relaying the integration feedback received from user experiences including my own, particularly regarding the timing differences between Shopify’s daily payout settlement and when the Xero integration pulls the data to create invoices. You can review some of this feedback through the following link: Shopify Xero Integration User Feedback: https://apps.shopify.com/xero/reviews?ratings%5B%5D=1
We’ve observed a gap in understanding the timing of these…

Batch Payment - File compatible with Lloyds CBO
Any chance we could get compatibility to upload batch payments to Lloyds Commercial banking online without having to manipulate the batch file outside of Xero before uploading.

Bill payments - Separate bill folders for different purchase types
We have a client that has subscriptions that are paid monthly via card with a "debit order", can you create different payables folders and link it to each bank account so that normal operating expenses that are paid weekly can match with the business' current account and have a separate folder in payables that has all the subscription invoices to match in the bank recon screen
1 voteHi Marinus, thanks for the detail of your needs here. While there's no particular feature for this right now, one option could be to use a consistent prefix that you add to the reference field of these type of bills.
When reconciling the payment in your bank account, you'd use Find & Match and could enter the prefix in the Search field to look up al the related bills for that period.

Bills to Pay list view - Show Tracking options
We use a lot of tracking options on our bills and invoices, sometimes we need to refer back to a particular bill in that tracking option for VAT treatment as an example, but the only way I have found to do that aside from opening each bill individually through the list to find the right category, is to run a tracking summary report, select the particular one and check the expenses - it would be much simpler to be able to see the tracking category alongside the bills to pay screen so you can easily open a bill for the…
4 votesHi team, while not shown directly on each row of the bills list, our new quick view for bills should resolve the needs here. 😊
By clicking on the eye icon from the list you'll see your bill shown on the right side of the screen and can use the arrows to quickly move through each bill and view the contents including any tracking that you've assigned within your bill.
Get in to try and we're keen to hear your feedback on using quick view in bills!

New invoicing | Overpayments - Account drop down (not up)
Thanks for fixing Over payments in the new system - works great! - 1 adjustment - the account menu pops - UP not Down, and bank accounts are off the top of the screen need a lot of scolling, can you change to normal pop-down please? (like the Date Paid menu)
2 votesThanks for the feedback, Stuart! Great to hear you're already using it. I've passed this back on to the team and will keep you updated if there's any planned change 🙂

Chart of Accounts - Add cash on hand account type
I would like to add an "Account Type" called Cash on Hand that would sit as a heading on the Balance Sheet Just like Bank, Curent Assets etc does. We have various sources of this account type, and I would like to group them rather than them sitting in current assets as they currently do. They are not technically bank accounts, so don't want them under that heading.

Bills - Record GST and employer deductions as bills and pay as batches
Where the business uses Xero for GST and payroll, it would be great to be able to create a bill off a finalised GST return or finalised payrun. To have the bill included in the payables automatically would ensure the bill is captured.
It would also be great to be able to pay GST and employer deductions with a batch file from Xero, just as we can with other bills. This would remove the need for manual loading of the payments in the bank and ensure the matching of the payment in Xero was a full circle to the finalised…4 votes -
Contact - View Available Credit
Display in the Contact Section the amount of Credit the customer has in his favor because of prepayments made by them. You are able to see the customers credit when you have an invoice they owe for it to be credited to that specific invoice. But it would be super helpful to view in that little summary of the customer, how much he owes the company and if there is any credit in his favor to be applier.
3 votesAppreciate the screenshot showing where you'd like to see this, Carlos. Not something we have immediate plans for but we'll track the interest here and share if there are any changes planned for surfacing credit limits visibility on a contacts record.

Batch payments - Print Receipts
The ability to print receipts for batch payments is desperately needed.
Currently there is no way to print a receipt for batch payments. There is only the ability to email receipts or print deposit summary. Deposit summaries do not contain the level of detail that a receipt does.
Currently, to print receipts for payments recorded in a batch deposits you have to email the receipt to yourself first. The problem with this is, when you enter your email address in the blank field it then automatically updates the customers contact details with your email address, so you have to…
4 votesThanks for your idea here, Laurie. Appreciate the detail in your post and why you'd like to see this.
Its not something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll continue to track the interest here and share any updates.
While not the ideal solution, for the time being to avoid updating your contacts record when you click send receipt from a batch payment, you could uncheck the recipients but have the option to 'Send me a copy' checked.

OLD P&L report - compare tracking options to be brought into new P & L reports
In the old P&L reports there was an option to compare jobs(tracking options) for a selected period. There was an option to filter the exact period (eg 1 month or 6 months) and it also displayed the line items relevant to the job for that month (eg individual COGS lines) It was used to compare Job COGS to a Project Management program used by the business. The new P&L has very limited features particularly relating to filtering. The only option we see now is hours of opening each job, line by line (as it shows all the jobs with no way…
5 votesHi team, returning to the idea here I believe what you're after is now available in the new Profit & Loss report. You can edit the report layout to add individual tracking columns and once all set up and saved as you like save the report as custom so you can easily access this anytime you need.

AU Payroll - Lock wage and super expense accounts
Where payroll is handled through Xero, please block the ability for client users to post bank transactions to Wages expense account and Superannuation expense account. It is time consuming to recode entries to the Wages payable account and Superannuation payable account. I have told some clients several times to not use the expense accounts but they still do it. If access to the expense accounts could be blocked when payroll is done through Xero, it would save a lot of time fixing the ledger accounts.

Bills - Quick option to add a new Supplier Credit Note
When you enter a bill and save it as a draft or approve a bill up the top it gives you the option to enter a new bill but it doesn't give you the option to enter a credit note. Because I can click add a new bill I enter all my invoices first but if Xero gave me the option to enter a credit note I would use this very much. Right now I have 14 supplier credit notes to enter and that is not unusual and it is very time consuming having to go back to the bill …

Aged history report for suppliers
Transaction/summary report for suppliers but showing history in aged format, to be able to report on what we;ve spent with a supplier for the last 12 months - Each month!
Xero really need to look at producing a report generator like sage had, so we can create any report we need.
2 votesHi Les, the Aged Payable Summary or Detail reports will produce what you're asking here. In terms of setting this up for a 12 month on month view you can change the Ageing Periods option to '12' periods of '1 Month'.

Profit & Loss | Tracking - Ability to drill down
The previous Profit & Loss report allowed you to filter by multiple categories. There was an add t report function which allowed users to drill down into secondary categories and export ALL of the data into one report which showed 1. A P&L Summary, 2. Detailed expenditure for the chosen secondary category. The "Add to report" function allowed the user to export the entire category details as a whole.
For our business this is critical. We are a bespoke project based company and use this filter constantly & No the project feature does not work for our business....I have…

AU Payroll - Payment summaries - copies or reprints
Payment Summaries in STP - Copies of prior years.
- It would be helpful if we could retrieve copies or make reprints of prior year payments. This is particular helpful where a new client comes on board, and you will not have history on files.

Tracking - Functionality for Rental Property Management
Have two codes - one for rental income & one for rental expenses.
When reconciling bank transactions to these codes, have the ability to allocate them to a property.
Have a feature where you can view the outstanding transactions for each property and select the transactions to go on the statement to the client for that month.
Auto generate the management fee for the month based on pre-selected criteria for that property - either % or fixed amount.
Auto generate a bill from this statement for the money that needs to be paid to the landlord.3 votesThanks for sharing and your interest in the idea here. Being open this isn't a feature we have any plans of implementing in the near term.
However, some of what's been described here can be achieved using Tracking. For example, you could create accounts in your Chart of Accounts for Rental Income and Rental Expenses. You'd then use a Tracking category for your Properties, listing each property as a separate option within that category.
Alternatively, if you're after more specific tools for managing properties we'd recommend looking into apps that can integrate with Xero and offer more services that could suit your business.
