  1. The existing Customer Invoice Report has a "Paid" column. This column shows the payments allocated to an invoice. This column excludes any credits allocated to the invoice.

    The new Receivable Invoice Summary report has a "Payments/Credits" column. This column shows the combined amount of payments AND credits allocated to an invoice.

  2. Trial Balance new report: Be able to run a report by tracking category. At the moment there is only an option to filter but if you have many tracking units you end up running a multiple reports and need to combine them all. Really time consuming.

    My proposal attached - with such report you could do any analysis you want!
    Option to run it by month "compare with" option a dream!

  3. Have the ability to enter employer pension contributions in the opening balances when adding a new client to Xero. At present the resulting payslip is incorrect as the YTD employer pension figure only shows the current month and not YTD.

  4. with the new functionality of adding start end times and notes, we are not able to print or download this data in any reporting. the only way we can SEE this info is in the individual timesheet by person.
    If you can update the report to include all information that would be useful as the current process is only half done.

    While this isn't something we have plans for atm, I'll update if there is any change around this to share.

  6. You can enter a group for an employee on the employment information but this function cannot be used on the reports.

    If the information of which employee is in which group, then surely its not a huge leap to add this function to the reports. Using the gross to net report, you could select a group rather than an individual, saving a lot of time.

  7. Kelly, the procedure to copy an invoice was improved, but it is still erroneous. We have tracking category (department) recorded in customer's settings. But for some customers we issue invoices with the other department tracking category.

    New invoicing does not copy that "other" category. When the invoice is copied, all customer's default settings applied to it. In my particular case, it is wrong. I do not want customer's default tracking category; I want a copy of the INVOICE with the correct tracking category. In short, the new invoice is to be an EXACT copy.

  8. P11 PAYE & P11 NIC annual reports, need to have an option to export as Excel, instead of auto downloading as a webpage.
    My auditor requested these in Excel format and there was not an option for this, it would make it much easier if these type of reports could have download options, so you could export to excel.
    This will also allow usage for tracking and internal auditing.

    Hey Sam, thanks for sharing this idea.

    As you’ve found, it’s not possible to export the P11 reports in excel format. Totally understand that copying and pasting details from the .html file is a time-consuming process!

    Just curious if there’s specific information required in the P11 reports that’s unavailable in our other reports?

    You can find much of the same information in the ‘Gross to Net’ and ‘Payroll Activity Detail / Summary’ reports, and they do support saving as an excel file.

  9. create a remove and copy option (similar to remove and redo) which then copies all details from the transaction you are deleting to a new transaction to then recode rather than trying to remember all the details from the transaction you are deleting

    Interesting idea, Gary - will be good to get a sense of the interest in this. Can you share more detail of scenarios you're finding you encounter where you need to   copy a transaction to a new one when removing it? 

    Is there a reason editing is not an option?- Or would this commonly be with a payment transaction against an invoice/bill?  

  10. We must be give an option or some kind of template to upload hours in Xero if there are hourly employees and number is huge. Doing manually is quite a challenge and time wastage.
    So this option must be available even if not using time sheet.

  11. Can we please have the ability to set a due date for an expense? Currently it is set as the day it is approved, but we pay all our expenses for the whole month, on the 15th of the following month. It would be good to be able to set this as default for any expenses raised.

  12. Recent changes to the report layouts when comparing categories means that categories without data no-longer show. It would be great for the user to have the ability to choose whether to include/exclude.
    This is particularly relevant when reporting is exported to Excel for customised reports that cannot be developed within Xero. The exported data out of Xero needs to have same column headings so that lookups in Excel continue to work.

    Appreciate the feedback, Julie. This has generally been to help keep the report clean.

    There aren't any direct plans for adding non used categories back into view but it'd be good to be able to share if there are any specific reports you're commonly using that you'd find this view useful in.

  14. Under the GL Summary Report(new) and GL Detailed Report (new), i notice they run by account code in alphabetical order as a result of which some Balance Sheet and P/L items are mixed together.

    How can i run both the above reports in a way whereby all the Balance Sheet items are on top in alphabetical order follow by all the P/L items thereafter in alphabetical order

  15. We raise an invoice to a client.
    They pay it.
    Then for some reason, something changes.
    We need to raise a credit note against that invoice!

    I know I can create a new one from scratch but I want the history with this particular invoice and all the other details that I have already typed into it.

    What I DON'T want - is to delete the payment, create the credit note, delete the allocation of the credit to the invoice, then reapply the original payment.

    It is not an option within Xero to 'copy to draft' and…

    Thanks for coming back to me on this, Josh. Appreciate the added insight and I've made sure to share this back with our team.

    While it doesn't resolve the needs here right now, I wanted to share this idea that you may also like to join and stay updated in case there is any progress directly within Project reports.

    For the time being, there's no direct plans made for this on the payroll side but I'll continue to keep you updated if anything changes. Thanks

  17. There is no reason to keep the previous bank holidays on every payslip.

    I can’t seem to get rid of previous bank holidays from showing on current/future payslips. Why are bank holidays from the Easter and the King's Coronation still appearing on payslips May 2023 onwards?? Doesn’t look very professional. This is all on the YTD earnings line. Why isn't there an option to remove it? Clients are not very happy.

  18. Adding tracking categories to VAT return/reports:

    I would like to run a VAT return/report per quarter to be shown by tracking category rather than as a whole. There is not an option on the current VAT report to add the tracking categories, therefore I think this would add benefits to any client that uses tracking categories for departments.

    Thanks for your response, Jordan. Can see why the Account Transactions report won't fit in this scenario. 

    To be upfront we don't have current plans around this with much of our reporting teams focus on change in the new reporting framework in lead up to removing older reports in July this year - More on this here 

    I've slightly amended the title of your idea and we'll feel out the interest for this here and update if any change is planned. 

    For now if not already, I'd highly encourage sharing link to the idea here with your clients and colleagues that'd like to see this to support, too. 

  19. There needs to be a feature to turn off automatic notifications when an employee changes their bank account,
    Every time this changes in our system our Accountant gets an email.
    Apparently there is currently no way to turn this feature off.
    A bit irritating for him to say the least...
