  1. When entering a bill or invoice, you enter the total at the top then add statement lines, would be great if it showed remaining amount to be charged/ reconciled to reach the desired total. This would cut down admin time when reconciling bills after entering gst amount could show the total remaining as the non gst amount so you do not need to calculate the remaining amount.

  2. I would like to be able to have a foreign currency account in the COA other than bank accounts. If an invoice is received and paid in a foreign currency, it should show as the foreign currency as the source, not the base currency. This affects loan accounts a lot and if invoices are paid from a loan account, instead of a bank account, you can't keep the currency consistent.

  3. We are a multi-currency business. We send out invoices in GBP (base currency), EUR and USD. We have 3 bank accounts (GBP, EUR, USD. I therefore had to create separate invoice templates for each currency, to show the correct bank details. I added the relevant invoice theme when setting up a new contact (customer). This works well when raising an invoice. However when manually sending out a statement it does not take the invoice theme from the one chosen on the invoice (= in our case normally default invoice theme on contact).   4. For the Aged Receivables it would be helpful to know what customers owe us as well as what we owe them. We take deposits for future invoices and they don't show on the Aged REceivable Summary.

  5. Sales Overview Improvement Request: Add "Send Date"

    To enhance our efficiency and reduce time spent looking up invoice details, it would be beneficial to add the "Send Date" to the Sales Overview page.

    Reason for the Request:

    Clients sometimes claim they have not received an invoice and ask when it was sent. Currently, to answer this, we must navigate into each individual invoice and check the history, which is time-consuming.
    Our team members occasionally inquire about the send date of invoices as well, and without this information readily visible, they too have to go into the invoice history.

    Thanks for sharing the details that’d help you when chasing payments and invoicing in Xero. We don’t have direct plans for developing this atm, however as we continue to plan further developments within invoicing, our product teams would like to get your input, so they can get a deepened sense of our invoicing users for future improvements.   6. In the Standard Invoice template - the delivery address currently shows in the middle column, rather than under the name of the business. This is confusing if a business has multiple locations, with one centralised billing address. It means that the centralised billing office can't easily see which location the invoice is for/items were delivered to.
    It would be better to show the delivery address under the name of the "To" so it's obvious which location the items were delivered to with the name and the corresponding details of address and contact person.

  8. Have all tasks automatically marked as invoiced (preferably with invoice number) when they have varying hourly rates and times set within the task. Also ability to mark any task manually as invoiced and assign an invoice number if required.

  10. A feature that allows an email to be sent for a voided invoice to the client so they have confirmation the invoice is voided as verification.
    This can be as simple as taking the invoice template / previously generated pdf and branding "VOIDED" or "CANCELLED" on top of it.

We use the search facility when trying to locate a previous invoice from a customer but the search doesn't show a summary of the items ordered (the "description" column) so could you perhaps add the "description" column listing into the search results when the down arrow is pressed that currently only shows the date and payment total. We find we need to go through so many invoices just to find the one which has a certain "product" customer ordered.

    Hey community,

    As some of you are aware, you can edit a contact and set a credit limit, and optionally block new invoices when the credit limit is reached in new invoicing.

    Understand that a few of you are asking for a feature to put a stop on a contact so they can’t be sent invoices regardless of what their credit limit is, as well as others who'd like to see this implemented on the supplier side.

    We'd like to confirm that this is not something we have plans to develop at this time. We're still interested to get a clearer understanding of users that'd like to see this developed, and will continue to track this through the conversation here 👀

  14. Would it be possible to create a setting where users can be blocked from processing an invoice with duplicate reference numbers. There is currently a message displayed but some users click past it therefore creating duplicate invoices/bills. Perhaps the message can be made more prominent and displayed in Red to alert users.

    Hi team, as you might've noticed duplicate detection in bills is now available to everyone! 🥳

    We have a bit of detail on how this works in Xero central. Just to confirm outside of the Actions column If you need to view or edit a bill you'll need to return to the bills list to open the bill from here and make changes.

    Our team are considering future enhancements in this space to enable you the ability to access bills from this screen. 😊

When running Payment Reports such as Bank Account Transactions or Accounts Receivable reports when you select the Column option of 'Invoice Number' the report includes Invoice Number in the report headings but does not actual provide the Invoice Number for each transaction. We would expect the reports to be able to show the Invoice Number field.

    Hi all, this depends on the type of transaction that you're viewing in the Account Transactions report.

    Payment transactions don't have an 'Invoice Number' field in themselves, instead they are associated to an invoice. If you have not entered a separate reference the invoice number it's associated too will show in the Reference column of the report.

  16. Having the ability to upload invoices in the same manner as the recently introduced bill upload would be great addition for those users who run industry POS software that generates sales their invoices and stock and ordering management.

The ‘fresh new look’ you have decided to give invoice emails is garish and on the verge of being offensive/pushy - WE ARE NOT A FAN! - and we have been told that this cannot be adjusted!!!!!!!!!!! - REALLY!!!!!!???? - not impressed!!!!! - give the option to amend this or put it back to as it was, please!!!

    Sorry to hear the changes are not to your liking, Oliver. While we won't be changing back I can definitely share any specifics that you'd like to see changed. Can you give me any more detail on what it is about the new look that you don't like? 

  18. When Posting a customer invoice it would be very useful to be able to see customer address and ROI vat number so I can apply the correct vat code. ATM I have to go to contact details for that information then back into invoice posting

    Hi Gillian, understand it doesn't accomplish all of your idea here. However you can view a contacts address from the invoice. If you click on the 'To' field once you've added the contact you'll be able to view their email, postal and delivery addresses and telephone.

    Hey community, thanks for your continued interest in this idea.

    From the 4th September, we’ve removed the option to add Pay with Wise to your Xero subscription for new sign ups, and we made the decision to completely remove the feature from 26th February 2024.

    Our team is hard at work on an alternative bill payment solution that uses Open banking.

  20. Enable Xero to remember the zoom and window size when viewing a document attached to an invoice, bill, purchase order etc.

    I always find it annoying that the default size for viewing an attachment is too small and I need to increase the zoom and window size every time.
