  1. It is really basic, the permission control is not flexible and give more options. How about to give multiple choosing box for permissions. I want to create a user and give him permission to create and print quotations and a purchase order permission to create and submit for approval. Because the purchase approval permission i want to give to the manager levels only.

  2. Ability to have separate fields for posting date and invoice date.

    Purpose: To make users can ensure the expense is recorded in the appropriate month (posting date), and the due date is properly calculated (invoice date).

    Hi community, we appreciate this idea has collected a fair amount of interest which has all been shared with and reviewed by the product team.

    While this isn't currently being worked on there are other ideas this team are working on right now, including a bulk void feature and highlighting rows when selected. Although these features are still under development process and we don't have confirmed release dates yet.

    With regards to having a separate field for the posting date and invoice date, our team is interested in better understanding this idea as it may be something they look to develop down the track. They really appreciate and encourage you to continue to share your experiences, pain points and insights. This will help them understand how this feature can benefit you and other customers, as well as gauge demand for it.

  3. Bank Reconciliation - Match Does Not Work with Contact Account Numbers

    The ability to search by contact account numbers when matching bank transactions is essential as most deposits on the bank statements are referenced with the client/customer account number only. The bank reconciliation ignores contact account numbers in totality.

  4. We would definately want to see the hourly rate and hours for overtime for staff on annual salaries.
    At the moment the overtime hours are printed but not the rate of pay for the overtime.

  7. Not sure about other pensions, but when using NEST, Xero doesn't currently link up how you would like it to.
    Whether you pay staff monthly or weekly, you are bound to have a cut off date for calculating hours which is before the date you send payment to employees.
    The info that gets shared when filing the pension records is the "payment date". This physical date falls under the following pay period meaning when the info is transferred to NEST it comes up as the wrong period.

  8. I occasionally log in on mobile to reconcile my bank feeds, via my browser (Firefox, but the problem existed on Chrome as well when I used that). Whenever you reconcile a payment and the auto-focus moves to the next payment, if there's not an invoice suggestion for the amount, the page zooms directly to entering 'Name of the contact' taking up the whole screen. You have to then pinch the whole view repeatedly to zoom out enough to see the option for 'Find & Match'.

    Hi Laine, it sounds like you're using a browser from your mobile device here. Did you know that you can now use Find and Match on the Xero Accounting app? As the apps are optimised for use on a mobile device this maybe a solution to the issue faced.

  10. In the Manage Direct Payment screen we need the ability to change the batch status for a batch that has not been processed and the batch has been superseded by a later batch. We need to be able to change the status to Cancelled or Failed rather than sitting as processing to ensure we know what the actual status of each batch really is.

  11. Being able to customize each user role is quite important as every person in every company does something different. Giving them access to systems they shouldn't have because the User Role they need to do their job allows them access to these other areas is a security risk in general.

    Putting in Custom Roles will also allow companies to adjust the Users to their Company Policies for controls.

    Appreciate the idea here - Being transparent, developing granular permissions or roles for every feature and action throughout Xero is not in our plans. 


    Understanding more of the permission sets majority of users need, will help understand where the biggest impact could be made. 

    I've slightly adjusted the title to suit the needs of the role you mentioned. We'll get a sense of others that'd like this too. 

  12. We always have a significant number of bills "Awaiting Approval". As such our P&L is never accurate and for our large company it is out significantly.

    It is the exception and rare that a bill will not be approved (ie didnt receive stock). Therefore the P&L would finally be closest and most accurate if it included "Awaiting Approval"

    This should be included. If not then a button should be available so that the company can make this decision themselves and include the "Awaiting Payment" bills.

    Appreciate how this would be beneficial for your business having assurity in an awaiting approvals likelihood. 

    With businesses having varying levels of assurity around this I want to be open that we don't have any direct intention fo changing reports like the P&L to automatically include this, however we'll begin to track the level of interest around this, here. Thanks

  14. Currently, when an invoice get's sent to Xero, it goes into the Xero inbox. Usually, one needs to go into the attachement itself to view whether it's an invoice or a credit. Once inside the attachment, there's no option to create the bill from there directly. You must go back out, into the list of items in the inbox, click on the three dots to the right to create the necessary document. It would be helpful if we could view the attachement and create the necessary document via that screen, without having to come out of it.

  17. Memberships/ Subscriptions/ Portal

    New feature required offering memberships/ subscriptions so that clients pay through Xero weekly/ fortnightly/ monthly etc. They would need to have their own log in portal which shows the subscription/ membership they’ve signed up to. Even if this was a subsidiary company of Xero. Even better if there was a dedicated Xero team who helps draw up legal templates and whom follows up failed payments etc.

    Hi Emma Rose, coming across your idea, would you be able to share a bit more detail to make sure I share this back with our team correctly? When you say you'd want a dedicated team to draw up legal documentation - would this be to manage Partner subscriptions that your clients purchase from you as the advisor?

  18. In the old reports, once the account was added to a subgroup, the account code would automatically be in alphabetical order. However, this is manual for the new reporting.

    A good function would be to automate this in the new reports as well (per the old reports) rather than dragging and dropping manually.
