  1. SureIy this would be a no brainer??

    I'd like an option to download PDFs with a password automatically added.

    The password could be added in the company setting pages with the option to download "Protected PDF" when you print a report.

    This feature seems so simple to create and i'm not sure why it hasn't been thought of.

    This would also save us having to do this manually with every report sent to a client.

    Please set this up at it would be a great option for bookkeepers and accountants.

  2. Have the ability to use the search function, regardless of what you are currently looking at.

    Right now, whenever you are in the Report section or the Fixed Assets section, you do not have the ability to search. You have to go to a different page, and then you're allowed to search.

    Quickly following on from our last update our teams have been working hard to keep developing consistency in search. You'll now find you can search from any screen across your Xero organisation!

    We appreciate direct feedback on the screens you wanted to see this capability such as Fixed Assets, Payroll, new Invoicing, Reports - Now, wherever you go in your org, you'll find the magnifying glass in the blue navigation bar. 😁

    Purpose: Because in some organisation, only some people can only see the information for some reports.

    Hi everyone, thanks for the interest in this idea.

    As you can appreciate, user roles span across the entire Xero product so there’s many combinations of permissions our customers want to see us build. Specifically, our reporting product team is very much aware of the challenges with the current permission sets relating to sharing individual reports with different users and are beginning to look into how we might be able to alleviate some of these reporting challenges.

    However, at this stage it’s far too early to anticipate or confirm any direction on where this discovery work will lead, but it will inform our next steps. Additionally, as I'm sure you can appreciate there are sensitivities of data access and security. Creating upgrades to user permissions will need very careful consideration. As most will be across, the reporting  team are leading up to retiring older versions of Xero’s reports on 31

  4. I refer to the Customer/Supplier Bill Activity reports which shows transactions as positive and negative figures. Could you *** create a report to show bill activity in Debit & Credit separate columns format instead of positive and negative figures in 1 column? Thank you

  5. Please re-work the Employee Contact Details report to include ALL of the information available in the employee bulk upload template and in the same format. Also add email address to the bulk upload format as it is already in the Employee Contact Details report.

    When a client undergoes a restructure, the employees must be copied into the new file. It is EXTREMELY time consuming to type it all.

    You have the start of a great export/import ability, it just needs a little bit of attention and it would be perfect.

  7. On 31 July 2023 my old Trial Balance that shows the current movement per the months selected as well as the YTD figures will be discontinued. It will be replaced by a Trial balance that only shows the YTD figures and the comparative figures with the previous year. That doesn't help me at all when I have to do a monthly management report and can only see the YTD figures. I'm begging you, don't discontinue the old Trial Balance report! Or at least give me the option between displaying YTD figures and the movement for a specific period.

    Hey community, just popping back as promised! We’ve rolled out an update to the Trial Balance report this morning, adding in two new additional columns that show the monthly movement, similar to the older report. You can add in these optional columns from the Columns drop down menu - I’ve attached a screenshot for reference.

  8. I want to start using the W9 Management tool going forward. I have a number of Suppliers that I received the paper pdf of the W9 and I have populated the 1099 info manually and attached the W9pdf to files. However, in order to use the new tool effectively, for those that I already have the details for, I would like to manually amend the W9-Status to received, so only new suppliers are highlighted as not received and I can send the link out for completion. Not being able to change the flag to received for historical clients actually makes…

    Hi community, our product team have been doing some work in this space and we're pleased to share that as of today you can now manually mark a W-9 as being received from the W-9 Management page 🎉

    This helps you edit the status where you have received W-9 forms through another source, such as PDF.

  9. When importing a text block report from Figured into Xero annual accounts template, we have no control over the page breaks. This often results in undesirable page breaks. An ability to add page breaks into a text block would fix this.

    Thank you for your engagement and sharing through product ideas, everyone. While we appreciate wanting more flexibility and detail in payroll reports, with payroll development quite separated for each region, and to help our product teams best understand the data that would be most useful for our customers we're going to close this idea and recommend starting ideas for the specific fields that would be helpful in reports and why you'd find this useful.

  11. Projects module has functionality to enter a deadline date but none of the reporting options can export a column with it.

  12. Can we have one more column or filter option containing Bills/ Expenses status like Paid, Awaiting payment, Awaiting approval and Draft to generate every details on project bills/ expenses record in "Project Details Report" or Project features in "Payable Invoice Detail" report.

  14. To show the invoice line detail in project reporting rather than a consolidated invoice line.

    You have to allocate each individual line on the invoice to a project but on the project report it consolidates to just one line which doesn't make sense when you put the level of detail at the invoice that it doesn't pull through that detail to the project reporting.

    Hi everyone - We've just released an update to Account Transactions report and added a Contact field! 


    Next time you open this report you should see 'Contact' as an option in Columns, Grouping/Summarising and Filtering - See an example below and enjoy making use of this new field and adding another level of insights to your reporting in Xero 🙂 

  16. When running the Transactions by box number tab of the GST F5 Return, the Invoice Number will not be shown if we have already entered a reference on the invoice.

    If there is no reference entered, Xero will then show the Invoice Number under the 'Reference' column instead. Screenshot attached.

    This makes it difficult to do checking as most users do use the reference when creating invoice but showing the reference usually does not have much significance to the accountant/bookkeeper who is doing the checks for GST submission.

    We do hope that the Invoice Number column can also be shown…

  17. On the Receivables and Payables Detail report, include a flag that shows when a planned payment date has been manually identified (as opposed to the credit terms due date). Will simplify cashflow forecasting

  18. Xero's Sales Tax Report doesn't recognize the great state of California's tax year: 7/1-6/30. Xero pull-downs only offer calendar-year options (1/1-12/31). So, we couldn't set up Sales Tax Report for largest state in the US. Please fix this. We can do it ad infinitum manually, but it seems that Xero could fix the problem. (Avalara could inform Xero if other US states also vary from a simple calendar Tax Year reporting.)

    1. depreciation schedule present by monthly - can show each month depreciation
    2. inventory xero function - not good for SG country
    3. export report, GL - kindly include the attached document together when export out. so we don not need save another document in our server. every doc can view via xero software.
    4. phone apps - xero - not much thing can do. just for upload purpose. not good enuf. at the end we still need use laptop to do the job.

    Hi Wendy, thanks for sharing your feedback here. So that other users can understand your idea and vote for it, it's better to keep to one suggestion per product idea. It also helps us accurately gauge interest in specific ideas to share with the right product teams for prioritisation.


    We'll leave this idea as "Depreciation schedule report - break down by month" and I've created a new idea for your 3rd point, and added your vote to it.


    For points 2 and 4 we need more detail to understand specifically what is lacking in inventory and the phone apps. Would you please be able to see if any other ideas already exist for the features you'd like to see, and vote for them. If they don't already exist, create a new idea per request 😊
