  1. When you go into a client and enter the jobs tab, there is no job for that client even though they are part of the group that there is a job for and that client is included within that job. The job only shows for the single client where the job is created.

    The jobs tab already includes sections for active jobs and archived jobs. It should also show a section for jobs assigned to other clients within its group.

  2. It would be good to be able to run a report of all Xero clients that have unfiled STP, or be able to view at a glance on XeroHQ. This would assist in making sure clients are meeting their compliance obligations quickly rather than go into every client to look at the Payroll Overview.

  3. Would be great to have the ability in XPM tax to identify if the client has a payment arrangement with IR. If there is somewhere in tax we can enter this information and this gets flagged when approving the tax payment letter, not to send the letter if the tax year is under arrangement.

  4. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

    Hi Martin, thanks for sharing this idea! We totally get how useful it would be to have a dedicated report for prepayments and miscellaneous invoices in Xero Practice Manager. It could save time, cut down on errors, and make reporting a lot easier.

    Right now, there’s no built-in option for this, and we know the manual workarounds aren't ideal.

    We understand that a single report for all invoices and receive money transactions, including key details like Quantity and Unit Price, would be a big help 🤔. We know it can be time-consuming to switch between different reports to get a full view of a contact’s activity. While this specific report isn't on our immediate development roadmap, we're always looking to improve Xero's reporting. For now, you can use the Contact Transactions Summary report for a quick overview or combine exported data from multiple reports into a spreadsheet. We'll keep monitoring this idea and use your votes and comments to help prioritise our future work.

  8. In many accounting software platforms, the established workflow for onboarding a new individual client and preparing their Income Tax Return leverages ATO pre-fill data efficiently.

    This process typically involves:

    • Adding the new client to the ATO portal.
    • Downloading the pre-fill XML file directly from the ATO portal.

  9. Client Merge popup box needs to be expandable. It wants me to select which client that will merge into from the other (which is irreversible) but I can't expand the popup screen or hover over the fields to see what is written in full to know which one to select.

  10. It would be great to have a feature that allows users to group clients within their HQ (or the main dashboard) in a way that only selected users with specific permissions can access certain client groups. This would provide more granular control over who can see and manage specific clients, making it easier to manage access for teams working on different client accounts.

    This would be especially helpful for firms with multiple teams handling different types of clients (e.g., accounting, payroll, etc.), ensuring that only relevant team members can view and work on certain client groups.

    Hi Rumyana, this is a thoughtful idea, and we can see how having more control over who can access specific client groups in Xero HQ would be useful, especially for firms with different teams handling various services like payroll, BAS, or advisory work.

    The idea has been reviewed and is now gaining support, which means it’s open for others to vote and share how this would help in their practice. As support builds, it helps give the product team a clearer view of the need across different types of firms.

    If there are particular scenarios or workflows where restricted access would make a difference for your team, feel free to add those as a comment. The more context we can gather, the better positioned the team is to understand the real-world impact.

  11. Automated reminder for Xero Sign Bundle expiration
    I have just been caught out again with expiry of unused transactions in my signing pack of 150. Instead of being cut off at expiry date or having to remember to go and look it up could there just be an automated reminder. Also, for us small sole traders it would be great to have smaller bundles than 150, even 50 at a time. Even better, why not let us use all of our transactions we have paid for. Still need an automated message that they have expired.

    Hi Angela,thanks for letting us know an automated reminder for your Xero Sign bundles would be a huge help, and we really appreciate you bringing this idea to our attention. For now, the best way to stay on top of your usage is to manually check your remaining transactions and the expiry date in Xero HQ > Xero Sign. A good workaround is to set up your own calendar reminder 🗓️ to check in on your bundle regularly. This will help you avoid any last-minute surprises. Right now, an automated notification for expiring Xero Sign bundles isn't on our immediate roadmap. However, your feedback is incredibly valuable and helps us understand which features are most important to you. We'll be sure to keep you in the loop on any changes to the status of this idea. 🔄


  12. It would be good to be able to customise the Declaration that is just above the signing line in the Tax Returns. The default wording is quite broad, and it we would prefer to be able to customise it to reduce our risk. Clients are not always truthful in reporting all income, and we need to protect ourselves.

    Thanks for sharing this idea with the community. We can understand why being able to add specific wording to the client declaration would be useful.

    This idea is open for voting and comments from the community, and we'll be keeping an eye on its progress to gauge interest.

    In the meantime, while it's not possible to edit the declaration on the return itself, you can add your own custom text and disclaimers to a cover letter that you send with the tax return. This might help you manage the risk you mentioned.

  13. Document Pack - Allow time delay.
    For example I want to finish the work now but dont want it sent to the client for another 2 days so can set a time to be sent out.

    We can see how having more control over when document packs are sent would be useful in managing your client communications more effectively. While this idea is still new, it’s been reviewed by our community team and is now marked as Gaining Support.

  14. Make a force sync button from Xero to Hubdoc.
    E.g. adding a new account in Xero takes a while for it to eventually show in Hubdoc.
    Unless you have to disable and reactivate the Xero-Hubdoc link

    Why not a button, that just 'force sync' the new chart of accounts into Hubdoc?

  15. When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.

    This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

  16. Some banks require the ABN or ACN to be present on all pages of the Financial Reports supplied to them. Currently, the only way to do this is to export the report to Excel and then painstakingly type the ABN/ACN in to every single page.

    There should be an option to toggle this on/off. Alternatively a field type that pulls the ABN from the company file would be suffice to add to the report template.

  17. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

    We understand how much smoother data entry would be with a more user-friendly date picker when entering historical dates in the Relationships tab in Xero HQ. Being able to quickly scroll or jump through years would save you time and make the process much easier.

    Right now, the date picker requires multiple clicks to go back several years, which can slow things down. Your suggestion for an improved, intuitive date selector would make a big difference to your workflow.

  19. Create the ability to update time entries for draft bills.
    We often have a manager draft the bill and between the bill being created and it being approved by a director, there is additional time added to the job. If there was an option to refresh the bill to include all time before approval, rather than having to delete the bill and start again, that would be amazing!

  20. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.
