AU Tax - Remove 0 in managed funds pre-fill from ATO
We have noticed an error, where, when managed fund distributions are prefilled from the ATO, a zero is put in the Item 24 - Other Income
This causes an error for each managed fund prefill that needs to be manually fixed by going in and deleting that entry in the schedule.
I just recently had a client with 15+ managed fund imports (owned jointly with his wife, so same issue on her side) which meant I had to waste quite a bit of time going into each schedule, only to delete the zero at the bottom.
If you could arrange for this to be fixed, it would be greatly appreciated.

Hi team, pleased to share that we've now delivered a change where when you create an Individual Tax return with prefill, Xero will remove 0's for you.
This option will also appear if you re-prefill the return at a later stage after creating the tax return at which point if selected, a History event will appear on the return indicating 0's have been removed.
We really appreciate all the engagement and sharing on the impact this difference makes for you all here.

Oh yes those zeroes are such a time waster. In June 2025!
Even the prefill report from the ATO doesn't show Nil amounts, why does Xero create them? -

100% agree. Not only this, but it also puts 0 in primary production which causes an averaging error and in ESIC offset also. Surely they can have and "if 0, don't import" in their coding?

WHY IS THIS STILL AN ISSUE IN 2024 JUNE?

Agree that this is incredibly annoying and needs to be fixed. It also by default puts the client into primary production averaging.

Incredibly annoying issue and one that eats into efficiently completing I returns. Hopefully the programme can look at a field in the trust distribution schedule and parse IF 0 THEN "blank" else "number"
