Dashboard - Quick Access Widget for Favourite Reports
Hi. Could we have a widget which provides shortcuts to the reports we've added as favourites, please?
4 votesHi Terry, it's great to hear your idea on how to make the dashboard work harder for you! Having your key reports front and center would make it more accessible.
Right now, jumping into the full reports menu multiple times a day can feel a bit repetitive, especially when you rely on certain custom reports.
For now, you can use the “Starring” feature in the Reports center. Star your favourites and they’ll appear at the top of the Reporting menu for quicker access. Some users also find it handy to bookmark report URLs in their browser for instant access.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so the product team can see how much interest there is in more dashboard customisation.

Homepage - Add the ability to group widgets together
With many accounts on the homepage (for example multiple currency accounts), it would be great to be able to drop the widgets into a group. Almost like the iPhones home screen. The difference would be that I could have the ability to resize the group to display the widgets in the group so they could be seen all at one (if desired). e.g. A collapsable view. e.g. All my EUR accounts grouped together.
Rather than making the group resizable to any size, it would be limited to a 3x1 or a 1x3 arrangement, Or some other practical variation
17 votesHi everyone, it makes a lot of sense to want a cleaner way to organise dashboard widgets. When related items like bank accounts or invoice summaries are grouped together, it’s easier to find what you need without much scrolling..
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button at the bottom of the page to reorder widgets—move your most-used ones to the top and hide the rest.
This idea is now Gaining Support, so we can see how many others would like more control over dashboard layout. We’d love to hear how you’d group your widgets—keep the votes and comments coming!

Homepage - Lines/border around widgets
I would like lines around the widgets as I find it confusing to see where each one starts and finishes. When I use the edit homepage option the lines are good.
49 votesHi! Thanks for sharing your idea about how putting borders around the widgets would improve the look of the homepage for you.

connecting Stripe account to get payment details immediately
Having Stripe account shown. Then as soon as payment is made via Stripe, you know it's been paid, instead of waiting for notifications.
1 voteHi Julie, thanks for sharing your thoughts here. We'd like to get a bit more information on what the idea is here. Can you please provide us an example of a scenario of what it is that you're wanting? We look forward to your reply!

File upload | Receipts - Automatically recognise and link to transaction
When uploading a receipt, Xero should recognise the information on the receipt and automatically find the bank transaction or ones similar to match with, like what Quickbooks does. It would make life a lot easier.

Homepage - Net cash movement line overlay for Cash In & Out widget
Add a net cash movement line (cash in minus cash out) overlaid on the Cash In & Out widget.
This would let business owners instantly see whether cash is actually building or eroding over time, without running reports or exporting data.
A net cash overlay (or toggle) would make the dashboard far more useful for real-world cashflow decision-making.
4 votesHi Regan, we can see how having a net cash movement line would be a real time-saver. While the bars for money coming in and going out give a good sense of activity, having that “bottom line” plotted as a trend would make it much easier to see your actual cash flow health at a glance.
At the moment, the Cash In and Out widget already shows cash in, cash out, and the difference, where a cash in net shows as a positive difference and vice versa. For a more detailed view, head to Short-term Cash Flow under the Reporting menu to explore trends and movements beyond the main dashboard.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many in the community would find a net cash line useful. If this is something that would make your day-to-day easier, add your vote or share your experience—hearing…

Homepage - Show bank feed refresh/loading status
When refreshing the bank feed we used to get a "loading" type of notification on the old layout on the homepage when it was actively refreshing. Now nothing seems to be showing but when I switch back to the old layout I can see that it's "loading" (or if I click on the bank itself).
It's helpful to know if the feeds is "thinking" or not so I don't prematurely bug the client to fix on their end. And an overview of all the accounts that are loading is nice instead of having to click on each one. Thanks!
5 votesHi everyone, it does sound like a bank feed status indicator would be a really helpful addition, giving you a quick sense of whether your imported statement lines are fully up-to-date or still processing.
We understand how important it is to have that confirmation—without a clear visual cue, it can be hard to tell if the feed is still loading, has completed, or if something has gone wrong. Knowing the current status at a glance helps you trust the numbers and act quickly if there’s an issue.
As such, we've moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest in making bank feed status more visible on the homepage. It would be great to hear from the community and understand how this could make a difference for everyday workflows.

Dashboard - Option to link Account Watchlist to Balance Sheet
From the watchlist for chart of accounts I would prefer the link go to the balance sheet, not the full chart of accounts.

Homepage - Widget for a customer/supplier watchlist
Watched Clients/suppliers widget
Summarise the invoices and Bills for a given contact
It would be nice to have an overview of specific (perhaps problematic) clients.
It would be good to be able to see at a glance:
- average payment timeframe (i.e. usually 5 days late etc.)
- current credit/debt value
- scheduled invoices/bills1 voteHi everyone, I can see how having a watchlist for key customers or suppliers would be really useful. Whether it’s keeping an eye on a major account’s balance or making sure a supplier hasn’t overbilled you, having those names front and center would save a lot of manual searching.
Right now, important accounts can sometimes slip through the cracks, since you have to remember to check on them individually. A dedicated watchlist would mean Xero could flag the status of these contacts the moment you log in, helping you stay on top of your business relationships.
For now, you can use the Account Watchlist to track overall categories, and for individual contacts, you can bookmark their Activity page in your browser. This lets you jump directly to their transactions and balances with a single click, saving time navigating through multiple screens.
I’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support so our…

Dashboard - Files Widget to allow drag and drop
A widget for the Files section that you can drag/drop into without having to click top left, then Files.

Dashboard - Allow custom or extended timeframes (12+ months) for Cash In and Out widget
Can we be allowed to change the time selection on the cash in and out view (eg to 12/13 or even 18 months?) seems to be stuck on 6 months for me. I think to see trends you really need to see at least a year
10 votesHi there, thanks for the suggestion!
You're right that the current 'Total Cash In and Out' widget is fixed to a 6-month view.
While you can see longer periods by running a Cash Summary report, I understand that having that 12 or 18-month trend visible immediately on your dashboard would be much more powerful for spotting seasonal patterns.
I’ve classified this as 'Gaining Support' to see how many others would like more flexibility with this widget's timeframe

Users - Show number of days for 'Last Signed In' in the previous year
The 'Last Signed In' date on the homepage is a bit misleading when in the situation where you signed in before the Xmas break, and then signed in again in the new year. Currently the way it handles this 'Last signed in 1 year ago' makes it sound like you haven't signed in for 12 months.
I think a better solution here would be if it just said x days ago

Homepage - Negative values in brackets and coloured RED thoughout Xero, not just the Homepage
The only option is for the Homepage - but my suggestion is for the whole system.
Having negative values in brackets and coloured RED - easier to see at a glance. To me that should be a basic feature. Extending that to reports also so there is less filtering etc.
3 votesThanks for sharing your idea about showing negatives in red and brackets throughout the whole of Xero.

Homepage - Compact table-view widget for bank accounts
Please add a widget on the homepage that displays the bank accounts in a simple table format, including the account name, balance, and transactions that need reconciliation.
Overall, the new layout takes up too much space, making it difficult to fit essential information on a screen.
A more compact view without unnecessary elements would be appreciated.
And also the optin to disable popup adverts!
4 votesHi Francesco, we really appreciate you sharing how a compact table view could help you access banking information more efficiently.
We can see why this would be helpful for businesses managing multiple accounts. The current widget layout can take up a lot of space, and a condensed list would give you all-in-one visibility, letting you see balances at a glance.
For now, you can use the Edit dashboard button to hide accounts you don’t check daily, or use the Bank Accounts screen (under Accounting) as a more condensed “second dashboard.”
We’ve updated this idea to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for votes and comments. Your input helps us understand how compact a new view would need to be!

Homepage - Adaptive layout & zoom to fit for monitors with different aspect ratios
VISUAL: Adaptive layout & zoom to fit?
I use my widescreen monitor to use two windows side-by-side, but then the Xero window has a lot of negative space around the tabs (see image) and the only way I can find to make this larger is to zoom in the browser, but that makes all the browser items zoomed, which I don't want. If I enlarge the Xero tab, the layout adjusts to a sweet spot, but that also doesn't fit nicely on full screen, and I end up clicking between things more than is efficient, so it should ideally sit…

Bank Account Font - Balance Difference and Reconciled
The font is too fine and hard to read. The font size of 'balance difference', 'reconciled' etc is a bit too small

Homepage - Add and remove columns to widgets
So I can filter and view the information how I want to see it rather than using reports.
1 voteHi everyone, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that the information people want to see in homepage widgets varies a lot. For some, the invoice reference is key; for others it’s the due date or the contact. Being able to choose which columns appear would make these widgets far more useful for quick daily checks.
Right now, if the detail you need isn’t shown in the widget, you have to leave the homepage and open the full Invoices or Bills list, or run a relevant report just to confirm. That takes away from the idea of the homepage being a true at-a-glance view.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can understand demand for more flexible homepage widgets. If there’s a specific column you rely on every day, call it out in the comments — that will be useful to us.

Homepage - Condensed/compact view with less white space
There's a lot of white space on the page. Can things be condensed more please?
7 votesReally good to get this sort of detail about aspects of the homepage that you feel could be condensed or removed to help with your experience of the homepage. We're continuing to get an understanding of community interest around this and hear any further detail of where within the page you feel space is unnecessary. Thanks

Dashboard - More Flexibility in Widget Placement
It would be great to be able to place the widgets wherever you want (like before). I would prefer to have all my bank accounts in a column, as opposed to having to have them horizontal
13 votesHi everyone, it's easy to see why you’d want more flexibility on the dashboard. When you log in, you want the most important info right there—without having to scroll past everything else.
For now, Edit dashboard lets you reorder widgets and hide the ones you don’t use often.
However, we understand that greater layout flexibility could take dashboard customisation to another level, making it feel genuinely personalised to how you prefer to work.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support to see how many others are looking for more control over dashboard layout.
