XPM: Practice - Timesheets: Enter Timesheet: Improved date defaulting and navigation when editing entries
When entering a Timesheet, the date keeps defaulting to the first day of the week (Monday) in the timesheet. Even when manually changing the date, at times if the window is left idle for too long it defaults back to the Monday again causing problems with times for each day if you don't notice it has changed. Then when you identify the entry that is incorrect if you drill into it from the timesheet to correct it, it doesn't return you back to the Enter Timesheet window, it returns you to the Job. This is not very efficient and is…
4 votesHi Lisa, thanks for raising this. It’s clear that these friction points in the timesheet entry process are leading to extra steps that slow things down.
We hear you that things like the date resetting to Monday can disrupt your efficiency.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product team how improving these defaults and navigation could make time entry smoother and more efficient.

Tax Manager - Display assigned staff name on tax lists
staff name under tax manager who is working on particulare task
1 voteThanks for highlighting this improvement. We understand how having the staff member assigned to each tax task visible in the list could make workload tracking and task follow-up more straightforward.
I’ve updated the status to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this would be useful for your practice, add your vote and share your preferred way of displaying staff assignments.

Tax Manager - Include prior year returns in Ready To Start
Prior year returns from ATO list that are not lodged need to be in the ready to start list.
8 votesHi Natalie, appreciate your idea about including prior year returns in the Ready to Start list. We can see how this could make workflows in Tax Manager a bit more straightforward.
We’ve moved this to Gaining Support, so it’s now open for the community to vote and comment. Hearing how others might use this helps us understand the broader need.
Our Product team is interested in more ideas for Tax Manager, so if you or others have thoughts on ways to improve it, feel free to share them. Thanks for getting the conversation going.

Recent Organisations - ability to view recent orgs and search has gone in XPM
The beta has "Recent Organisations" in the dropdown under the practice name, but nothing is coming up and there is no ability to search.
Please can we have this reinstated - I don't want to have to go to the clients screen or Xero HQ to get to a client's Xero file every time I open up XPM
4 votesThanks for letting us know this feedback here, Nickie. I've made sure to share this back with our product team and will let you know as soon as I hear any updates. Thanks again 🙂

XPM - Increase spacing or relocate the "Discard" button in Timesheets to prevent accidental clicks
When you save a timesheet entry as draft, then next option of discard or save is very close together so if you don't move your cursor to the right to click on save you may inadvertently discard the timesheet entry. I think the discard option needs to be moved somewhere else.
5 votesHi everyone — thanks for flagging this! It’s clear the “Discard” button’s current spot is causing a few accidental clicks, especially after you’ve just entered your time. Losing your work like that is frustrating, and we get how it turns a quick task into extra effort.
I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can see how many of you are affected. Your votes and comments help the team understand the impact, so please keep sharing — the more feedback, the easier it is to make the layout safer and smoother.

XPH Homepage | NZ Tax - IRD's Live Filing Statistics as a Widget
With the XPM link to MyIR START, is it possible to have IRD's live filing statistics for the agency as a widget.
8 votesHi team, we appreciate your engagement on this idea.
We’re just circling back to share a quick update as it’s been a little while. We’ve checked in with our product teams, and this isn’t data that IRD currently provides access to. Because of that, it’s not something we’re able to support right now.
If this changes in the future, it may be something we can revisit, but we want to set the right expectation here for now. Thanks.

Partner Hub - Ability to re-order the Quick Actions menu
Quick actions are great but I would like to be able to re-order these to have the most used at the top etc
4 votesHi Stacey, we can see how much time being able to customise the Quick Action menu would save, especially when managing a large portfolio of clients.
This idea has been moved to Gaining Support so our product teams can understand the interest in this feature. We’d love to hear what other actions or pages would you like to be able to pin to your Quick Action menu? Your input helps the community and shows the value of this idea.

Use of Timer for Timesheet Entry
The Timer doesn't allow you to scroll to the bottom to see the next time entry unless you are on the home page.
9 votesThanks for sharing your feedback on the new Partner Hub timer experience. This is essential for the Product team to glean what is working and what is not. We have moved this to Gaining Support so others can comment and vote on this idea and if there are any updates we will mention them here.

AU Tax - All Tab for All Returns
Have an "All" Tab that is actually all of the returns. So when searching you're not having to search within In Progress tab and then again within Filed Tab to check on what searching for.
An ALL tab that is all of the returns (including filtering option of type/period)
1 voteThanks for sharing this idea wiht us , we appreciate the time taken to do so. We can see how an All Returns view could make it easier to work across In Progress and Filed returns without switching between tabs. This idea is now open for community support, so others can vote and add comments with their use cases. We’ll keep an eye on the feedback and engagement to help us understand the broader need.

XPH - Enter timesheet without selecting a job
Allow staff to enter timesheet without a Job
3 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this suggestion. It’s clear that not all work during the day is tied to a specific client job, and having to assign a job to every timesheet entry can feel limiting.
We hear you that being able to log time without linking it to a job would make it easier to capture internal work, training, and general admin tasks that don’t sit under a project.
This is now in Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product team how more flexible time entry could better reflect day-to-day work.

Clients | Jobs - Ability to search
Please add "Search Function" under the client Jobs - same as in the job manager in order to search for specific "current" and "archived" jobs, the sort function is not sufficient.
6 votesThanks for sharing your idea, Louis.
Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!
We'll start getting a sense of the interest here and share if there are any updates.

XPH - Actionable WIP widget with integrated invoicing button
Widget that shows the WIP and allows you to Invoice from the WIP Module.
4 votesThanks for taking the time to raise this idea. It sounds like moving between the dashboard and the Invoices area to act on Work in Progress (WIP) can add a few extra steps when you’re ready to bill. Having a single widget that not only shows outstanding WIP but also lets you raise an invoice directly would help make the handover from work completed to billing more seamless.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand how a more actionable WIP widget could streamline invoicing workflows across practices.

AU Tax - Lodgement widget due dates matches ATO
Lodgements Widget - match ATO due date from the client screen rather than in tax return - OR auto update unlodged tax returns when sync from ATO is done.
Ours is now all out of whack now that we have applied for lodgement extensions. The due date is correct on the client screen, but it doesn't automatically update unlodged tax returns so the widget is now giving incorrect information about our lodgement stats. ATO has correct figures.
2 votesHi Fleur, thanks for raising this idea. We understand why having lodgement widget due dates align with ATO statutory deadlines could be useful when managing multiple client obligations.
The idea is to update the Lodgement widget so the due dates used match the official ATO deadlines, helping practices track upcoming lodgements with greater confidence.
We encourage the community to vote on this idea if you’d find this compliance workflow improvement useful.

XPH - Declutter header by separating Help/Notifications from other action buttons
The help and notifications buttons should be in a separate section. It is more user friendly to have just the search, timesheet and JAX buttons in the top right of the screen.
3 votesHi everyone, thanks for the suggestion. We get that as more tools are added to the practice header, things can start to feel a bit crowded.
Separating Help and Notifications from your main action buttons could create a cleaner layout and make it easier to focus on the tools you use most often.
I’ve moved this to Gaining Support so we can track interest and share with our product team how this could improve clarity and everyday usability in Xero Partner Hub.

AU Tax returns - Notes: Add and Display Notes before history
In a tax return we have the option to Add notes. When we add them, we can't see them without clicking into them. I use Notes to say if a return is manually signed.
My suggestions are:
1. Logically the option to Add Note should be immediately above the History listing (ie on the line where the View Notes toggle is) so users don't have to hunt around for it.
2. The Note details (ie the text of the Note) should be visible in the listing, not behind another link.1 voteThanks for sharing this idea. We understand the request to display user notes above the system history in tax returns. Having key notes more prominently positioned could make it easier for reviewers to find important context without scrolling through the full history.
We've updated the status of this idea to Gaining Support so we can continue tracking community interest. If this could improve your workflow, add your vote and let us know how you'd like the notes to be displayed.

XPH – Add Client Activity Toolbar
Please reinstate the summary toolbar or menu at the top of client pages. It previously acted as an effective dashboard for client activity and allowed us to see what was happening at a glance.
In XPH, key items (for example, active tax returns) no longer clearly show status or progress, which forces users to click through multiple screens just to understand what is going on.
Overall, XPH feels clunky and significantly more admin intensive. It feels like a system that previously worked has been pulled apart by developers with little regard for how accounting practices actually operate or for the…
5 votesHi Rochelle, thanks for bringing this up. When you’re working across a large client list, having a clearer signal of what’s changing can make a big difference. A Client Activity Toolbar could give practices a quicker sense of where things are moving and where a nudge might be needed.
Rather than jumping in and out of individual part of XPH, this kind of view could help you prioritise what to focus on.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support to see how much wider interest there is.

XPH | Homepage - Change spelling of Lodgements Widget
The new Lodgements widget has the word 'Lodgements' spelled as 'Lodgments'. Please fix.
5 votesAppreciate the feedback, Ben. We'd like to track the interest in this spelling through your idea here. Both ways of spelling this are correct and 'lodgments' currently aligns with how ATO's spelling of this.

XPH | Home Page open in a new tab when working on a tax return
Previously in XPM, if you were in a client's tax return, you could select the XPM option from the dropdown menu under your practice name and it would open a brand new tab and take you back to the Dashboard.
Currently, the new partner tab no longer has this feature (for obvious reasons), and when you click Home, rather than opening a new tab, it takes you away from the tax return returning you to what used to be the Dashboard page (now the Home page).
It's minor I know, but it's been a pain point most of today for…3 votesHi Karen, thanks for sharing this suggestion. It’s clear that having the Home Page open in a new tab while working on a tax return would make it easier to quickly check the dashboard without interrupting your flow. Being able to keep your place in a return while referencing other information sounds like a helpful way to stay efficient.
As mentioned in the thread, you can currently right click the Home link and select “Open in new tab” as a workaround. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and help our product teams understand the value of making this behaviour more seamless during tax prep.

Partner Hub - Add Gatekeeper functionality to the HUB
It would be great to add the Gatekeeper functionality to the Xero Hub
2 votesHi Bruce, thanks for sharing with us here.
As a first step, we'll be releasing a brand new refreshed look for Gatekeeper to better align with Xero Partner Hub - this is coming soon.
We're also exploring embedding Gatekeeper functionality within Xero Partner Hub, however we don't have timelines to share on this yet. I'll come back to share when there's more progress 🙂

XPM - Suggestion for improvement: Simplify GST registration removal workflow
In the old XPM when removing a client’s GST registration you could delete the GST registration with one tick and save. In the new XPM when you untick ‘include GST information’, the GST information greys out and it lets you save but this does not remove the GST registration information. You have to clear the other fields first, then untick ‘include GST information’ and save. Why can’t you just untick ‘include GST information’ and it be removed from view on the client information screen? Or at least be given a warning that the change you’ve made isn’t correct when you…
6 votesHi there!
Thanks for sharing this detailed feedback about the GST workflow in XPM.
I can certainly see how the extra steps of clearing fields manually feel like a step backward from the previous experience, especially when you're managing multiple client updates.
Currently, the new XPM interface requires those fields to be emptied before the section can be fully "deactivated" from the client summary. If you find the information is still showing after you've unticked the box, it’s usually because those greyed-out fields still contain data that Xero is trying to preserve.
I’ve moved your post into Gaining Support under the title: XPM - Suggestion for improvement: Simplify GST registration removal workflow
By moving this here, other XPM users can vote on the idea, which helps our product teams prioritize making this workflow more intuitive—like adding a warning or an auto-clear function when the box is unticked.
