  1. Be able to remove the csv file option when viewing invoices online. I have a template set up which gives a detailed description but only a total price as I do not want customers to see the individual prices. However if they view online and download the CSV they can see this detail. It only seems to happen when emailed to Gmail accounts as we don't include the invoice link in the email. I now have to put in 0's for each line item and manually enter the total amount.

  2. The split screen when sending an invoice makes everything cluttered. I already approved the invoice, I dont need to see it as I add an Email address

    Sorry to hear you don't like this feature, Richard. We've heard from others that this helps them get a better picture of what their invoices will look like when sending to a customer and enables them to make changes on the fly without having to preview or send a copy to themselves first.

    Appreciate it might not be everyone's cup of tea and while we don't have any plans for removing this atm, we'll get a sense of the interest through the idea here.

  3. When emailing a sales invoice which has a credit note applied, the basic email template text should quote the amount owed MINUS the amount of the credit note. The email is incorrect with regard to the amount owed, and customers often erroneously overpay.

  4. The new invoicing doesn`t transfer the "Reference" field information to the email area and I have to retype this every time. The previous version just transferred it all. Now this means more work, having to input the reference three times in the process
    Also there is no confirmation anywhere that the files I attach are being sent. If you PREVIEW it does not show the files anywhere ?

  5. It would be great if the awaiting payment area would allow more invoices to be shown, currently it only allows up to 200. Or if it had the ability to save the invoices you've selected for payment and you could go to the next page without loosing the invoices you had already preselected.

    Hi Sarah, there is a limit of including 50 invoices in a single batch deposit atm. Is there any commonality between invoices that you pay that could possibly be searched and bring them into the one page?

  6. When pasting content from a Word document that has bullet points and other basic formatting, this formatting is lost and you end up with one large block of unformatted text.

    All our invoices have terms and conditions pasted in depending on the application of our products. We have to switch to Classic Invoicing where the formatting functionality still works, before sending the email to the customer, .

    Please resolve this urgently before phasing out Classic Invoicing.

    An example image is attached with a short portion of our terms and conditions to show the non-existent formatting.

  8. New Invoicing - Description Box Defined

    It would be great if the new invoice description field had a defined box around it like the rest of the row does. The old invoice does and it looks cleaner. I find myself second guessing if those descriptions are in the correct place because it looks like they all run together.

    Thanks for confirming, Nicki. I can confirm I've shared this back with the team. We are looking at further improvements to the invoicing grid, so I'll let you know here if  there's any news for this.

  9. When a credit note is approved, the next page that pops up is the Allocate Credit Balance screen. This screen does not state who the customer/supplier is, and when creating multiple credits, it can be hard to recall who each one is to. It would be great to have the Allocate Credit Balance screen displaying the contact of the credit (the reference would also be great, but I have already voted for that one separately).

    With the new invoicing re-vamp this would be a great opportunity to increase the information on the Allocate Credit Balance screen too.

  10. Due to the fact that "Updated inventory selling price is reflected when the next repeated invoice is generated." (Please vote for this idea too) has not been implemented. You need to manually go into every repeating invoice and reselect the (same) inventory item for the price to update to the current inventory price. I think it is a bug, but support tell me it is the designed way. The existing QTY gets reset to 1. This is super annoying as you need to remember was the existing QTY was and then update it again and not make mistakes. If you…

  12. The Pay Now option is not visible on the online page of an invoice when the currency of the invoice does not match the organisation's default currency. This is especially annoying when Payment Services such as Stripe are set-up as they can easily process multiple currencies.

    Moreover, as it is not (or poorly) documented that Payment Services are not usable when using a foreign currency, it just seems to be a bug. I contacted support who responded with the following:

  13. There are so many disadvantages to the new invoicing. All my points have been covered in previous ideas so have voted for them. This note is to add my frustrations to everyone else's on this supposed "faster" way to invoice.

    I have even had a customer say the GST was wrong and had to revert to the classic invoicing to fix then return to the new version.

    This whole new version is not my favourite and I will be recommended to my clients to consider other software if these Xero "improvements" continue to disappoint. There are other improvements that disappoint…

    We will move the thread here itself to not planned, however we will continue to iterate new invoicing to keep improving the experience for all our customers. 

  14. It would be great to see an option of being able to highlight in red or yellow a particular line on your sales invoice for the client to specifically take note of, because at the moment when I add a note for clients to see I write it in capitals but it still gets ignored. Whereas if it was highlighted they may take more notice of it.

  15. Including the AUTO lookup feature for sales tax in the Mobile App would make the product usability much better in states such as Colorado. To create invoices at "pop-up" events in various tax jurisdictions is crucial so you don't have to remember to continuously load new rates for complex destination /home-room rule situations. The "usability" of the app would be increased rather than being tethered to a computer to manage.

  17. Right now it's not possible to run the statements for a contact having different currencies. The statements will show the outstanding amount owed according to the default financial setting currency of the contact. It would be nice if we invoice a customer in different currencies to be able to produce one statement showing the balance even if it convert the other currencies to the default currency. Or produce different statements selecting the different currencies each time without having to go change the default currency in the contact each time.

  18. Ability to block Quotes being raised/sent if a customer has reached its credit limit. Another tick box like the one for Invoices except this is for Quotes.
