  1. Under the employees deductions sections during payroll, if one has salary sacrifice, child support, and any other deductions, you have to process the pay run initially. And then you would have to manually do a separate payment to a payee

Is it possible to have a payee that can be linked to the payroll deductions. Meaning when you run your payroll, the deductions will go against the payee and when the payroll aba file is created, the payee will be included in that aba file

Alternatively create a deduction for payroll that can be linked to a bank account. Currently…

Hi team. We can see it's been a while since we've provided you with an update about this idea. We've reviewed and it looks like it's an idea that's steadily Gaining Support.

  2. P60's should be able to be emailed direct from Xero with password protection, exactly like the payslips

  3. Enable full data import from external data source (say CSV) for all emplolyee data not just basic data. That would allow organisations with more staff to easily migrate to XERO without having to manually re-enter significant volumes of data.

Hey team, we appreciate wanting to upload more employee details when setting them up. While we have recently released an updated process to bulk uploading employees, we want to be upfront that this only allows the bulk upload of basic fields such as names, dates of birth and addresses.

This may be something we consider longer term and we would like to continue to track interest through the idea here.

If there are any plans made we'll share an update with you all on this idea. Thanks

  4. We would like to suggest an enhancement to the Xero payroll software that could significantly improve its functionality for our company.

Currently, Xero offers download options for various pension providers, but we've noticed that True Potential is not among them.

We propose the addition of a CSV download option specifically for the True Potential pension provider.

Given that Xero already possesses the necessary data, incorporating this feature would eliminate the need for manual data entry and formatting, reducing the risk of errors and saving valuable time.

    Benefits of this enhancement:

Accuracy: Automated data transfer minimizes the potential for mistakes during…

  5. 2 TOIL options, TOIL accrued & TOIL Accrued in place of Overtime

We are unable to mark a Time in Lieu Leave pay item as exempt from accruing SGC, which is not how the ATO classifies SGC for TOIL.

We suggest having 2 TOIL categories, so that there is the option for a TOIL where SGC is required to be paid and one wit SGC exempt:- when super is accrued on overtime.

  6. To allow the payroll team to run reports to runs checks on the payroll before submitting the payroll. This would avoid sending numerous automatic FPS reports to HMRC.

Hi everyone, thanks for sharing your feedback. We appreciate you explaining how important access to reports on draft pay runs is for your workflows, especially for client approvals and pre-submission checks.

Our product team is currently looking into payroll reporting improvements as part of a wider review, however adding additional reports to draft pay runs is not something that’s on their foreseeable roadmap.

Currently you can download payslips, P32 and Payroll Activity Details/Summary reports from draft pay runs. These provide a breakdown of employee earnings and employer liabilities, which can be used for pre-checks before submitting your pay run to HMRC.

Please continue to support other ideas, as this helps our product teams know what's important to you.

  7. Ability to import the number of days of annual leave/other leave taken per employee for the month. It is very time consuming to manually add the leave taken for each employee when completing the payroll each month.

Hey everyone! It's been insightful reading through your comments on filtering payroll reports by both first and last name.

Our product team have reviewed this idea and agree it's an idea they would like to develop, but it isn't currently on the roadmap.

In the meantime, as mentioned by some of you you'll need to export the data to work with outside of Xero. We understand this may be an extra step and appreciate this feature could improve efficiency for a variety of situations.

We'll keep you updated as things progress. Your continued input helps us understand the priority and impact of features like this one.

  9. To be able to enter and start and finish times on the time sheets on Xero me and login for staff, save miscaluculation on hours.

Hey team, we’re grateful for all of the engagement this idea has received. We understand that adding start and end times to timesheets would greatly improve payroll accuracy and record-keeping.

As noted by many of you, this feature is available in the AU version of Payroll, but there is no direct workaround for this in UK Payroll.

I'm pleased to let you know we're moving this idea to In discovery, which means our product team is reviewing the viability of this feature. This is an important step as we explore what it would take to bring this functionality to UK Payroll.

We'll keep you updated on any developments.

Hi everyone, thank you for your feedback on NI savings in pension calculations. We appreciate you sharing how you’re currently managing these contributions when processing salary sacrifice schemes.

We understand many of you are using spreadsheets and manual workarounds to add these additional employer contributions to the payslip.

Our product team has reviewed this request and moved it to Accepted so that it can be considered in future planning cycles. Although it isn't currently on the immediate roadmap, we'll keep you updated as things progress.

  11. Add in ability to forward date when a superannuation payment is processed. I would like to submit the authority when I review the monthly super but have the payment not made until it is actually due, which would be a date in the future that I enter.

We appreciate you raised this a little while ago, thank you for your patience whilst we review. Whilst this isn't currently on our product team's road map, they've reviewed your comments and can see the value scheduling superannuation payments would bring. With this in mind, we've moved the status of this idea to Accepted and will keep you updated as we go.

  12. I think it would be a good idea to facilitate the location of payroll reports. Please could you create a link to payroll journals within the payroll "journal reports".
Secondly, it would very useful to be able to amend a payroll journal report, if needed.

  14. Leavers can only access payslips 14 days after leave date. 14 days is not enough time as the final pay ay not have been processed at this time. So final payslips then becomes a manual process. If P45's could also be accessed that would be great.

Thanks for sharing your idea, we understand sometimes employees need access to payslips beyond 14 days after their leaving date.

We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it. Make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Along with votes, other members can now comment to share additional detail about how your idea could improve their experience with Xero.

  15. This would be particularly helpful for employees who take excessive leave, instead of having to go in to the employee's Leave tab to view, or print screening to provide a report for reviewing.

  17. When adding a new employee record, allow me to 'create new superannuation' during the process of creating their new record. Currently when adding a new employee record, I need to navigate away from the employee record to 'Settings > Payroll Settings > Superannuation' to add a new superannuation relationship. On the new employee record, when the pop up appears for superannuation, if you could add a spot to say 'Create New relationship' or something under the employee record - I'll buy you a beer.

  18. The witholding variation should be on top of the existing PAYG calculation not overrides it, as it currently does. If an employee completes a MyGov employee Tax Form and notes they want an additional % amount variation withheld - it should be on top of their existing PAYG tax, not instead of it. There is no other option to put in a percentage amount in XERO.

Or allow the upward variation amount to be a percentage amount - not just a fixed amount.

The screenshot attached shows this employee should be paying tax on the full amount (no threshold claimed)…

Hi everyone, thanks for your feedback on this. We appreciate you sharing how important it is to be able to add an additional percentage on top of PAYG.

As you’re aware, you can increase the amount of tax withheld each pay, however the figure must be a fixed amount.

We understand some of you have been using workarounds like manual calculations or withholding variations, which create challenges if employees earnings are not fixed.

While this feature isn't currently on our roadmap, we've updated this idea to Accepted, so that it’s up for formal consideration.

We're grateful for your continued input as it helps us understand what matters.

  19. It would help employees to understand their payslips if we could choose the order that pay elements appear on the payslips

  20. From the moment you post a payrun, and this can be 1 day or 10 days before payment is made, employees have access to their payslips. To pull an ABA from the payrun, you need to post the payrun first. I process payroll for over 30 business's. Part of that process, as I am sure it is for any agent or employee bookkeeper, you generally need to get an approval (even the filing for STP makes you verify that an authorised person has checked it). This approval is an email to the client with the payroll information (including ABA file)…
