  1. The new tabs are nominated as Purchases and Sales but some of their sub tabs go beyond that. I would prefer to label them Payments and Receipts

    In relation to XERO security, I suggest all users should have a password expiry functionality where after a period (eg 6 months) it prompts all users to change their password.

    Hi Simon, thanks so much for taking the time to share this great idea about improving login security.

    We've had a look, and your suggestion to add a password expiry feature is now open for the community to vote and comment on.

    We're keen to see what others think! They can now add their votes and share how this would help them manage their own business's security policies in Xero.

  3. When I am logged-in to Xero as a user with "Invoice only" and "only create drafts" permissions, it is my understanding that this user should not be able to create new invoice items or see menu options for creating new items. However, it appears this user can see this menu option when adding a line item to an invoice and attempt to create a new item, leading to an ambiguous error message.

  4. add specific tiles to xero Dashboard from Business Snapshot.

    I would like on my dashboard 3 main tiles
    1. Revenue by month, 3 mths 6 and 12 months shown as options
    2. Expenses the same
    3. Financial Position this year by Rev, Expenses & Profit.
    Is this doeable???

  5. Hi, It would be great to see customers who exceeded their credit limits on the dashboard. We push sales invoices from third-party app therefore we don't see alerts if someone has no credit limit left. If we could see a list on the dashboard we could act immediately. Thanks

  6. Given there is an option to 'Export Accounting Data' in 'General Ledger format', why is there no corresponding facility to Import in 'General Ledger Format '? I have a client with many problem transactions locked by accountants. The solution is to start again with a copy of the accounts, which involves splitting the exported data into several different import templates.

    Appreciate wanting to make the process of setting up a new Xero org, especially in the scenario you've mentioned as simple as possible, Kevan.

    While this may be something we look at longer term I want to be open that we don't have any plans for a single import across all areas of Xero right now.

    There are third party app partners available through our Xero app store that you may like to engage if you'd like help in this migration and set up process.

    We'll keep getting a sense of community interest from your idea here and share if there are any updates planned.

  7. We have bureau licences with read only access for clients - however when the bank feed drops they are unable to refresh without upgrading. As they have no other involvement it does not make sense for them to have upgraded access - can we allow them to do this on a slightly improved access level please?

  9. Please can a QTD column be added on the Accounts Watchlist rather than This Month? A quarterly client is requesting this as they view the Dashboard regularly and this would be extremely useful to them.

  10. Right now it’s not possible to have users automatically assigned to tracking categories.

    We are investigating the tracking scenario, but it looks like additional work having to go into making sure each user remembers to add the relevant codes/tracking categories each time they raise a new quote/invoice/PO.

    Is there a way to set this up so that Xero can automatically identify that a user belongs to a particular department (e.g. Sales / Accounts ) and the relevant tracking codes will be applied? Similar to how when we set up a new contact on Xero with particular defaults (re. currency or…

  11. Ability to completely remove from the My Xero homepage cancelled Xero organisations. Currently, you can list no fewer than 10 items per page, so if you have say 4 active organisations and 6 cancelled organisations, you are 'forced' to look at the list of cancelled organisations every time you log in, even if the entities have long been deregistered and there is no chance that you will resubscribe to them.

  12. Can we have one more category of user role in Xero (A user role with Ability for only to create all possible drafts + View reports)?

    This kind of user role can help to minimise recording errors when any transaction (Quotation, Invoice, Bill, expenses, transfer, receive and spend money) can have two steps approval. It can provide more verification flexibility /security for the business which managed by more than one person as well.

    View reports can help the initiator to check the effect of the transaction after approval.

  14. Currently our monthly bank revaluation FX diff is being automatically coded by Xero to be split between tracking categories rather than simply being "unassigned". However, for our purposes, once USD are banked, they no longer "belong" to that tracking category and instead are general company funds. It is impossible to tell Xero to stop coding revaluation amounts to tracking categories but this doesn't make sense for the accounts, especially when a tracking category finished within the business months ago.     Hi Imogen, thanks for sharing your thoughts on multicurrency bank revaluations. We understand how having FX differences automatically assigned to tracking categories doesn’t always fit your workflow.

    This idea has been moved to Gaining support, so the community can vote and share their experiences. Adding a bit more about why this change would help in your workflow can help others see the value and give the product team context.

  15. In search since I've used Xero, when searching for an Invoice Number - results would appear and a coloured box with the status - red for Awaiting Payment, and green for Paid. A handy visual meaning I didn't have to actually read the status.
    Now in the new Search - these colours have disappeared. Why? I now have to scan up and down and actually read what it says without my visual guide.   16. In the general search field at the top right, it would be very helpful if the search also work with a space or a few spaces at the beginning. Because if I copy an invoice number in the field I always have to delete the spaces first before the search works - it's annoying.

  17. As part of our QA, we review the list of users to check that it is up to date, eg, remove terminated employees, remove auditors at the completion of the audit or revert to Read Only, etc.

    It would be great to be able to filter/sort the view by access type, such as looking only at Payroll Employees, or filtering them out.

  19. Greetings, is it possible to add a "Make a Deposit" option to the + Menu in the task bar? We've studied the batch deposit procedure, and it seems cumbersome. It would be helpful to have a simple process to click Make a Deposit from the main options, have the Undeposited Funds account appear, select items from the Undeposited Funds account, choose which account to transfer funds to, and save the deposit with the option to print a deposit slip and summary. If you already have this process in place, I would like to learn it, please. Thank you.

  20. It would be great if the Contact Name placeholders could populate the name of the individual person receiving the email rather than just the primary person for a contact.

    ex. I have a contact name for a child with the primary person being Parent 1 and additional person being Parent 2. Would love if the Contact Name placeholders could address the email to each Parent 1 and Parent 2 independently instead of just addressing Parent 1 in both emails.
