Users & Setup - Automatically redirect to the previous page after a session timeout and re-login
At the moment if not all tasks have been completed in a work day, opening up the browser window again from where you left off will log you out. When you log in again, you are diverted to the homepage with no way of clicking back to go back to the page you were on. This is a massive waste of time, please allow us to restore our tabs which had things like custom reports and other things we started working on.
2 votesHi everyone, we understand that being sent back to the homepage after a session timeout can interrupt your workflow, especially when you’re in the middle of a specific report or transaction. It can be a bit inconvenient to lose your place and have to navigate back, and we completely get how that affects your productivity.
Some community members have mentioned ways to work around this, like keeping an eye on the session timeout or using browser bookmarks for deep links. At the same time, we agree that a smoother experience that automatically returns you to your last page would be really helpful.
We’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so we can track interest and show our product teams how this “return to page” functionality could save you time and make your workflow easier.

Homepage | Invoice and Bills widgets - Option to make smaller
Make invoices to pay & bills boxes smaller these are the two functions I use most & now have to scroll down every time i want to use them

Xero Product Ideas - Notifications - enable/disable per post
Currently Product Idea notifications are either enabled or disabled.
Which means I get a ridiculous amount of emails for every single product idea I've ever commented or voted on. And given Xero's inability to actually resolve any of these issues, the number of notifications is going up and up.
Currently, because of the amount of complaints about the new homepage my inbox is full every morning.
I don't want any more notifications reminding me how bad the new home page is. However, I do want notifications on a lot of the other 'Product Ideas' that I am following.

Homepage – Show Chart of Accounts Quarterly Budget on the Widget
Like many business' we operate more on qrtly budgets than monthly due to month to month volatility.

Homepage - Add shortcut to create repeating invoice
Shortcut to add recurring invoice via a simple UX - just add a drop down next to the 'New invoice' button. Similar to what you already have in the Sales overview page.
2 votesHi everyone, thanks for sharing this idea! We can see how having a “Create Repeating Invoice” shortcut right on the dashboard would make managing recurring invoicing faster and more seamless.
Currently, you navigate through the Invoices menu to reach the Repeating tab, which adds extra steps. I’ve moved this idea to Gaining Support so our product teams can track interest and understand how much this shortcut could help streamline regular invoicing.

XPM - Allow bookkeepers to sign up without TPB registeration
The current signup process, while being advertised for bookkeepers actually requires a registration with the TPB as a tax or BAS agent, however pure bookkeepers categorising transactions and doing account reconciliations have no need to lodge BAS' and hence no reason to obtain a BAS agent number.
This oversight prohibits bookkeepers from signing up to the partner program and growing the platform.
A simple "do you intend to make lodgements for your clients - yes/no" button before the "BAS agent number" input field would suffice.
2 votesAppreciate you sharing the idea here Hamish. bookkeepers can’t sign up for the Xero partner programme without BAS/TPB registration at the moment. We understand this may not be useful for people who do not want to register for Tax. We'll open this idea up to the community so we can gain some support on it. In the meantime,make sure you share your idea with any colleagues that this could benefit so they can add their vote too!

Onboarding - Add Xero to the list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business"
When creating a new organisation, there isn't an option to choose Xero from the dropdown list of "What tool are you currently using to run your business". I'm migrating from one org to another because of limitations in your PAYE scheme functionality. Right now, a user can't select Xero from the list, which may help you shed light on users who are either running into org challenges or who are power users of your tools.

Navigation - Move up practice tools section on main menu
Navigation - Main Menu
Personally, I access practice tools and hubdoc / syft several times daily, I'd prefer not thave to scroll down to get to these. Settings and Subscription / Billing are access much less frequently and coud me lower in the menu.
Also the Xero Menu and Home Menu seem to do exactly the same thing? Could the main drop down menu therefore be moved over to the LHS where it was previously.2 votesThanks for your feedback, Tina. Dashboard - Show current exchange rates on dashboard
It would be useful to be able to see today's exchange rates on the dashboard - I use information on the dashboard to prepare a weekly report and it's annoying to have to go to another screen to display exchange rates which also form part of my Excel report.

We've reviewed your idea to be able to see today's exchange rates directly on the dashboard. We can see how having this information readily available would streamline your weekly reporting process.

JAX - Ability to move icon
Move "jax" and the new "Apps" icons into the Company Drop Down on the right hand side so they don't clutter our tool bar and you can go in there and chose to activate them or not.
Give us some choice please - I'm not loving having the search icon so far over now, as it has to make space for these 2, which I will not be using.

I did sign up for the Beta of jax and the first answer was wrong...2 votesHi Rachel, to give another update here we are continuing to keep a close eye on JAX related idea sin the forums here, however at this time we still don't have any plans to change the positioning of the change icon in the navigation.
Make sure to share this idea if you have colleagues that would like to see this change too, for now we'll continue to get a sense of support in this here.

Export audit (IAF) files
Our bookkeeper needs an audit file (IAF) to make our annual report. Currently downloading an IAF file is only possible for Singapore clients and not for Xero Global clients. Would be very useful if this would be available for everybody.

Notifications - Make audible alerts optional
Please make audible alerts to "messages", tips, etc optional.
I wear earphones and work across multiple devices and it is quite irritating to hear "bloop" when working across multiple tabs.We don't need more vapid sounds in our lives!

'private' contacts for certain user accounts
Ability to set contacts as Private. The ability to restrict access to certain contacts accounts would be a useful facility for many reasons but a key setting would be to allow contacts who are employees to have their payroll payments kept private from users who were not Payroll authorised.

user permissions
ability to allow some users access to connected apps but NOT bank accounts. Currently you can't have one without the other. We currently have a user who should not be seeing the bank accounts or have the ability to reconcile and make changes etc but needs access to connected apps which puts our not-for-profit organization in a vulnerable situation.

App improvements needed
Please add invoice date filtering and daily sales totals to the Xero mobile app (Android and iOS)
As a business owner who uses Xero, I'm genuinely surprised at how limited the mobile app is when it comes to viewing and managing invoices.
One of the most basic things I want to do is open the app and see all invoices raised today and their total value. Unfortunately, there doesn't appear to be any way of doing this.
The app displays how many invoices are unpaid or overdue, but doesn't provide a simple way to view invoices by date or see…

email notification sent when a new employee/supplier is set up
Clients like the email alert on bank account changes and have had a client suggest that something similar be setup for a new employee/supplier added - specifically when the bank details are added. Let the client see this from the start. Very common method of fraud is fake suppliers or fake employees, so having an email notification to the relevant person on setup can stop something being snuck in by someone.

Consolidated reports accross mutilple entities
We need the ability to create consolidated reports for mutliple Xero files. MYOB does this well. many group operate with multiple entities, it is so important for accountants to be able to consolidate the group position without resorting to excel exports...

Allow Chatgpt cloud browser to login to my Xero account. So the AI agent can work on the task like quotation, invoice and bill data entry while my computer is off.
It save a lot of human error and take away data entry workload from small business owner like me.
