  1. This seems like an absolute no-brainer.

    When looking for an invoice or payment, I often copy the amount from a remittance or similar, and it is a frustrating waste of time to have to manually remove the comma.

    This should be easy to implement, and would make the user experience smoother seamlessly.

Hi Kelly, concerning projects, I have a thought or idea in seeing HOT Projects or URGENT or PRIORITY Projects in the Projects drop down just like the drop down on the Reporting button that you have Favorite Reports when you create custom reports or when you favorite some of the standard ones.   3. Products & Services - great we now are able to give users access to view/edit etc but can we also give them access to the list of sales/purchases for each product that shows below the product information. Not sure why this does not show when the user also has access to create sales invoices and purchase orders.

  4. New Xero ribbon - can it be amended?
    Too much! There are things I don't use or need day to day. "Dashboard" became "home". Ok not great, but okay.
    The the "+" icon on the ribbon gives me the shortcut to anything.
    Xero has just gone and cluttered it up with stuff I don't need day to day. Like "Payroll" and "Reporting". Anyone else agree/disagree? How can it be amended from the users pov?

    Appreciate your feedback, and it's good to understand our different users needs when moving across Xero. Its good to hear that the '+' icon helps you get to most places you need.

    I want to assure you we did a lot of user research and testing of the new navigation to ensure it would suit the needs of majority of businesses.

    We'd like to continue to get a sense of the interest from your idea but want to be upfront that this isn't something we have plans of enabling any time in the near future.

    Hi team, we appreciate all the feedback this idea has received over time. With our reimagined navigation this is something our product teams considered closely, however there is a bit of work involved to achieve what's being asked and we want to be open it's not in the roadmap right now. However, we're keeping a pulse on the feedback here and will be sure to share if there's any progress. Thanks

  6. I used to be able to sort by login history to see who has been working on which client account. This feature no longer is available it seems. Also, there used to be the ability to see a year's worth of logins, now it's only a few months. Why the change? This doesn't help when we are doing a year's worth of book-keeping for previous periods and I would like the functionality back to what we had in Classic. When using something New, please add and not remove well used and helpful reports and options. Thank you.

We can appreciate that the Users - login history should show a period longer than 60 days, We've reviewed your idea and now it's up to the community to get behind and support it.   7. It would be really useful to be able to log into more than one company on an reference basis only. I'm often in the middle of something when I am asked a question relating to another company by a colleague or client. I have to log out just to find one bit of information. I might have multiple windows open with different reports etc that I then lose. This is also very important when working on related companies to see intercompany loans in both companies at once.     Hi Cath, when you say you have to log out and then into the other org, are you using 2 separate Xero account logins?

    Appreciate not the ideal solution but you could use incognito mode atm, to open the organisation you need to reference?

    I’m really disappointed to discover that the Xero Mobile App doesn’t provide any way to view the Balance Sheet - a core financial statement that forms half of any set of accounts and is the backbone of understanding a business’s position.

    As a property developer, tracking CAPEX spends per project is critical, and not having quick access to this information on the go is a significant limitation. Even a simple dashboard or quick-glance view in the app would make a huge difference for users like me who rely on Xero to manage their businesses efficiently.

    Appreciate your feedback here, James. It's good to hear the sort of information our customers would find most handy on the go.

    This isn't something we have direct plans for atm, but we'll get a sens of the interest for viewing the Balance Sheet in the Xero Accounting app from the community here and I'll let you know if there are any plans made.

  9. As an accountant I prefer the Reporting and Accounting tabs together, under one tab as it has always been. It would slow me down, if I had to search for accounting tools/reports under different tabs.

  10. Invoice Only User SHOULD have access to "send and print" feature once the Purchase Order were approved. To address this concern, a user should have an access level of Invoice Only + Purchases, however, changing the permission to this level, the inputs made by other users, which might be confidential and unnecessarily to be seen by others, are compromised. I would like to request to add this feature (send and print) for the Invoice Only users.

    We appreciate you taking the time to share and support this idea. We can see that this idea is already gaining traction amongst the community. Giving Invoice Only users the ability to send or print approved invoices has the potential to simplify your workflow and make day-to-day tasks more efficient.

    Enabling this functionality would allow the same users who create and approve invoices to also send or print them, reducing handovers and helping your business operate more smoothly. It’s a great example of how a small change can lead to better team autonomy.

    Currently, this action is available to users with Standard, Advisor, or Invoice Only – Approve & Pay roles. Expanding this to other Invoice Only roles, such as Draft, Sales, or Purchases could make Xero even more flexible for teams with clearly defined responsibilities.

  11. In NZ we are required by law to keep 7 years of records for the IRD (tax department). I make a point of destroying old financial records that are older than 7 years. Xero doesn't have a mechanism to purge old data. I see in my Xero I full record including invoices, supplier invoices and financial data back to Jan 2014.

    I would like to see a system whereby old data was completely wiped, and summary starting figures created for the purged data period, say as at the start of each tax year, for me 1 April 2018 so that…

    Appreciate why you'd like to remove older data from your org after a long period, Steven. Generally we don't want to be touching our customers data, and this isn't something we have plans for implementing. However, we'll get a sense of the interest from others in this here, for our product teams to consider.

    Right now, if you'd like to remove older data there are a couple of options;

    • You could start a new organisation from the date you'd like to keep records from, setting up the organisation with conversion balances from that date. You could also export and import information from the old org to the new one.
    • Change the conversion balances in your existing org and remove older data prior to this date
  12. We are encountering a limitation within the current user roles that is hindering our Sales team’s efficiency in managing customer accounts.

    The Issue:

    The existing 'Sales (Invoice Only)' role does not provide the necessary permission for sales staff to amend, edit, or delete payments applied to invoices. This is critical for adjusting client balances quickly during the sales and collection cycle.

    The only alternative role grants full access, including Purchases/Accounts Payable, which we cannot provide to the Sales team due to internal control policies.

    Thanks for raising this idea about user role permissions for payment management. It’s a great starting point, and we can see how more granular sales role controls could help with managing access and maintaining internal checks.

  14. In search since I've used Xero, when searching for an Invoice Number - results would appear and a coloured box with the status - red for Awaiting Payment, and green for Paid. A handy visual meaning I didn't have to actually read the status.
    Now in the new Search - these colours have disappeared. Why? I now have to scan up and down and actually read what it says without my visual guide.   15. I have managed to do invoice only - approve and pay so that my staff can see all sales, purchases, sales orders and purchase orders but cannot see the banks accounts, however they now cannot see products and services which they need to

  16. In the general search field at the top right, it would be very helpful if the search also work with a space or a few spaces at the beginning. Because if I copy an invoice number in the field I always have to delete the spaces first before the search works - it's annoying.

  17. Offline/Online Syncing Xero Accounting Desktop Program which allows for Backup?
    When you dont have internet connection and you need to keep the staff working, obviously the file is not distributed to the cloud, but when the computer gets internet access it Syncs all of its data with the cloud. Xero, when internet connection is lost, you could still use all the same functionality, then once it gets online then it Syncs all the information with the cloud.

    Thanks for sharing this idea, we appreciate wanting to enable staff to keep working when your internet's down.

    If we were to work on a change like this, we'd have to consider the implications this could have if multiple people worked on the same items while they were offline, and how this data would sync when they reconnected to the internet.

  19. Xero Annual Subscription - 1 yearly bill. Why isn't their an option for annual billing? This would reduce monthly invoice reconciliations for the Xero supplier account to just just one instance. Every bit helps to reduce the paperwork processing... Thanks John

  20. When exporting P&L or BS Reports into excel can the GL account number & description be separated into 2 separate columns - currently it exports as one field/column and needs a formula to separate the 2. This should be a standard feature ...surely
