  1. When I started with Xero, we had a lovely monthly Zoom call with local Xero Accounting & Bookkeeping Partner Practices. Topics would be presented, but also we would exchange ideas for best use practices and workarounds and how to leverage Xero tools. We could discuss troubleshooting and compliance, etc. It was a great way as a business owner to network with other Xero-focused practices in my area, support one another, and share information. It would be great to see these come back one day!

  2. Create a Registered Office field in the contact details so that for client companies, we can have a quick view of physical/business, postal and registered office details. Currently, we have had to create a custom field, which you have to scroll down to the bottom of the page to view.

    Thank you for the interest and feedback you have shared on this idea, everyone.

    We'd like to provide some clarification of what is currently possible which may help some users here, and have slightly adjusted the title with the main request being around the ability to add registered office address as a field to a Clients record.

    Within the new unified client experience you can add multiple addresses to a Contact of a Client. While there isn't a specific option for 'Registered office address' you can select 'Other address' or choose from one of the preset (Street, Postal, or Delivery) options.

    At the client level, we appreciate individual Contact addresses may differ to the Client registered office address - Our product team are now working to add registered address as a field for 'Company' type business structures and I'll return to share news of it's release with you all here.

  3. Would like the ability to see Write-ons / Write-offs on the Invoices dashboard for Draft invoices to allow easier review of drafts.

    Alternatively some form of reporting that takes draft invoices into account vs billable time to see 'draft write-ons/offs'.

    Thanks for sharing your idea to generate a report in XPM that lists clients with rental properties. We can definitely see how that would make managing this group of clients much more efficient.

  5. We now have a single client record with HQ & XPM but it still does not pull through the client partner & manager from XPM and allow us to filter this way.

    We would find this feature very helpful when bulk updating client access for our team members when they start or depart.

    We also need to be able to export reports from HQ on the filters we apply. Currently even if a filter is applied the export includes all clients and columns and not what is in the filter display.

    Hi team, we appreciate your feedback and support on this idea.

    As you'll have noticed we've released our new unified client and staff experience that combines the experiences across Xero Practice Manager and Xero HQ.

    You'll find more filter and column options for the Client list.

    Though Client Partner and Client Manager aren't filters that can be added at present our product team are aware of the interest for this and will consider this enhancement as they continue to plan their roadmap. We will share any updates with you here.

  6. When drafting AIM reports in XPM, it would be helpful if you could hover over the box number and it lists the accounts that are being mapped there as opposed to changing report codes in blue Xero and continually having to update the AIM report to see if accounts are mapping correctly.

    Appreciate you raising this idea, Amy We've gone through your suggestion and taken a closer look at how things currently work.

    Right now, there isn't a built-in way to quickly view which accounts are linked to each AIM report box directly within the report. Based on your description, we understand how this would simplify the review process and reduce unnecessary steps when updating report codes.

    We’ve moved your idea to Gaining Support, which means others can now vote and add their perspective. That input really helps when our product teams are looking at what improvements to prioritise.

  7. A quick link from this years (active) workpaper pack to last years (archived) workpaper pack for this client would be so useful and save so much time. Accessing prior year (archived) workpapers is such a 🥴 workflow at present.

    Ideally this would be available on the Workpapers page (where you can see all workpapers) and take you to the same for last year, and it would be available on every individual workpaper page (and take you to that same page for last year).

    Hi team, we've been listening to your feedback and understand just how important it is to have an efficient workflow when preparing workpapers.

    As you may have heard, we've been working on a brand new Workpapers solution. This is a complete overhaul of our Workpapers offering, and we're thrilled to confirm that linking to the prior year's archived workpaper pack is on the roadmap.

    The new solution will include direct and seamless navigation between years, providing a link from the current year's workpaper pack to the previous year's archived pack for the same client. This'll save you significant time, making your compliance and review workflows much smoother. We're phasing the rollout, starting with Australia, with a global expansion to follow. I'll keep you updated here as this release widens.

  8. Ability to produce payment schedule that works with 31st July payment on account as DUE not already paid. When producing the return prior to 31st July.
    The attached file was produced prior to 31st July. The POA has been amended to show the correct figure due 31st July.

  9. XPM - Lock timesheets when a draft final invoice has been prepared.
    We are having issues with staff adding time to a job when there is a draft Final invoice that has been created. Then the invoice is approved and the added WIP does not get picked up and sits on the now completed job for us to stumble over months later. It makes sense to lock the timesheets when a Final invoice has been drafted.

  10. When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.

    This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing the different types of relationships you'd like to be able to track in Practice Manager.

    While we're making a lot of improvements to Clients with the new unified experience, we want to be upfront that developing more custom relationships like you're after here isn't on our roadmap.

    We'll continue to monitor and track the interest of this idea for future planning, and if there's any change to the status of this one, we'll let you know here.

  12. When you go into a client and enter the jobs tab, there is no job for that client even though they are part of the group that there is a job for and that client is included within that job. The job only shows for the single client where the job is created.

    The jobs tab already includes sections for active jobs and archived jobs. It should also show a section for jobs assigned to other clients within its group.

  13. Would be great to have the ability in XPM tax to identify if the client has a payment arrangement with IR. If there is somewhere in tax we can enter this information and this gets flagged when approving the tax payment letter, not to send the letter if the tax year is under arrangement.

  15. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.

  16. In many accounting software platforms, the established workflow for onboarding a new individual client and preparing their Income Tax Return leverages ATO pre-fill data efficiently.

    This process typically involves:

    • Adding the new client to the ATO portal.
    • Downloading the pre-fill XML file directly from the ATO portal.
    • Saving the downloaded XML file to a local directory.

    Hi Geena, thanks for this great suggestion for Xero Practice Manager.

    We can definitely see how having both the Client Manager and Job Manager visible on the main recurring jobs screen would make it much easier to see who is responsible for what at a glance. Adding an export option for that screen is also a great point.

  18. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).

  19. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

It would be great to have a feature that allows users to group clients within their HQ (or the main dashboard) in a way that only selected users with specific permissions can access certain client groups. This would provide more granular control over who can see and manage specific clients, making it easier to manage access for teams working on different client accounts.

    This would be especially helpful for firms with multiple teams handling different types of clients (e.g., accounting, payroll, etc.), ensuring that only relevant team members can view and work on certain client groups.

    Hi Rumyana, this is a thoughtful idea, and we can see how having more control over who can access specific client groups in Xero HQ would be useful, especially for firms with different teams handling various services like payroll, BAS, or advisory work.

    The idea has been reviewed and is now gaining support, which means it’s open for others to vote and share how this would help in their practice. As support builds, it helps give the product team a clearer view of the need across different types of firms.
