  1. Ability to produce payment schedule that works with 31st July payment on account as DUE not already paid. When producing the return prior to 31st July.
    The attached file was produced prior to 31st July. The POA has been amended to show the correct figure due 31st July.

  2. XPM - Lock timesheets when a draft final invoice has been prepared.
    We are having issues with staff adding time to a job when there is a draft Final invoice that has been created. Then the invoice is approved and the added WIP does not get picked up and sits on the now completed job for us to stumble over months later. It makes sense to lock the timesheets when a Final invoice has been drafted.

  3. When each job is created, we manually have to add the contact to the job. If this is not done, the invoice that is pushed to Xero Blue doesn't have contact information and we are unable to utilise the automatic reminders etc. This requires manual monitoring and negates the efficiencies within Xero Blue.

    This manual process would be solved if we had the ability to set the Primary Contact as the default contact on jobs that are created. This could for example, be set up as a tick box in settings. This could give people the option to switch on…

    Hi everyone, thanks for sharing the different types of relationships you'd like to be able to track in Practice Manager.

    While we're making a lot of improvements to Clients with the new unified experience, we want to be upfront that developing more custom relationships like you're after here isn't on our roadmap.

    We'll continue to monitor and track the interest of this idea for future planning, and if there's any change to the status of this one, we'll let you know here.

  5. When you go into a client and enter the jobs tab, there is no job for that client even though they are part of the group that there is a job for and that client is included within that job. The job only shows for the single client where the job is created.

    The jobs tab already includes sections for active jobs and archived jobs. It should also show a section for jobs assigned to other clients within its group.

  6. Would be great to create a report in XPM that shows client bank details so we can identify clients that are missing bank details and need to be followed up. This would also avoid the issue with tax returns being lodged with no bank details recorded.

  7. Would be great to have the ability in XPM tax to identify if the client has a payment arrangement with IR. If there is somewhere in tax we can enter this information and this gets flagged when approving the tax payment letter, not to send the letter if the tax year is under arrangement.

  9. When using the field [Client] Group(s) as a criteria in step 3 of report builder, you can only specify the relevant client group name in the text field. There's currently no functionality for a drop down list of client groups to select from similar to the clients field. Requesting this as an option

  10. We need a Trust Estimate to be included in Trust tax returns for ALL types of trusts. Xero recently added a trust estimate but it is for Deceased Estates Less Than 3 years only. This is not useful. This type of trust is a very small percentage of the trusts that our firm has.
    We need the estimate to be able to calculate -
    - Deceased Estates More Than 3 Years
    - Discretionary Trusts where there are Foreign Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there Minor Beneficiaries
    - Discretionary Trusts where there is no beneficiary presently entitled

  11. Currently when producing and filing (lodging) a CURNN is does not display the Financial Year it relates to. It would be very helpful to have the FY displayed so it is easily identifiable. The same as all the other Tax Returns.

  12. In many accounting software platforms, the established workflow for onboarding a new individual client and preparing their Income Tax Return leverages ATO pre-fill data efficiently.

    This process typically involves:

    • Adding the new client to the ATO portal.
    • Downloading the pre-fill XML file directly from the ATO portal.
    • Saving the downloaded XML file to a local directory.
    • Commencing a new ITR within the software by importing this ATO pre-fill file. This crucial step often includes the ability to search for the new client by surname, create a necessary client reference and automatically populate the return with all available ATO data, thereby…

    Hi Geena, thanks for this great suggestion for Xero Practice Manager.

    We can definitely see how having both the Client Manager and Job Manager visible on the main recurring jobs screen would make it much easier to see who is responsible for what at a glance. Adding an export option for that screen is also a great point.

  15. Please add ability to reorder accounts (lines) on a workpaper in Xero Workpaper. This is painful both for automatically populating workpapers (which go in the impractical alphabetical order) and custom workpapers (where every new line is added at the bottom...).

It would be great to have a feature that allows users to group clients within their HQ (or the main dashboard) in a way that only selected users with specific permissions can access certain client groups. This would provide more granular control over who can see and manage specific clients, making it easier to manage access for teams working on different client accounts.

    This would be especially helpful for firms with multiple teams handling different types of clients (e.g., accounting, payroll, etc.), ensuring that only relevant team members can view and work on certain client groups.

    Hi Rumyana, this is a thoughtful idea, and we can see how having more control over who can access specific client groups in Xero HQ would be useful, especially for firms with different teams handling various services like payroll, BAS, or advisory work.

    The idea has been reviewed and is now gaining support, which means it’s open for others to vote and share how this would help in their practice. As support builds, it helps give the product team a clearer view of the need across different types of firms.

    If there are particular scenarios or workflows where restricted access would make a difference for your team, feel free to add those as a comment. The more context we can gather, the better positioned the team is to understand the real-world impact.

  17. It would be good to be able to customise the Declaration that is just above the signing line in the Tax Returns. The default wording is quite broad, and it we would prefer to be able to customise it to reduce our risk. Clients are not always truthful in reporting all income, and we need to protect ourselves.

    Thanks for sharing this idea with the community. We can understand why being able to add specific wording to the client declaration would be useful.

    This idea is open for voting and comments from the community, and we'll be keeping an eye on its progress to gauge interest.

    In the meantime, while it's not possible to edit the declaration on the return itself, you can add your own custom text and disclaimers to a cover letter that you send with the tax return. This might help you manage the risk you mentioned.

  18. Some banks require the ABN or ACN to be present on all pages of the Financial Reports supplied to them. Currently, the only way to do this is to export the report to Excel and then painstakingly type the ABN/ACN in to every single page.

    There should be an option to toggle this on/off. Alternatively a field type that pulls the ABN from the company file would be suffice to add to the report template.

  19. I have a client who holds 4 rental properties all of which had significant differences from the previous year creating a large increase in tax payable. They have asked for an explanation, and it would be more efficient and easier for them to understand, if the comparatives could be on the same report as the current years figures so they were only looking at 1 piece of paper for each property. You can see the 2 years information on the screen but it would be preferable for some meetings to be able to have a hard copy. Thanks

  20. When creating a new workpaper pack, clients appearing under the Organisation dropdown is taken from XPM (as a one-way sync).

    It isn't possible to delete duplicate clients in Workpapers, even once they've been removed from XPM and the information has been synced again.

    The downside is that the Permanent workpaper isn't brought forward from LY and there's no sync to XPM (as it's connected to the true client record).

    The workaround is to edit the client name in the Settings (by putting a DNU or ZZ in the name), save it, then delete that Workpaper.

    Hi Anthony, thanks for submitting this detailed idea for improving Xero Workpapers.

    We can certainly see how having duplicate clients appear in the organisation list would be frustrating, especially when it prevents permanent files from being brought forward correctly. Your suggestion to have a two-way sync with XPM or the ability to directly archive or delete these duplicates makes a lot of sense.
