  1. AUTOMATIC SUBMISSION OF A RETURN WITH THE "DEFERRAL" DATE ALLOCATED

    It is a critical feature on a system we transition from to XERO tax, to be able to allocate to a finalized return a deferred date for the submission. On such and such date, all returns with that date and tag then come up, and with a touch of a single button all go to the ATO at the same time.   3. Would like to see the ability to turn on mandatory notes for billable jobs rather than optional. Happy for this to be turned on/off at a practice level.

    This will ensure that time is being recorded correctly against client jobs and making the team member accountable for time allocated.

    This means no missing information and clients can be billed correctly.

  4. The current 'To Sign' list is a combination of tax returns that might be out for signature with the client, or ready for the tax agent to sign. At the moment there is no way for our tax agents to tell which tax returns are ready for them to sign.

    This isn't in the pipeline currently, however our product team are very much aware of the idea here and considering this closely as they continue planning so I'll make sure to update if there is any news to share.

  5. Given Xero's push for 'beautiful accounting' I find it very frustrating that the template report codes can't be re-ordered within their groups in the template reports and always revert to alphabetical at the client level, meaning every single client needs their custom reports formatting unnecessarily. Editing reports at every single client level for what I consider to be pretty basic formatting is really disappointing.

    Hey Gareth, we appreciate you sharing this idea and highlighting the extra time spent manually reordering report codes in clients’ organisations. It’s clear that a better solution would help your practice run more smoothly.

    Right now, the only option is to reorder the codes manually within each client’s report. We know this isn’t the best solution and adds extra steps to your workflow.

    This idea is currently in the Gaining Support stage, so it’s open for votes and comments from the community. The feedback will help us understand how many people this would benefit and how important it is to your practice. We’ll keep you posted here as soon as there’s any news.

  6. Some clients want to review their tax return on a PDF format hence it would be helpful if there's an option to put a "draft" water mark

  7. Please can the corporation tax computation include a calculation of the marginal relief.

    This would need to include the amount of associated companies and the calculation of the marginal relief amount rather than just showing the total of marginal relief.

  9. Allow CSV/XML Import into Xero Tax Returns from External Form Tools
    Please add the ability to import tax return data into Xero Tax from external tools like Content Snare using a structured CSV or XML—similar to ATO pre-fill.

    This would let us auto-fill returns from client forms, reduce manual entry, and speed up processing. A simple mapping template or import tool would make a big difference.

  11. Would love the ability to efficiently reassign clients in bulk within XPM, using tickboxes (like in the jobs list) to select the relevant clients and reassign to a new accountant. The import/export feature is clunky and often errors on import. A quick and easy way to complete this function would improve client experience when a new accountant joins the firm.

  12. jobs -- can u make all row more compact - can u make columns more compact or allow user to narrow or widen column size - can u also allow job number column select Yes/No at column selection option - can u allow job report to export to excel/pdf - there are many external application having much better jobs management features - can u take some info from there ???

  15. Joint bank accounts need to be listed in the financial institution details of both parties in XPM. It would be great to have them linked so only one client needs to be updated and the changes flow to the other client, and into the tax returns for both

  16. The productivity dashboard does not have the functionality to automatically account for staff start dates. It calculates capacity for the whole year which does not work for staff commencing mid year. There's no functionality to set a historic capacity level. The workaround is to manually adjust the reporting date for the productivity dashboard to account for each staff's start date or use the Time Productivity Report as an alternative. I'd love to see this feature improvement / functionality in the future.

  17. The job budget is a key piece of information for all staff to have visibility. However the Budget field on a job is only visible if staff have Access Financial Data permissions. Giving Access Financial Data permissions allows staff to view and edit client billing details, edit practice subscription and export subscription. Surely, such wide ranging powers is not appropriate for ALL staff.

    Surely this permission should fall under the "Manage Jobs" permission matrix not under Finances permission matrix.

  18. It would be very handy to be able to create a formula in a custom report that could reference a group/custom row that sits within a closed group as sometimes you need these rows in order to drive the formula but they dont add any helpful information to the final report.

    Hi community, we’ve created this idea based on feedback we’ve heard, to help improve your workflow in Xero Practice Manager.

    The suggestion is to add a safeguard that prevents jobs from being closed when they’re still linked to an active tax return. We believe this would help reduce errors and support smoother compliance processes.

  20. We 'import from xero' the data to preopolute the tax return. However, the P&L and Balance Sheet items appear in the tax return as a worksheet when printed. It would be great if this was excluded, but retained the other worksheets.
