  1. Xero workpapers should change depending on entity type selected. It appears that the selection of entity type in workpapers only serves to customise the query gallery and has no bearing on the actual workpapers created. An number of examples of this can be seen whereby selecting the trust entity type, the workpaper pack incorrectly contains M & M2 imputation credits, N Shareholders Current Account should be named N Beneficiary Current Account, and most significantly L - Income Tax does not contain a defined field for tax credits allocated on beneficiary income (instead users are having to use the free form…

  2. Quite a few firms are using business fitness/their own custom workpapers in conjunction with Xero workpapers to meet their compliance needs. This is because some existing Xero workpapers e.g I2 - Finance Lease, S - Home Office, K - GST etc are not sufficient to meet our compliance needs. For example the home office workpaper does not contain the square metre rate method and there is no last year comparison for analytical review. No workpapers have been added to allow for new tax developments such as rental interest deductibility, rental loss limitation rules, mixed use assets to name a few.…

  3. Ability to copy a rental schedule to another tax return for a property shared 50/50 with the asset workpaper. Also ability to copy asset schedule to another rental schedule within the tax return.

  4. Add the Ability to lodge NLA for TPAR using Practice Manager, allowing clients to sign the NLA and submit to the ATO.   5. It would be great to have the ability setup recurring invoices directly in XPM for annual agreements rather than "pushing" recurring invoices similar to setting up recurring jobs in XPM.

  6. Currently when copying a job then the costs and milestones are automatically copied as well. It would be great to be given the option to copy these or not. Most of the time we do not want to copy these specifically the costs

  7. It would be great to be able to move job costs to another job in a similar way that you can move time sheets. More often than not costs are captured on an incorrect job and it is a "pain" to delete this and then to re-capture on the correct job.

  8. Add a TPAR tax form in Xero Practice Manager (XPM) so that we can generate signing pages like we can with a BAS or PSAR. When lodging via a client's Xero file or the ATO portal, we tick a box to say we have a declaration from the client, authorising us to lodge their TPAR, but there seems to be no report we can print to show them what we're going to lodge, nor signing pages that they can sign, so meeting this declaration requirement is proving difficult.

Trust Tax Return Reports - Summary Only and Summary and Worksheets - to be able to print the Trust Reporting Requirements pages (Annual Accounts information, Settlor & Beneficiary disclosures) as a separate report. The Summary Only and Summary and Worksheets Reports be as previously, that is the one page summary of income & tax (plus Worksheets when selected).

  10. It would be great if we could have access to reports that included all our clients with Payroll into one. E.g. I would like to be able to create a single report that captured all the employees from all account subscriptions we manage so I can see what their hourly rates are so I know who needs an increase when the minimum changes. Currently I need to create that report individually whereas the likes of Paysauce have that top level reporting to include all our subscriptions in one.

  11. Would love to see features to the group profile. Even if they were custom tabs from the business settings (so it applies to all groups). Some ideas are:

    1. Group information - could be a list of the clients and their partner, manager, class, etc (would be great if each firm could select what client details they want to include from their business settings).

    2. Client Fees - could use this section to add services, fees and notes for each client, and then have this total per service, client and group. This way you can update on the go and see the…

  12. Would be great if we could update fields in one go for multiple entities across a group (similar to how the address field allows you to). For example, the Partner, Manager, Class, etc is generally the same across the group (how we use it), so it would be good if we could update these sections for everyone in the group in one go (even if we need to access one of the entity profiles, and from there it asks if we want to update the other entities as well).

  13. Would love to be able to re-arrange line items in Tax Returns as we have everything listed in alphabetical order. In HandiSoft, we could click and drag lines.

    Example situation:

    Shares in 2020
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    Shares in 2021
    ANZ
    BOQ
    CBA
    WBC

    To add in ANZ, we need to delete BOQ, CBA and WBC, add in ANZ and then re-add BOQ, CBA and WBC. Very time consuming if there are multiple lines to add.

  14. Xero Sign

    Often I send husband and wife docs to sign.

    If we put the wife to sign their return, the husband cannot see it in the pack.

    This might have been some privacy idea but think in terms of a real physical meeting, you have both pwople checking both, or if you post, both check both. It makes sense they both unde4stand each other.

    So ability to see everything in the pack would be good.

    Current workaround is I put the return in the pack a 2nd time with no spots to sign, so the other person can see…

  15. Xero sign/Adobe sign

    Esigning and the portal is excellent and very useful.

    I get worried unlike when you use Adobe DC directly, Xero Sign does not give trails of who signed back to you.

    Whilst probably not too likely things were not signedd correctly, I think we need more robust authentication with the IP address and the email address that was used to login being recorded into a report.

    The drill down to confirm the transaction is not very helpful and I cannot work out in the secured pdf where to easily see thse things.

    Thanks for your feedback on this idea, everyone. We appreciate wanting greater confidence when lodging amended returns.

    Right now, though appreciate it's not ideal method - you can print the original draft tax return before you amend the return as a comparative.

    We want to be upfront that we don't have any plans around developing this feature in the near term.

    We'll continue to monitor the interest this idea keeps building for future consideration, and will share if there's any change.

  18. It would be great if we could have the ability to apply multiple relationships to a single entity at once, perhaps as a multiple checkboxes. So for example, when setting up a company, we might have one person who is the Director, Secretary, Public Officer and Shareholder but at the moment we need to add these in one at a time.

  19. AU Tax - Error notifications. When a return is rejected by the ATO and appears in the Error tab of the Returns section of Xero Tax, an email should be triggered to alert the tax agent so that the error can be rectified immediately.

    While we can' make any commitments at this stage this is something our product teams have lined up for exploration a little later this year and we'll be sure to keep you looped in on any progress here.

  20. Would it be possible to integrate a feature where the workpapers notify the user that there may be Xero accounts that have balances in the relevant year that have not pulled through to any of the workpapers being used (say for example because the report codes mapping for a new account has not been set up properly)?
