  1. When you have multiple companies using Xero and utilise the function to approve bills in Xero for audit tracking purposes you need a way to view the number of bills "Awaiting approval" in all of the companies in one place.

    It is very time consuming to open each company individually in order to confirm that there are bills that need approval.

  2. Ability to hide more sensitive data from staff.

    I have an employee who works overseas. Currently I think we can only hide the TFN details but it would be good to also be able to hide date of birth, address and now Director ID details.

    They do not need to see all of the sensitive data when preparing tax returns so it would be good to have some options of what data we can hide from employees.

  3. On the foreign income page on self assessment on Xero Tax, I do not have the function to complete boxes 33 to 40 in order to enter foreign capital gains tax suffered.

  4. A report showing which clients are using which bank feeds.
    This would allow easy updates to client and internally when we become aware of a bank feed causing duplications or other errors.

  5. we can now do a prefilling of a return very easily, however, we still need to go into the ATO website to download the full prefilling report (approximate 2 -3 minutes) to find any ATO warnings such a Crypto currency transactions or Capital Gain Disposals for shares....or even worse the client has a warning about excessive prior year deductions claimed. If this was to come across when Xero did the download ATO prefilling and come up on the Xero warning when you validate the returns ...this would save time and potential missing of these warnings

  6. My Xero - Managing staff access to clients

    I suppose we have a large-ish accountancy - in My Xero I get a full list of all clients I get access to; that's 25 pages of clients at 50 clients per page. I see all clients irrespective of whether the subscriber is internal (within our accountancy) or external (the client).

    We need to add a new admin staff member and give them “Manage users” + “Payroll admin” to all entities. In My Xero, I drill down into the Staff list, click on the new user and it says I have access…

  7. Why do we need to have all of the 'Z do not use' sections appear when setting up a new pack that then need to be unticked? It would be better to have them unticked in the first place

Update New Zealand trust financial reporting templates to comply with the Tax Administration (Financial Statement - Domestic Trusts) Order 2022 as set out in Inland Revenue's Operational Statement OS 22/02, including removing reference to repealed Trustees Act 1956 and replacing with Trusts Act 2019.

  9. Keyboard shortcuts in Xero Practice Manager

    Currently only have a shortcut for search (forward slash) in XPM, would like more shortcuts (like there are in Blue Xero) - eg:
    Dashboard / Clients / Jobs / Tax / Business / Reports tabs.

  12. I often have a draft bill for recurring expenses that I need to edit. When I update the amounts, it updates the total on the bottom, but it doesn't update the amount in the upper right corner (why not?), so I have to edit that as well. This creates another keystroke and mouse move that is annoying. What is the purpose of that total remaining the same after I have made the other changes? It should update automatically.

  13. Would like the ability to run a report with any fields that are available for the client - not be limited because a certain field is tagged as a job or tax field. Example is having a report with client, job and tax fields all listed

  14. In Xero Practice Manager's dashboard be able to enter leave by selecting a start and end date. So we do not have to enter each day one at a time, especially when you have long service leave to enter! This is extremely time consuming and irksome.

  15. Xero sign/Adobe sign

    Esigning and the portal is excellent and very useful.

    I get worried unlike when you use Adobe DC directly, Xero Sign does not give trails of who signed back to you.

    Whilst probably not too likely things were not signedd correctly, I think we need more robust authentication with the IP address and the email address that was used to login being recorded into a report.

    The drill down to confirm the transaction is not very helpful and I cannot work out in the secured pdf where to easily see thse things.

    Most other providers have better…

  17. Suggestion to have the ability to enter 'Ad Hoc' time in the same place you enter time for jobs - i.e. in the Timesheets screen, rather than going through the 'Global Search' screen.

    You would select a client first, then select Ad Hoc Time or a job (if an active one exists).

    Also, when selecting a client, it would also be handy to be able to start typing a few letters from anywhere within the client name, rather than having to type the first letter or scroll down using the picklist.

  18. The Activity Statements in Xero Tax need to have the total payable/refundable at the top of the screen like the Tax Returns do. It would be nice to see the result when you're on a different page than the summary page.

  19. We have individual clients' display names set as "Joe Bloggs", not "Bloggs, Joe", so they look sensible on their tax returns etc.

    But this means that when you see an on-screen list of Tax Payments Waiting Approval, or if you display or print a report, the individual clients show up in order of their FIRST names which is not logical and can make it difficult to find them on the list. This is also a problem with the reports.

    The report field "Client" gives you the "display name" for individuals and the "name" for non-individuals, so all the individuals are…

  20. With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.

    Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

    Hi Matthew, appreciate you sharing how the ability to export clients' information can supports your workflows, particularly when integrating with external systems like phone or CRM tools.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. With the new layout, some of the fields available in the old reports, like multiple phone numbers — aren’t currently included in exports.
