  1. In Tax Statements, under Transfers tab: the "auto mark as complete" needs to happen by both amount and date. So need the ability to set the effective date for the transfer to occur, therefore if IRD does something different we are alerted.

    Currently if transfer is the same $ value or more, then Xero automatically marks as complete, this should not occur. If the $ is more then the transfer has not gone as expected and we need to be alerted to this.

    While we know this isn't a perfect solution, the current workaround is to manually track these transfers and we have some help on doing this within Xero Central.

    While we understand the desire for improvements to this process, we want to be upfront that this isn't in our current roadmap.

    As you may have heard from our recent Xerocon announcements there are lots of exciting improvements coming within the Practice space over the coming months that we our teams are developing for.

    While we will move the idea to Not in pipeline, should there be any change around this we will be sure to share with you here.

  2. It would be great to be able to set default print settings for the practice, especially by tax return type. Recently Xero changed the default and now I have an extra box to untick each time. Pain in the backside. Thanks

  3. Xero sign in document packs - you currently need to manually input the client's details to add their signature for each document pack (for docs with no auto signing feature like tax returns).

    It would be great if there was an option to simply select a client from XPM as all the details are already there (First name/Last name/Email)

  4. When exporting invoices from XPM to Xero it should by default export the client name, address, email address and contact number.

    Currently it only exports the client name and postal address, and contact name, email and phone number (but only if that contact is NOT a client in XPM and only if you select that contact when preparing the invoice - forget the contact and you are back at square one.).

    Thanks for the comprehensive and exhaustive idea around how contact and client details could be included when invoices are synched from XPM to Xero blue. As you may know there is a new platform (PartnerHub) which you may be aware of, and will be released fully in the near future. You may find that the issue is covered in the new experience. We will move this to Gaining Support so the community can get behind this add their votes and comments.

  5. When preparing future year return, in my case, FY2025 tax return for one individual client, even though it shows 2025 tax year, Xero tax is actually FY2024 tax rate for calculation. So the result is not accurate. Will Xero Tax fix this issue in the future?

  6. Grab all ATO online prefill data. Why exclude the data that shows how many days hospital cover was covered? Why not provide all the data that is available on the portal prefill pintouts? (Including previous year deductions and occupation etc)

    Thanks so much for raising this and explaining how you’re using the ATO prefill data. We’ve logged your feedback and will move it into our Gaining Support process so the product team can consider it alongside other work. At this stage there are no planned changes to how Xero imports Medicare and ATO prefill data, but your input is really valuable in helping us understand where improvements would add the most value..

  7. It would be good if any report you can already run in Xero could be added to a report template - this would include GST reports (activity statement and GST reconciliation), payroll reports etc. That way instead of having to manually extract each of these reports for each client we can just do it in bulk through one report template.

    Thanks for sharing your idea to include GST reports in report templates.

    We can see how this would be a real time-saver, especially when you’re building out report packs for clients or internal teams. There’s clearly a strong appetite for this feature, and we understand why. Being able to add GST reports directly into templates would simplify the process of creating complete, consistent report packs for any purpose.

    This idea is now in the Gaining Support stage. That means it's open for voting and comments, and we’ll continue to monitor interest from the community. Your input helps inform how we prioritise future updates to Xero. We’ll keep you posted here with any developments.

  8. Since the change to the partner hub, this has disappeared.

    I cannot be the only one who accessed activity statements from the job and not the tax returns tab?

    They disappear into the tax return tab abyss now.

  9. I had a validation error CMN.ATO.DISTBENTRT.000013 generated in an SMSF tax return.
    When I clicked on the validation error it took me to a specific trust income schedule (number 10 of 18), which had several fields highlighted. The error says that there must be a number in any of the fields A B D U and so on - this schedule met this condition.
    After much wasted time trying to re-enter fields, checking there were no blank spaces, deleting and re-entering all fields, deleting and re-entering the whole schedule, I contacted support.
    It turns out the error was actually generated…

  11. When some client has more than 1 health insurance policy and the period of the same are diffrent and sometime overlapping we need the work out this manually which can sometime be wrongly caluclated and can impact the tax estimates.

    Xero should have a worksheet where we can enter policy details along with perioid of coverage to that it can calculae the days acurately. Similar feature is avaialble in MYOB AO and comes in very handy.

    Hi everyone, we appreciate how auto calculating Medicare Levy Surcharge (MLS) exempt days would help save time and reduce errors.

    While our product team has reviewed this idea, and it's something we have intentions to solve in the long terms this is not roadmapped at this time.

    This is something we'll continue to assess as we plan for the future of Xero tax so I'll share as soon as there are any updates on this, here. Thanks

  12. Bills:

    1. For Credit notes, when you click the 'Save' drop down, there is an option for 'Save and add another' like there is for regular Bills.

    2. Being able to lock a supplier/ 'From' when adding Bills, so we don't need to search for every bill, for when we have multiple bills under one supplier.
      Maybe a lock button next to the contact name which can be clicked to unlock it when no longer needed.

    Hey Mandy, thanks for asking Anchal to raise this as an Idea for review. As Anchal and the Product team have conveyed this is being looked at currently (Balance Sheet addition to Partnership filings) and there will be updates as this progresses. The client address is not something we are looking at currently as it is not mandatory for HMRC or Companies House.

  14. It would be useful to filter by staff teams when allocating access to a client in Xero.

    We already have the ability to group staff into teams within Xero HQ, and it would speed up assigning access to large groups of staff members if we could use these teams when assigning access to a client in Xero HQ. This could be added to the 'Filter' option.

  15. With the new layout the old reports - even the customisable ones do not have all these new fields that can be chosen and exported.

    Eg there are now multiple phone fields which is great but I use this data to export to my phone system but now I cant.

    Hi Matthew, appreciate you sharing how the ability to export clients' information can supports your workflows, particularly when integrating with external systems like phone or CRM tools.

    This idea has now moved to Gaining Support, which means it’s open for the community to vote and add comments. With the new layout, some of the fields available in the old reports, like multiple phone numbers — aren’t currently included in exports. Hearing how this affects your workflow, and what fields you’d find most useful, helps our product team understand the real-world impact and prioritise improvements.

  16. Switched to Xero because of a general disappointment in QuickBooks, but one feature that I wish Xero had: When reviewing financial statements (P&L, General Ledger, etc.) and I make a change to account # (or Entity), the reports do not automatically update - I have to input all parameters and re-run the report. I have used "Find and Recode" for multiple changes, but to make one or two changes requires rerunning the report.

    Any chance that Xero will update to this feature?

  17. It's great that XPM now has standard fields for Date of Death, additional email addresses (on the client file) and additional physical addresses, however, we cannot run a report to show those fields.

Have the ability to run a report to include in the Financial Statements that is a Group Summary, so includes all selected entities within a group and details all amounts payable or refunds due for all upcoming provisional and terminal tax dates (regardless of balance date) and a Net Tax position

  20. Including IR4J as a Return Type in report builder - Reposting

    when we have a report that we would want to specify the type of return e.g. ir3, ir4 there does not seem to be the IR4J specifically for when we file a IR4J on its own for members apart of a consolidated group and only require to file their own imputation return.

    It would be great if this could be included as this helps when reporting our internal filing stats.
