  1. To be add the job title of a primary person and additional person in a contact details.
    Xero is not a CRM but to manage the invoicing and bills relationship with contact, it could be great to know the position of the person on the other side.
    It could be a great add-on as to know to whom we are addressing our email in the contact company.

    Hi community, we understand how being able to add a persons job title in contacts would help distinguish and identify within a contact.

    Being open, this isn't something we have plans of for the time being. Right now, though not the ideal solution you could possibly use the notes feature in contacts to add detail of the differentials. We know this won't solve the needs for everyone in the idea but may help for some scenarios.

    If there is any plans made around this we will update you of this, here.

  2. A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.

    Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.

    If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.

    The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.

    Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?

    Can we have it directed to a folder?

  3. It would be great if we could search in the files that are attached in the file library. Sometimes you need to find something that was attached a long time ago or by someone else and if you could enter a keyword search it would save trawling through them page by page.

  4. It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.

    Interesting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here. 

    While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once - 

    From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.

    • When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too
  5. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more. 

  6. Since the new contact layout was introduced, you cannot save an attention name without there being an address in the address field. Sometimes we do have a company name, contact name and no address.

  7. It would be great to have the ability to copy a contact in order to create a new one We often have the same agent representing various clients, and creating a new contact for each one is cumbersome. The option to copy an existing contact (making changes to the name or account number but keeping the address, bank details etc) would be extremely useful.

  8. There are quite a few filters on Hubdoc, but there isn't one to filter by the user that uploaded the document, we have quite a few employees that upload and process documents in Hubdoc, but they keep having to go through all the documents uploaded by other users to process their documents.

    We would like a filter that allows you to filter by user.

    Appreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name. 

    While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present. 

    We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates. 

  10. NZ: To be able to link the demo company to Hubdoc - for demo to clients, to show the process from mobile upload to coding in Hubdoc, through to Xero and also for training of practice staff

  11. Hi Xero,
    could you please add a tick box button TPAR reportable in Supplier Contact - when adding new Supplier to have there option to tick "TPAR reportable"?
    It would really help with ATO reporting when working with high volume of Suppliers/Contractors.
    Atm Xero does not have a tab to differentiate between Supplier providing material only and Supplier/Contractor providing service, labour on which we need to file TPAR every year and within a year we are taking on numerous new contractors.

  12. In the HubDoc there is a default setting with a checkbox always marked (active) for "save configuration".

    A lot of mistakes are made because old text is saved and reused when it shouldn't.

    It's better if there is no text instead of wrong text.

    Therefore the default should be unchecked (off) for this "save configuration" checkbox because it causes a lot of problems when the wrong text is saved to XERO.

  15. Currently you cannot submit a purchase order in Hubdoc, there is no "publish as" option.
    It would be good if it was an option and have it flow/link with purchase orders in Xero, to which then can flow into Approvalmax to be approved.
    Currently it requires an employee to access another system which would be good to limit.

When adding a new contact if you use account numbers (which is important to use as a primary key for records) it would be really good if a autogenerated number was assigned as a default (like it does with an invoice number etc.). Currently you have to remember/check what the last account number you've used was.

    Hi everyone, there’s been a lot of thoughtful input shared on this idea, and we understand the efficiency and value this could bring for teams working with large or fast-changing contact lists.

    While this request is not in the pipeline, that does not mean the need has gone unnoticed.

    Your feedback continues to shape how we look at these gaps, and we appreciate you taking the time to explain what this would mean for your workflows.

    We know this might not be the outcome many of you were hoping for. This idea will remain open for votes so we can continue to capture support, and we'll make sure to post here if the status changes in future.

  17. From within your contact details or Quote or Invoice - why not have the functionality to communicate to a client via WhatsApp or send the Quote or Invoice via WhatsApp. If you are in the construction industry, acknowledging that not everyone is in construction, the craftsmen you work with only gets to Mail and acceptance of quotes in the evenings. WhatsApp's they respond to easily and quickly ....

  19. Need a better user management/access experience in HubDoc. Currently the practice user who set up the Hubdoc account needs to invite all other practice users into the client. Would it be possible to merge the Hubdoc access into the Xero HQ access or replicate the HQ access system in HubDoc.

  20. There is an issue with the new contact edit settings, we cannot add IBAN in account number and swift in routing numberFinancial details. Since we have vendors globally, not everyone have US routing and acct number only. This needs to be fixed since we are relying on the bank details updated in contact

    Hi everyone, thanks for your on-going involvement in the idea here.

    We understand many of our customers are trading internationally. While we haven't been able to deliver a solution as yet, this is still high on our radar.

    Right now, depending on the country selected when setting up organisations will have different field options - Sort code in UK, BSB code in AU and Routing number in US. This explains the differences some in the conversation have mentioned. I appreciate it's not a solution but for the time being any extra detail (IBAN or any other banking detail) for the contact could be added as a note to the contacts record that can be looked up before making payments.

    For our UK customers that have set up international bill payments - Though not direct from Contacts you can edit and save international payment details for a supplier through the flow…
