  1. When you look at the PAID invoices it shows years of invoices and would be nice if you could archive previous years. If a person is no longer affiliated with your company and they had previous invoices they cannot be archived but the person can be archived.

  2. Using the dashboard search, we are no longer able to search by account number and must instead use names. Account numbers are used by thousands of businesses across the country and it's one of my most common client questions.

    We can search by account number in the contact screen, please extend this to the dashboard search

  3. Very simple fix. Add 'Group' as a column header on CSV export download of contacts. When I download all the contacts, ive no way of knowing which group they are in, or if they are not in a group.

  4. Could the 'overview' page of the contact show all the contacts/persons associated with a Contact Account, not just the 'first' one?
    We have 2 or 3 contacts/persons on most of our accounts, it would be nice to be able to see their names/emails on the company overview page, rather than having to click into 'Edit' to find these details.

  5. I am a relatively new user to Xero but have over 35 years MYOB experience as an Accountant. While I enjoy many of the Xero features there is a fundamental one that is missing and frustrates me endlessly. In MYOB under contacts there is a history tab where you can easily see spend history by month for several years for customers and suppliers. This is such a simple but powerful screen that is completely missing in Xero. Running reports is slow and un-necessary.

    Have you considered offering this simple enhancement to Xero?

  6. The longer I use Xero the more supplier invoices it stores.
    When I use the recent bills report it takes so long to go back to the beginning 2015 in my case before it allows you to put in a date search.
    It would be great if we could have a function to archive old supplier and customer invoices- not losing them altogether but just in the background to be viewed if needed.

  7. I have a client who is wanting to set up a vendor and queried about the ability to send a form to the potential vendor with information required directly from Xero
    Unfortunately this is not an option at this time but I am wondering if this is something other businesses would use and how helpful this would be

  8. In the files inbox, when I want to rename or delete a file, I cannot do so while looking at the contents of the file. I must close the file and try to find it amongst the dozen or so files sent by a dozen different people, and then rename or delete it. I would like to be able to rename the file while I have it open.

    Similarly, I would like to delete files from the inbox while looking at them - I get a LOT of forwarded email threads, and every logo in every footer shows up as…

  9. Customers are constantly baffled why my phone doesn't recognise their number. It's quite a drag to explain that although their number is in my phone (xero contacts), caller id is not able to access the information. I understand there's some way to sync google contacts with a premium subscription, but surely in 2022 this should be a basic feature.

  10. Under the Contact, where Xero shows the current account balance and further down the screen we can see all invoices etc for that contact. When I scroll down the list of invoices I'd love to be able to see a little icon that tells me how many files I have uploaded to each invoice. The only way to tell currently is if I click into each invoice and then I can see the number of files attached per the little file icon at the top.

    While we don't have immediate plans for adding a file icon indicator to the Contact Activity list we're tracking the interest from our community here and will share if there are any updates planned. Thanks

  11. When a client uploads or emails a file to the Xero files area of their own subscription, it would be helpful if we, as their accountants, could receive a notification to let us know there is a file waiting for us.
    This should be an optional setting, perhaps even with limits (eg notify me for every 5 files uploaded).

  12. To be add the job title of a primary person and additional person in a contact details.
    Xero is not a CRM but to manage the invoicing and bills relationship with contact, it could be great to know the position of the person on the other side.
    It could be a great add-on as to know to whom we are addressing our email in the contact company.

    Hi community, we understand how being able to add a persons job title in contacts would help distinguish and identify within a contact.

    Being open, this isn't something we have plans of for the time being. Right now, though not the ideal solution you could possibly use the notes feature in contacts to add detail of the differentials. We know this won't solve the needs for everyone in the idea but may help for some scenarios.

    If there is any plans made around this we will update you of this, here.

  13. A 'Deleted' folder in Files that captures deleted files.

    Once I have uploaded a receipt to the files folder, I always dispose of the original.

    If you accidentally attach it too, and then delete it from the transaction, it is gone forever. You have no ability to reload it from the files folder.

    The original uploaded file is gone, so you have to source another copy of the receipt from the supplier.

    Surely this deleted uploaded file has gone somewhere?

    Can we have it directed to a folder?

  14. It would be great if we could search in the files that are attached in the file library. Sometimes you need to find something that was attached a long time ago or by someone else and if you could enter a keyword search it would save trawling through them page by page.

  15. It would save us so much time if there was an option to turn off debtor statements per contact just like we have the option to turn off invoice reminders. That way when sending statements we can bulk send without having to send them one at a time.

    Interesting idea - we'll continue tracking interest here. 🙂 In the meantime I did want to highlight how you can send multiple statements at once and may help some here. 

    While it's not possible to set a default for each contact, you can currently send statements to multiple users at once - 

    From your Contact lists either select all, or just the contacts you'd like, select the 3 menu dots in the top right of the page where you'll see an option to 'Send statements'.

    • When clicked this will take you to the statements screen where you can further refine the lists of contacts you'd like to send a statement too
  16. We use another software programme which exports all our customer details and invoices etc into Xero automatically. The other programme uses Google to create addresses. A lot of the addresses include te reo, so include macrons. When the text is imported into Xero the macrons cause non-recognition of the characters, so we end up with a mess.
    Surely in this modern world, Xero, an Aotearoa, New Zealand, developed programme, can be made to recognise our indigenous (Official) language, and allow correct te reo spellings.
    This is 2022 not 1922, please allow us to get this basic NZ requirement correct. Xero…

    Hi Karin, would it be possible to get a few more examples of names that you've tried to import and not have show with macrons? 

    One of our team have tested creating a contact via import with the name Whakatāne (/mækrn, me-/) and this created a contact in Xero as shown in this image. 

    It'd be great to better understand and see if we can look into this a bit more. 

  17. Since the new contact layout was introduced, you cannot save an attention name without there being an address in the address field. Sometimes we do have a company name, contact name and no address.

  18. It would be great to have the ability to copy a contact in order to create a new one We often have the same agent representing various clients, and creating a new contact for each one is cumbersome. The option to copy an existing contact (making changes to the name or account number but keeping the address, bank details etc) would be extremely useful.

  19. There are quite a few filters on Hubdoc, but there isn't one to filter by the user that uploaded the document, we have quite a few employees that upload and process documents in Hubdoc, but they keep having to go through all the documents uploaded by other users to process their documents.

    We would like a filter that allows you to filter by user.

    Appreciate the interest shown on the idea here, everyone. Atm, we don't have any plans for adding a specific field for a Contact / Business Registered name. 

    While not a perfect solution as another user has shared, perhaps adding the name to the contact's address field could help surface this detail where required at present. 

    We'll continue to gauge interest in this, and share if there are any updates.
