  1. Hi Hubdoc Support,

    I’d like to suggest a feature that I believe would benefit many users working with supplier invoices.

    Currently, when capturing invoice details, there’s no option to enter a discount before the total amount is calculated. It would be incredibly useful to have a field above “Total Amount” where we can input a discount value—either as a percentage or fixed amount—and have Hubdoc automatically adjust the total accordingly.

    This would:

    Reflect real-world supplier practices more accurately
    Reduce manual edits and errors
    Improve audit trail clarity
    Streamline publishing to accounting platforms like Xero or Sage

  2. Could you make the app more user-friendly by reducing the need to log in every time or Ideally, Face ID should be an option for quick access.

    Also, when we receive invoices from Xero, could they be sent as PDF attachments rather than just links? This would make it easier to forward them to Hubdocs via email. Thanks!

  3. It would be fantastic to attach more than one file when publishing from Hubdoc to Xero! Often bills come with supporting documentation, such as contracts and/or receipts. It would be great to be able to attach these, as well as the original bill to be published.

  6. When the transaction is reconciled to a Bill that's been uploaded from HubDoc in Xero, it should mark the document as Paid in HubDoc. (Google's AI-generated answer says that this happens, but it doesn't on my account). That way it would be much easier to see in HubDoc which items still aren't reconciled

    Specifically, if a document is
    1) published as "Purchased, Awaiting Payment", and published to Xero
    2) that bill is then reconciled to a transaction in Xero, so that bill is shown as Paid and linked to Hubdoc
    3) then when viewing the document in Hubdoc, "Mark as…

    Hi Mark, thanks for this excellent and clearly detailed suggestion.

    We understand the workflow you're proposing: when a bill from Hubdoc is reconciled in Xero, its status should automatically sync back and be marked as 'Paid' in Hubdoc.

    We're grateful for your engagement and for letting us know the changes that matter to you.

    We've reviewed your idea for the 'Paid' status to sync from Xero back to Hubdoc, and now it can gain support from other community members. Along with votes, others can now comment to share additional detail about how this two-way sync would improve their experience.

  7. Please add the ability to enter payment details when posting invoices via Hubdoc.

    At the moment, if an invoice has already been paid (e.g. by cash or a personal card), I have to post it in Hubdoc and then go into Xero to add the payment manually. This is especially common for my café and restaurant clients who pay many invoices in cash, and it creates a lot of extra work.

    Being able to record the payment at the point of upload would save a huge amount of time.

    We could see that having the ability to record the paid invoice from within Hubdoc would be useful. Now it's over to the community to show their support. To help get the ball rolling, feel free to share the idea with any colleagues who'd find it useful – every vote helps!

  8. When emailing receipts to Hubdoc, anything written in the email title or body should stay with the receipt. Currently, Hubdoc turns one email into 2 uploads. One upload is the email. One upload is the receipt. It is nearly impossible to know which email matches which receipt. The result is that important documentation is lost. For example, my clients often email a receipt to Hubdoc for meals and they write who was present at the meal and the business purpose into the email's title or body. Those details are required by the IRS but the current Hubdoc system does not…

  9. Shortcut to Hubdoc - First thing I do when I open Xero in most clients is click straight into Hubdoc. With the BETA layout the shortcut has now been lost right down under 'do more with Xero'. I want to move the shortcut so it is the first thing I get to when I click on the client name. I'd also like the hide the Syft, I don't plan on using it yet and don't want it on my dashboard

  10. Currently hubdoc suggests that a document is a Credit Note and to check before proceeding. Can this be the same when a document has Statement written on it. I find that statements are often processed as invoices causing duplicate payments within Xero

  11. I would like a field in Hubdoc to enter the supplier ABN number, that would then pull through to the ABN Field in the Contact in Xero please. This will be a huge help when bulk reviewing ABNs and GST Registration status. If the field could be clearly seen when processing documents it would be helpful so we can just double check against the document when processing.

    Thanks for this fantastic suggestion. We can definitely see how an ABN field in Hubdoc that syncs to Xero would be a huge help.


    Having that ABN visible while processing documents would make it much easier for accountants and bookkeepers to confirm supplier details and apply the correct GST.

    The next step is to gather more community support! If you know any colleagues who would also benefit from this, please encourage them to add their vote. We'd love for them to share their own experiences in the comments, as hearing how this feature would improve different workflows is incredibly valuable.

  12. Increase functionality of Hubdoc App to be able to process (i.e. code) receipts in the same way you can on the Hubdoc website

  13. Hubdoc. Options to post to Xero are Purchase, Spend money, Invoice (AP) and credit note.
    Can we have a received money option as well please so that I can enter say bar takings from an end of day till report straight to the Tills cash reconciliation report.?

    Thanks for all your engagement on this idea. We understand that the option to post receive money transactions from Hubdoc is important to all who've supported this, however we want to be transparent that this isn't a feature we're currently working on.

  14. Stop dating in 1900s.
    Today I typed in the date 5/3/25. Click on the little calendar that appears, the month says March 25. Click on 5 March 25.

    Hubdoc interprets this as the year 1925.

    I dont think there are many people entering receipts from 100 years ago.
    Please remove those last century calendars from Hubdoc.

    While you fix that, since the Hubdoc file is linked to a Xero file can you also stop hubdoc processing into a closed year. It warns you AFTER it's been sent to Xero, then doesn't let you correct it because of the status -…

  16. Xero already scans invoices to create drafts, which is a huge time-saver.

    Extending this capability to receipts would add even more value.

    Specifically, if receipts sent to a Xero mailbox could be scanned and automatically matched to the right transaction, it would save significant manual effort, reduce errors, and streamline reconciliation. This small enhancement could have a big impact on efficiency for businesses handling large volumes of receipts.

  17. Configure Publish As options to exclude some options.
    We never post Sales Invoices, but sometimes supplier invoices are incorrectly publish as Invoice(AR).
    This is lengthy to undo.
    I would like to configure HubDoc to exclude the Invoice(AR) option

  19. Does HubDoc have any plans to make app sign in on mobiles easier? For example, signing in once with normal password, 2FA etc and then being able to setup to login using faceID. The sign in process on the mobile app is a nightmare and having to regularly login because the app logs you out is the biggest customer complaint I hear. I am going to search for other alternatives at this stage because my clients can't get past that functionality. If it's not easy to upload documents it is pointless.

  20. Please make it possible to allocate expenses to any bank account while in hubdoc. That way a lot of time is saved when reconciling transactions to the bank account.
