  1. Separate the INCOME TAX EXPENSE from the normal operating expenses in the Profit & Loss Statement. for example:
    - Net Profit Before Tax
    - INCOME TAX EXPENSE
    - Net Profit After Tax
    This is the basics of accounting apps.

  2. Hi

    Client is wondering whether there is a way to split bills in the cash flow prediction to show half the bill being paid on this day and the remainder on another day. Currently you can tell it that we estimate to pay the bill in full on this day but can't see an option to split the bill.

New Cash Summary report vs Old: In the new report when you customise the new report to adopt the "Working Capital with other cash movements" format & report Gross, i.e. with VAT figures, the "Other Cash Movements" in the new version are STILL reported Ex VAT. IN the equivalent Old version, they were termed as "Non operating Movements" and would correctly apper as Gross, i.e. VAT included figures. In the new report instead, VAT on these items is reported as a consolidated item seperately below as "VAT movements". There needs to be a feature to report the above as Gross…

  5. As payments are applied to invoices or bills, you can't see the description detail on a cash basis report (no problem with an accrual detailed general ledger though).

    The old general ledger (export function) enabled you to see the description on both accrual & cash.

    Seems illogical?!

  7. Would it be possible to up date the CIS feature to have the reports that are filed through Xero to HMRC be automatically saved into the filed with HMRC section so that you can see the original return that was submitted if you have had to update it. Returns are not saved on HMRC if they are submitted through Xero.

  8. We need to be able to create a report that lists inventory item sales and includes the customer name AND other customer contact information such as email address or phone number.

    There have been occasions where I've needed to contact a large group of customers that have purchased a product from me due to a misprint in a book or an update to a title. At present, the only way I can do this is to export my inventory report and add the contacts manually. Xero Support Specialist - Daniel has confirmed this.

    Hi team, rounding back to the idea here we want to be open that this isn't a report that we have any plans for developing at this time.

    That said, there is a feature in Xero today that may help you achieve what you're in need of - Smart Lists

    With smart lists you can set criteria for items that customers have or haven't purchased from you within a period of time. You can either have this compare across all items or run smart lists for specific items. Search results can then be exported from Xero if you'd like to do more with them. Thanks

  9. In the old Xero reports as part of the management report, it was possible to run a report that showed month by month actuals for the FY to date then the budget month by the month for the rest of the financial year to give a full year forecast.

    However, in the new Xero reports, this functionality has gone. Try and write my own report but the dates don't update automatically regardless of the reporting date you select (as confirmed by a Xero specialist)

    So I can write a report that shows 4 columns - Jan - Apr actuals, then…

  10. New Account transaction report - remove the totals when generating the report for a single account.
    The new report adds a report total at the end of the selected accounts which is a total of the debit or credit transactions for 'all' accounts selected.
    When only one account is selected it still shows a total - this is in addition to the total for the transactions on the account itself so it shows total of transactions, closing balance and then total of transactions of all accounts selected. It would improve the usability of this report to have the 'overall total…

    Sorry team, we'll need to take a step back from our previous update here. Though this is a feature our teams would like to pick up in the future, we're unable to focus resource on this atm. As soon as we can pick things up, I'll be back to share again.

  11. It would be useful if Bank uncoded statement line report could also show outstanding payments & receipts. 9 times out of 10 an 'orange' transaction is a client error, duplicate transaction etc. Effectively this would be a complete list of bank items to be reconciled / fixed ( Ideally with the last month, quarter, financial year filter)

  12. The previous Profit & Loss report allowed you to filter by multiple categories. There was an add t report function which allowed users to drill down into secondary categories and export ALL of the data into one report which showed 1. A P&L Summary, 2. Detailed expenditure for the chosen secondary category. The "Add to report" function allowed the user to export the entire category details as a whole.

    For our business this is critical. We are a bespoke project based company and use this filter constantly & No the project feature does not work for our business....I have tried!

  13. Currently, you are able to pull the Contact Transactions Summary and ledger for only one contact at a time.

    If you can add the ability to pull more than one contact's transactions at a time, it would be great. It should work the same as "Account Transactions" where you choose the accounts you want to pull, just for Contacts.

    Hi Elizna, you can run the Receivable or Payable invoice detail reports for multiple contacts at a time. Is there something specific about the Contact Transactions Summary that's missing from these reports that you'd want included ? 

  14. Can payroll deductions such as IRD arrears or MOJ deductions etc be included in the Payments Report. This is vital information that is not able to be reported on at this stage and I wonder how many deductions have slipped through the cracks because clients aren't aware that a deduction has been made. In the situation where a third party is managing Xero payrolls for clients these payments need to be communicated manually via email. As you can imagine this places a large burden on the third party to ensure that this is captured each payrun.

    Hi there, we appreciate you raised this a little while ago. This isn't something we have plans for in the near term.

    Not getting a lot of support from other members we’ll soon remove this from Product ideas. If it’s still highly valuable to you, welcome to start it again and see if it gets renewed interest.

  15. The Journal report does not show any currency information, it would be very helpful to chow to currency and the debit/ credit source amounts.

  16. On the Receivables and Payables Detail report, include a flag that shows when a planned payment date has been manually identified (as opposed to the credit terms due date). Will simplify cashflow forecasting

  17. You can add formula columns and rows to a report, but from what I can tell, the column formula always takes precedent over the row. It would be cool if you choose if you want the row formula to calculate in the column formula column

  18. Why doesn't Xero display the currency symbol (like a $) in any of the financial reports like Balance Sheet, Income Statement, etc.? We get only the plain numbers without knowing they are in U.S. dollars (in my case) and make these basic financial reports harder than necessary to read.

  19. It would be helpful to have the reports, once exported to Excel, already formatted, so that the Nil values are shown as a 'dash' as opposed to '0'. This is particularly useful when there is a large report or several reports with lots of data. It is more efficient when it comes to reviewing the figures, and saves having to custom format the individual reports. We have also had clients, who still prefer reports on Excel, ask for reports in this format, it is time consuming having to change, especially when it is a large reporting pack.

  20. Where funds span multiple financial years it would be good to be able to add a brought forward fund balance (balance sheet item) the the P&L fund report (income & expenditure for charities where tracking categories are used for the funds) so that the charity has full visibility of the fund available - last FY brought forward + net amount for this FY = total fund till available
