  2. To include different accounting method for construction company.

    We are using PCM method for our accounting in which our revenue and expenses recognized are based on the project's progress. Our project work done percentage is based on the costs incurred and the revenue and cost of sales are based on the work done percentage.

    I have attached an example of calculation.

  3. To be able to run the budget variance to show either net or gross actuals and not just net as our imported budget is gross so the variance is always incorrect.

  4. It would be really helpful if you can add more filters in the Project Summary reports, e.g.. a date range for "Closed Date" so we can report on Projects completed in a specific month. At the moment the date range is based on time entries only.

  5. VAT Return - transactions by VAT Box
    Hi our company VAT return is currently over 400 pages long. Reviewing it is not easy when you have the box 1 figure on page one. I then scroll to about page 65 to get to the box 4 numbers after scrolling past it 2 or 3 times.
    It would be amazing if there was a navigation panel to one side that I could click and it would take me to the page of the vat return relevant to the box number I want to review.

    Appreciate you sharing ideas from your own clients, David. It'd be great to know more of how this could help their business or the reasons why they'd like to see the post code in this report specifically. 

    Atm, if needing a full list of contacts and their post codes perhaps an export from Contacts would be of use. Thanks 

  7. When running the monthly CIS report it would be helpful to include the tracking category, to be able to work out the total liability per department to pay out of each bank account to HMRC

  8. In the Inventory Item Summary report I can customise the report by adding a filter & then searching for a stock item eg a spigot - but there are 100 different types of spigots, & each of them need to be selected individually!!! can we please have a "select all" button???

  9. We need the ability to sort the data in the VAT Report table.

    This will make it much easier to review all the transactions to check that everything has been properly allocated.

  10. It would be great to be able to filter the fixed asset list by the various categories but especially by asset type.

    For example, I have 500 assets and am trying to pick out just the Office Equipment to dispose of 30 assets, but I am having to search for each individual asset rather than just look at a list of the Office Equipment.

    HI community, thanks for your support here. While this isn't something we have plans for extending comparatives beyond 36 periods atm, it'd be good to get more detail on the ideal # of comparatives you'd be looking to run the report for, and what this would help your business do - Please do comment to share your views. 

    Other options you'll see you have with the new report, is that you can change the comparative period between Day, Month, Quarter or Year. 

  12. In the executive summary report, could there be an option to exclude certain accounts similar to the business snapshot report. For example I would like to exclude the distribution of profit accounts in partnerships as this shows a false profit of $0.

    Also can the variance also be expressed in a $ value in audition to the percentage value.

  13. It would be useful in the manual journal screen if it indicated there were draft manual journals without having to click on the tab. When using repeating journals which are saved as draft each month you have to remember they are there to attend to.

  14. Budget manager currently only allows you to include actuals for 3m, 6m and 12m. Most businesses do quarterly forecasts and hence also need 9m....why isn't this included as a default option ?? It should be...please !

  15. It would be helpful if loan payments and bank account transfers were added automatically.

    Adding these manually is time-consuming.

  16. Can we have the ability to hide or adjust size/ minimise "reporting codes" & "adjustments", "Adjusted balance", "Variance" & "Assignee" - making this more customisable for easy review & based on what is important for each person.

  19. Currently you are unable to concurrently search and sort results in manual journals, and can only do one or the other. Searching resets the sort to default (newest first), and sorting clears search parameters.

    Please consider adding the ability to do both.

    Hey Jon, thanks for sharing this idea. Being able to sort and filter manual journals from the Manual Journals screen would make things a lot easier, especially when you're trying to track something down quickly.

    We really appreciate you calling out how this could save time and help streamline your workflow. While some sorting/filtering is possible via the Manual Journal screen, we get that it’s not quite the same and adds a few extra steps.

    This idea’s now in the Gaining Support stage. Every vote and comment helps us understand how useful this would be for the wider Xero community and gives our product team more insight when planning what’s next.

    Hi Maresa, when you say you'd like to add Location would this be based on a Tracking category you've set up in the organisation? If so, you could add this when you create the original transaction(bill) the asset is raised from.
